5 out of 5 eggsGreat color!

Pros: Bought this monitor in-store (Sry Newegg) because it was about $60 less on sale. I couldn't budget a 120Hz monitor into my gaming rig build, so thought this was the best route. I have it on my Xbox for right now and it looks AMAZING. Being that Xbox runs at only 30fps, it has great response and vibrant colors....especially Skyrim.

Cons: Non right now. This is my first IPS panel, so don't really kn ow the best settings. Still playing around with them.

Other Thoughts: I'm not sure how this will work once I finish my gaming build. 60Hz isn't optimal for gaming.

4 out of 5 eggsGood for CADD and bright enough for bright office

Pros: Nice color. Good response. Fairly sharp text. These are good for the money. I am replacing two new 22" $350 LCD's that were not bright, had low text quality even in text mode, muddled colors, etc. These LG monitors are much better.

Cons: None.

1 out of 5 eggsGood while it lasts

Pros: Great color, very high contrast

Cons: Terminal for power cable is faulty. Wiggle it, and the monitor loses power intermittently. You have to get it just right to make contact with power cable. Monitor makes rattling sound when shaken. Lots of edge light bleeding.

Other Thoughts: Only had this thing for two months. My 19-inch 16:9 Acer Acer monitor at least worked for 4 years without a problem, despite being small with lousy picture quality.

5 out of 5 eggsLots of bang for a little buck.

Pros: I bought two of these from a brick and mortar store on sale for $179 (sorry Egg) as budget photo editing monitors for a photographer client of mine after her high end 6 year old monitor died. The color reproduction is very accurate, at least from a subjective look from both her and me. LCD panels have come a long way since she purchased her last monitor for 3x the price, and the step up is noticeably better.

Contrary to the other reviews, neither of the monitors I picked up have any backlight bleed, (perhaps later revisions fixed the problem). I also found zero dead or stuck pixels.

Cons: The monitor stands are pretty terrible (especially considering her old monitor had an amazing stand), but since the monitors provide VESA 100 mounting holes (and she's been aiming to reclaim some desk space anyways), I bought a couple monitor arms to replace the stands. Given the light weight of the monitors, the arms hold up really nicely.

The viewing angles are pretty good, but there's a slight purplish hue when viewing too far off angle. However, this seems to be diminishing with time as the monitor breaks itself in.

Other Thoughts: I've only had these for a week now, but I'm impressed by the quality considering the price. I was moments away from spending almost three times as much on a single competing monitor, but decided to take my chances with two of these (and glad I did).

5 out of 5 eggsSplendid!

Pros: -Decently Priced IPS monitor for the price.
-Very crisp and clean picture from each monitor: Graphics and text combined.
-No dead pixels or blacklight bleed in any corners. Was pleasantly surprised about this.
-A major upgrade from the Hanspree HG225 that I've had for almost 4 1/2 years.
-Does very well as compared to the 2ms montior sets that my housemate has. He watched me play the third Saints Row game, and was surprised that it didn't ghost or lag at all.

Cons: Kinda wished that the power-on lights were green (the same color of my "Riced Black/Green Rig") but that is not a major deal breaker [Because of personal preference].

Besides that, no Cons.

Other Thoughts: I picked up three of these from a brick and mortar store, and I spent about an hour of looking at the tech specs of these and the Asus 24" monitors... and I ended picking up these. Really glad that I did.

REALLY would've bought these from Newegg, but these were about $209.99 each where I got them. Sorry Newegg, but $150's worth of savings is my cup of tea.

5 out of 5 eggsUpdate to previous post

Pros: See comments.

Cons: See comments.

Other Thoughts: I posted before and said how much I like this monitor. My opinion of the screen image stands; I think the thing looks great.

I did run into a "glitch" that you should know about. As I said before I use the monitor with both a computer and a cable box to watch TV (HDMI through a switch). I ran into a small problem; when going to the "On Demand" channel from my service provider (Cox) the channel comes on for about 5 seconds or so and then the screen goes blank and displays the message "Out of range". It shows the frequency as "15.7 @ 60 Hz." (or some number like that, 15.9). It only does this for the mentioned channel, no others. It's perplexing in that it does show briefly. I suspect it has something to do with the format of the image menu. BTW, I did try directly into the monitor without the switch.

If you don't plan to use it with a cable box I still highly recommend the monitor for computer use; colors are great, etc. Despite this issue, I'm still giving it 5 eggs.

5 out of 5 eggsPleasantly surprised - nice monitor

Pros: I bought one of these to use with a computer and monitor for a cable box in my bedroom (all running HDMI). It took a little adjustment but once that was done I was surprised. Colors were very vivid with good separation; watching some things had almost a "3D" look to them. While watching the movie "Sin City" I saw lighting effects that I've never seen before (having seen this movie about 4-5 times before). Skies looked particularly vivid, skin tones look very natural. Blacks are very deep and don't seem to have that "black fluorescent glow". I was impressed by the "quality" of the colors; not saturated or overblown, but very "full" and doesn't seem to have that "flatness" of other monitors I have.

Cons: None really.

Other Thoughts: You'll have to play with the settings a bit. When I first hooked it up I was a little disappointed. However, after 5 minutes or so I had it dialed in where it really does look great.

People have mentioned the stand; it has a thumbscrew that has to be tightened on the bottom. If this is overlooked the monitor will wobble.

4 out of 5 eggsGood monitor for the price, but edge bleeding may turn off some

Pros: Excellent color, deep blacks, very bright, HDMI + DVI, minimal elegant styling, internal power supply, silent

Cons: pronounced backlight edge bleeding, obviously more apparent in low light conditions. if this bothers you a lot, you may want to seek out a different model.

Other Thoughts: 8ms response time will satisfy casual gamers, although hardcore first person shooters may want a non-IPS with faster response

5 out of 5 eggsUNBELIEVABLE!!!!!

Pros: Color Accuracy, Perfect Sharpness, Very Nice Appearance, Slim & Trim, Easy OSD Menu, Love the Blue Rainbow Glow of the On Indicator, Top Notch Packaging, High Quality DVI Cable Included, HDCP Compliant, Silent Operation, Very Even L.E.D. Illumination, ZERO Dead Pixels,

Cons: Stand is a little wobbly, ~ONLY ONE YEAR WARRANTY~ This is particularly disturbing, LG does not promote much faith in this product with a warranty that is one third the length of most of it's competitors... This is Marketing 101.. But the monitor itself is so beautiful I did not deduct for this... Price was so nice I simply purchased the In Store Extended Warranty

Other Thoughts: New Egg is on the ball with offering a year of extended warranty on this for no cost to their customers. I did not purchase this monitor from NewEgg due to a local chain store Sale Price.. But I am a Loyal Lover of NewEgg and recommend them to everyone...
