5 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitor.

Pros: Clear, good image quality. Full 1080P HD. I like the height it sits at (much lower than my previous monitor). Previous reviewer stated his didn't include a DVI cable, mine did, though I intend on using the HDMI port. The energy save is good since I rarely ever turn my monitor off.

Cons: It's shaky. It won't tip over, or fall, but it bounces ever so slightly almost every time I move. It is slow to turn on, but I rarely ever turn mine off.

Other Thoughts: Definitely worth the price i paid for it. I intend on buying a 2nd one to have dual identical monitors. It has mounting holes on the back so I might look for a more sturdy base that allows me to mount both too it and remove the need for two bases.

4 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: Good image quality.
Good viewing angle.
Cables plug in from the bottom for a cleaner appearance.

Cons: Stand is a little shakey, but hasn't fallen over or broken.
Doesn't include a DVI cable.
Slow to turn on compared to my laptop's display which is instant.

Other Thoughts: Overall a very respectable monitor, though not the very best.

5 out of 5 eggsWell Designed piece of equipment

Pros: Sturdy base and well designed buttons on the front. The biggest adventage I see for this monitor is the vertically mounted input ports. These make this moitor very convinient for wall mounting applications.

The picture quality is clear and consistant with little distortion when viewd at an angle

Cons: The screen is a little on the thick side and the screen tilting action on the base is not the best.

4 out of 5 eggsOkay, some color inconsistency across the display, not completely happy but I can live with it

Pros: Full 1080 HD, light, very low energy use.

Cons: Slightly inconsistent brightness with slight apparent yellowing toward the lower left quadrant of the display compared to the rest of the screen, and compared to the virtually perfect LG EW224T purchased at WalMart a while back.

Other Thoughts: This monitor was purchased to be an exact physical match with a LG EW224T monitor picked up at WalMart within the past six months, for a dual monitor setup mounted to a stand. Physically, it is an precise match. But it has not been possible to precisely match the color temperature with the other monitor. Also, there is some light bleed-through around the edges of this display, whereas the other LG (from WalMart is completely black around the edges, no light bleed-through whatsoever. Overall, if I needed an exact match for another LG monitor again, I would be find purchasing another one of these. Otherwise, I would probably look at other options with the same or better display quality at a lower price point.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Home Desktop Use

Pros: The first thing I noticed was the weight, it was very light and easy to handle. I also like the black matte finish so as not to distract too much from a shiny border. I also like the matte screen for the same reason, no glare from lighting around me. The colors are great and the detail of images are very sharp. Easy to set up and begin using. This Monitor is also the perfect size for my desktop, just wide enough and not that tall that I need to look up. It is just right for my use.

Cons: The only con I had was the driver installation disc that came with it, it would not work. Each time I would click on, "install driver", I would get a error message! Had to load the drivers manually through the device manager. Also, the instructions sheet was a bit confusing with all the different languages. They would write "Step 1." in multiple languages and then move on to "Step 2.", instead of writing all the steps together in English then write them again for each additional language.

Other Thoughts: The stand could be a bit sturdier but it's not really a con.

4 out of 5 eggsTerrific for General Use

Pros: The monitor is an excellent value for the general home user wanting to switch to a widescreen LED display.

The multiple inputs provide nice flexibility and the menu controls are fairly intuitive and easy to access with the on-screen control option menu. (I.e., no need to read what it says next to the button on the bezel in a dimly lit or dark room. Just push any of them to pop-up the menu display.)

No dead or stuck pixels.

Cons: The only cons I can think of are a very slight inconsistency in brightness across the display - but you are unlikely to find much better in this price range and may not even notice it. It lacks a display-port input, and the bezel is also a little wide if you are considering multi-monitor setups.

These are all relatively minor issues in my opinion however.

Other Thoughts: I would not hesitate to buy more of them if I had the need.

It has nice sharp text and works well for regular office tasks or gaming with good color contrast and even gradients. (I didn't realize how much better it was than my old Princeton 17" LCD until I hooked the old one up as a second monitor. The old one simply looks dim and washed out with some details simply not visible without careful adjustment.)

It is not a top quality monitor for professional graphics use, but it is a solid upgrade for most standard LCD users wanting a newer LED backlight or simply something larger. I do not regret not spending more, as this monitor is an excellent bang for the buck, particularly if you can find it on sale.
