4 out of 5 eggsWonderful

Pros: Marvelous picture, brightness, clarity, viewing angle, response time, etc.

Thin and Light!

Paid $175 each shipped.

Calibration certificate included.

Cons: Received 2 with numerous rows of dead pixels.

Too bright out of the may need eye drops lol

Touch sensitive buttons kind of a PITA at first, but you get used to not having physical buttons to press.

Other Thoughts: Bezel not as thin as advertised.

RMA was painless and I received 2 perfect monitors in exchange for the bad ones.

3 are glorious in surround :D

I was hesitant with 5ms response time since I have always had 2ms or less displays. Do not worry about issues for watching movies or gaming, these are marvelous!

5 out of 5 eggsvey pleased

Pros: low response time(5ms!). no ghosting, no bleed, sharp colors, good contrast, really beautiful monitor. I couldn't find any monitor that comes close to the quality of this one in this price range, the next one that could compete was a Dell with 25-40 EUR (33 - 53 USD) higher price tag. Bought it after I tested it at a local shop.

Cons: As everyone else is pointing out, the stand is stupid, BUT this is not a problem whatsoever. Contrary to what most people say, the monitor doesn't bounce or dance around after a minor touch of the desk. Considering thee price tag, cant really say this is a con, its to be expected

Other Thoughts: Best bang for the buck, using it for a month now and i have nothing to complain about. Glad i saved some money by not going for a higher priced IPS.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent monitor

Pros: Large Beautiful picture. No dead pixels.

Cons: Can't eliminate temporary DVI indicator at top right when switching my KVM.

Other Thoughts: Bought from a local competitor to avoid paying for return shipping in case of dead pixels

4 out of 5 eggsVery nice colormetrically accurate monitor

Pros: The monitor comes pre-calbriated for optimum Adobe sRGB color gamut. It is definitely nice to have 250 nits as every grey shade I have been able to make has been faithfully represented.
The pixel pitch is small enough that you don't end up with eye strain after several hours of viewing.

In my view this has the qualities of my old CRT professional level displays for graphic designs, but with less real estate requirement. I don't know how they managed to get all the colors in the gamuts using LED's, as these are notorious for tinting the color either to the red or green spectrum, leaving you with sad whites. LG did this somehow.

I have had no problem with ghosting artifacts while watching rapid video segments or while playing video games. Granted, my experience in these areas are limited.

Cons: The monitor would be perfect as an entry level for graphics professionals if LG had managed to address the following weaknesses. At least in my opinion.

1) The stand is bouncy. Don't count on it as your method of support, or you will go batty! Invest in a good VESA desk mount. I have tried to address this bounce by tightening the stand screws, but they don't cut it.

2) The control buttons are EXTREMELY sensitive. It is hard to get the settings you desire due to the tendency to over/undershoot the desired mark. I also wish the "AUTO" light sensor was more sensitive. If you work through dusk into night the monitor is very bright.

3) Not really a big deal, but it would be nice to get a DVI cord with this type of monitor. Analog just makes the display seem worse than it is.

Other Thoughts: I bought 2 of these. One for myself and one for my 76 year old father. He just loves it. The blacks are crisp and easy for him to read, colors show on the screen as they are printed by his inkjet printer, and it gives him plenty of room on his desk to work.

4 out of 5 eggsOverall, great monitor, except for a deep gouge in the bezel in a "brand new" monitor

Pros: I ordered two of these at the same time, and they both had no dead pixels and matched the color quality well. The touch sensitive on/off and menu controls are very neat. Love the matte finish instead of glossy.

Cons: These were ordered brand new, but one of the two monitors had a deep scratch on the bezel for some weird reason. Were these refurbished and sold as new? Very disappointed in the fact that my brand new monitor had a deep scratch on the bottom bezel, but the colors matched and there were no dead pixels, so I didn't want to run to the risk of doing an RMA and getting an even worse monitor.

Other Thoughts: Disappointed that my new monitor has a pretty decent scratch on it (It's so deep, you can run your finger or thumb over it and feel the gouge), but otherwise, satisfied with the picture and color qualities.

3 out of 5 eggsfirmware bug

Pros: Image quality is good for the price, calibrates to 97% of sRGB on my unit.

Cons: A major problem I have which is causing me to consider returning is that the sharpness setting is not persistant between power or sleep cycle. You have to re-adjust every time. I believe this is a firmware bug, if you are happy with the overboosted sharpness, then it is fine for you, but to me it appears it introduce artifacts into the image.

5 out of 5 eggsExtravagant

Pros: Great display. Tiny "bezel" (but still there). Tiny frame and incredible picture. I'm not a huge display-o-phille, but it's infinitely better than my previous displays.

Cons: No display port, but I knew that going into it. Has a little nob for the base, which is irremovable. Nothing that merits only 4 eggs though.

Other Thoughts: Bought 3 (while on sale for $170 a pop) for my eyefinity setup. Straight up amazing. The "bezel" is just about a 7mm black area which looks like its part of the screen before you energize the monitor. I also knew this before I bought it, so not disappointed by the "bezel" on the "bezel-less" monitor.

4 out of 5 eggsBeautiful and Dainty

Pros: Image quality, response time, and colors do not get better than this on a 1080p monitor.

Cons: Screen wobbles upon the slightest impact to desk. Keyboard presses included. It is a wobbler, no doubt. Other con are the touch buttons. Incredibly sensitive makes it tough to navigate.

Other Thoughts: High pitched whine on HDMI.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor

Pros: I can easily view the screen at any angle without color change, the high contrast ratio allows me to see better colors (great for my graphics work and videos), ultra slim look.

Cons: The image on the cover is misleading, the screen doesn't stretch all the way to the edge bevel, the screen comes in about 7 mm (still very small compared to other monitors.

One dead pixel on arrival. Doesn't bug me that much because i got the monitor on a super sale, but unacceptable for the quality that LG brings.

Other Thoughts: Beautiful monitor, definite buy.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic display!

Pros: I just built my entire PC 2 days ago, so everything including the displays (I purchased 2) are completely fresh, however I felt the need to review this monitor to help those that are hesitant. I had been researching monitors for some time and was very hesitant to buy an IPS monitor due to the supposed refresh rate issue as well as eIPS panels not being very impressive.

Well, throw both of those concerns out of the window with this display. It is impressively thin and the base (or stand) is actually quite stable unlike one reviewer's concerns. It is my opinion that they had not tightened the built-in screw enough to completely stabilize it. I cannot think of another time that I had ever called a monitor or TV sexy, however this one deserves that title. It is sleek and very aesthetically pleasing.

It comes with a piece of paper explaining the basis of the calibration which I find to be a top notch touch. I am an ISF certified individual with thousands of TV and monitor calibrations under my belt and to see that was a true delight. With that said, the panels have a very nice picture out of the box. The color temperature is automatically set to Warm which usually indicates that it is closer to 6500k color temperature. This is ideal because 6500k is a true basis of white, however, the display seems to have a touch more blue than necessary (that is what gives your TV that "bright out of the box" look. Unfortunately, I no longer have calibration equipment at my disposal so I cannot give an official temperature reading. The black levels definitely need some manual tweaking, but with enough adjustment you should find it to your liking.

As far as refresh rate goes, there is an adjustment to set it from Off to High. It does great with video running at 60hz and 60fps and I could see very little ghosting.

IPS panels are notorious for light bleed. With my curtains drawn and my lights completely off I can honestly say that there was absolutely NO light bleed off of either of the 2 displays.

Cons: As far as cons go, well, there aren't many. The biggest one that just about everyone on here has complained about is the bezel is not as thin as pictured. This is 100% true. With the screen protector/glare reducer it makes the display appear as if there is a 1mm thin bezel, with the display turned on it is more like a 10mm. No big deal. I have never purchased something solely on a picture (photoshop anyone?). Other than that an included DVI cable would be nice, but not a reason to dock an Egg.

Other Thoughts: The only professional review that I could find was completely in Russian, however with the big G's browser it was able to translate it and I found the review to be quite favorable of the display.
