5 out of 5 eggsDoes a good job.

Pros: It loads up the optical media fairly fast. It worked a lot better than the ASUS I was using for 3 years on my last build. It wouldn't flake out after burning 3 DVD's or load slowly.

Cons: It wouldn't open or even start a few times after I initially installed windows. I however wasn't connected to the internet to install the drivers though. AFTER I installed the drivers, nothing has failed yet, and I played about 20 DVD's and installed a couple games from DVD. So far so good. I'm more than sure it just needed an update so I won't take an egg off for that.

Other Thoughts: Worked great, this is my 2nd LG DVD burner (this review, i built a PC for a friend). Other than initial trouble no problems after updates. Mine is still working flawless after I accidentally knocked off the door when I walked past my PC (about 6 months old I think). I'll keep using LG for my optical drives. I'm going to try the BluRay reader next to replace my DVD burner.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat E-IPS 1080P monitor, probably not the best for gamers

Pros: Zero dead/stuck pixels, very crisp looking picture and great colors compared to my old Acer TN screen! Much better viewing angles than my previous TN monitor, I really feel like I can never go back to TN.

Cons: Light bleed or IPS glow on lower left corner, while the rest of the corners are fine but I've seen worse pictures of that on the internet and can only be seen on a black screen so it doesn't bug me. Very wobbly stand, but I've already replaced it with a vesa mount stand.

Other Thoughts: This monitor uses an LG LM230WF3-SLK1 E-IPS panel, which has a very good picture. So I'd recommend this to non hardcore gamers, but since I can tell it seems to twitch or lag at very high motion things, like it can't keep up, buts that's only in extremely fast action games and even then its not that bad, except in Borderlands 2. For gamers I'd suggest getting the Dell Ultrasharp U2312HM if they are wanting a low lag E-IPS screen, but for everyone else this is overall a good E-IPS screen for the money.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitor

Pros: Superb display. Looks great.
No dead pixels on arrival.
Viewing from nearly every angle looks great.
Overall, an awesome 1080p display.

Cons: Not a huge fan of the stand-style.

Other Thoughts: Wish it had came with a DVI cable.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor with all the right price cuts

Pros: Great screen,
clean look,
thin edges, thin width,
great color accuracy from all angles

Cons: Flimsy stand,
limited connection options,
only comes with a VGA cable,
cheap feeling power cord

Other Thoughts: With this monitor, you need to keep in mind its price point. Ive heard many complaints about this monitor and its big 27' inch brother. But what those complainers dont seem to put any attention towards is the price. The whole point of this monitor is to give great color accuracy and an IPS panel to people on a budget or not willing to spend so much. So with that. your gonna get some cut corners to save cost. With this panel none of those corners seem to be cut with the screen quality. only on the things such as stand, connection options and things like that. All things the budget minded can live with. with this in mind i did not nock off any eggs because i knew exactly what i was getting into. quality picture without all the bells and whistles to save some money.

5 out of 5 eggsReplace the stand, and it's a keeper

Pros: Gorgeous picture. No stuck/dead pixels, sharp text, and VERY little light bleed from the sides, if any. No ghosting that I could find.

Cons: The stand is weak, but an aftermarket VESA stand (which was its intended home anyway) negates that. Ports on rear face back, not down, making it more difficult to wall mount than it ought to be.

Other Thoughts: Great price for an IPS monitor, just a questionable stand keeps it from being perfect.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor.

Pros: Great color quality.
Response time.
Brightness.
Light.
Thin.
Small bezel.
Stays cool.

Cons: I can't find any information online about this product. It is entirely absent from LG's USA website. I do not have the ".AUS" model.
Screen is ever so slightly occluded by the matte finish. I am not fond of matte finish, but I suppose this is a personal preference.
The monitor could have a little tighter connection to its base as it shakes when I type.

Other Thoughts: I bought this item from Best Buy. It was not on display yet, as they had just received it. I am starting to think this monitor is hard to find in the USA.

Looks much better than the previous IPS Asus monitor that I ordered from Newegg. I am returning that piece of junk and keeping this gem.
