This review is from: LG 24EA53V-P Black 23.8" 5ms (GTG) HDMI Widescreen LED Backlight LCD Monitor, IPS Panel 250 cd/m2 5,000,000:1
Pros: The colors are vivid and a touch more lifelike, it brings a lot of what you would expect from an IPS for this price. Ghosting is not overly an issue and neither is contrast when scenes are bright. No noticeable color aberrations or patterns.
Cons: Very noticeable back-light bleeding from lower left corner - makes it difficult to see things in dark games like Alien vs Predator and Deus Ex HR. Turns blacks silvery gray in some quadrants as if sunlight from a window behind you is glaring on the screen. Not true 24"; 23.8" which you might notice if you're adding it to a true 24" setup.
Other Thoughts: I purchased this from a different store, replacing an LG IPS235P-BN 23" which had an impressive stand and sturdy construction, but not only bled worse than this monitor, it had a translucent diagonal crosshatch pattern you could see on white/gray backgrounds from certain angles and obvious striping on light blue/green colors. These cheap IPS monitors are not sandwitched well and I find flexing the panel a little makes this obvious as the whole thing can go a silvery gray from back light bleed (or be pretty a good black if you flex the other way). If severe LG IPS backlight bleeding is luck of the draw, I have lost twice.
