1 out of 5 eggsHDMI does not work properly

Pros: DVI works great, crisp picture and easy to adjust settings

Cons: HDMI connection does not use entire screen, about 2 inches of black border

Other Thoughts: Great monitor except that the reason I bought it, the HDMI, does not work as advertised. LG support tried to place blame with my video card (all drivers on system are up to date, and the HDMI cable connection works flawlessly to my Toshiba television. LG wants me to send the monitor that I've had for less than 16 hours to them for a replacement which leaves me without a monitor until they get around to sending me a replacement.

1 out of 5 eggsDoesn't Work with HDMI

Pros: Works fine with DVI.

Cons: Doesn't work with HDMI. Doesn't give a no signal message, just displays a black screen. Buttons (aside from power) don't do anything at all. Making it impossible to try to change the input type, even though I'm certain it autodetected and switched to HDMI already.

The booklet that you receive with this monitor says:
"If you use HDMI PC, it can cause compatibility problem".

Other Thoughts: OK monitor if you don't plan to use an HDMI cord for it. For the first week of owning this I was using DVI until I got a HDMI-mini to HDMI cord for my GTS450 to plug into this. Once I tried to make the switch I couldn't, since this monitor just black screens. If you are buying this solely for the HDMI, as I did, DON"T.

2 out of 5 eggsSomewhat disappointed

Pros: It's bright. It turns on and off. It's got an HDMI port. Has a semi-adjustable stand. Autodetects the signal between the VGA and HDMI ports, so you don't have to switch manually.

Cons: The VGA port gives the picture a ghost image, like you can get from an off-air television signal. I don't see this problem with the HDMI port, at least.

Other Thoughts: Overall, I think it's a good monitor for HDMI use, but if you plan to use the VGA connection too, keep shopping.
