4 out of 5 eggsI like it, but I don't love it

Pros: lots of screen real-estate. has vesa mounts. includes speakers. picture is good.

Cons: The screen controls are difficult to use. They are soft touch sensitive buttons and just trying to find the buttons activates the controls. (I had read reviews about this, but I didn't think it would be a deal breaker - just annoying).
There is only on display port connection, so if you want to daisy chain, this one would need to be last on the chain. (I knew this when I purchased).
Does not have height adjustment. (There is a model that has it, but this one was on sale and that one was not).
LG screen split will not work on my Lenovo T430 laptop (display port connection - win7. could be a conflict with some other software).
Requires a power brick rather than building PSU into monitor.

Other Thoughts: I bought this for the screen real estate - alternative to having multiple monitor setup, however I feel the monitor is too wide for desktop use, in a multi-monitor environment I would have angled the screens for better viewing (I wear progressive lenses) I should have spent more and purchased a 27" 2560x1200 screen that would provide same horizontal resolution and give me more vertically. I think the pixel density would probably be ideal on the 27" higher res display.

5 out of 5 eggsBeautiful Screen!

Pros: The colors are beautiful. The size is magnificent and perfect for my table. I was debating two monitors, but when i saw this at the reduced price of about 400 dollars, I jumped on it.
It came with no dead pixels or any damage at all.

Cons: I bought an HDMI cable just to make sure that my computer got the full resolution possible, but I am not 100% sure it was necessary.

5 out of 5 eggsBeautiful Picture

Pros: This monitor came in perfect condition and had zero dead pixels. The picture is amazing and gets extremely bright. Being IPS, the viewing angle is also great. Aesthetics are nice and it's a great substiture for dual monitors.

The built-in speakers are loud, but lack the bass that would be present if using a set of speakers with a sub woofer (duh). Overall the speakers are adequate and I have no complaints.

I have this paired up with a GTX770 and can play all of my games at max or near max settings at 2560x1080. I think this monitor really shines in first person games since the extra width allows a better peripheral view.

Cons: Third party support for the 21:9 aspect ratio isn't quite all there yet, so I would recommend checking up on whatever it is that you plan on doing or playing to make sure it supports 21:9 to really get the most out of this monitor.

Other Thoughts: I don't know if I would purchase this at $650, but for ~$380 it is an awesome deal and I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't need the extra vertical space that going to 2560x1440 would offer.

3 out of 5 eggsColor is off

Pros: Good design
Good quality
Good size

Cons: Cannot complete color calibration

My setup is
Mac -> mini display port to display port adapter -> LG monitor
color is way off, and truecolor find does not work, saying cannot find monitor or sth.
Wish some one would be able to help me calibrate it without addtional color calibration hardware, before I decide to return the device.

4 out of 5 eggsgreat picture and widescreen

Pros: after playing at 21:9 its hard to go back to 16:9.

the extra space on the sides comes in very handy in games and in putting windows side by side.

people say they miss the height. well, i compensated for that by putting the task bar on the side. and when i want to see the rest of the web page, i scroll. :)

you can hide the task bar too. that helps. but i like it showing so that's why i put it on the side.

there are pros and cons though for sure. i have a dual monitor setup. actually this and a 37in 1080p TV. so when i really miss the size of the screen and height - i do whatever i'm doing on my tv. otherwise i use this 29in.

Cons: slight corner backlight bleed in the two left corners. enough that whenever the screen is dark, i notice the light hint in the corners.

5 out of 5 eggsUltrawide Setup

Pros: If you have limited desk space (I live in a single bedroom corner apt) I frankly believe you cannot beat a single Ultrawide setup in any flavor. The screen real estate feels fantastic and I don't personally feel the slightly shorter viewing area is enough to knock the display.

My monitor did ship with a DUAL LINK DVI cable in the box so my MSI 560Ti 2GB/OC card had no trouble going straight to 2560x1080.

Great value if you can snag one of these under $400 like I did with a promo code and shell shocker deal.

Cons: Feels a little flimsy due to the size. I handled this with utmost care when installing the pedestal

There is no vertical height adjustment component so you may have to find an alternative means to raising your display if your ergonomics require it (there is however a tilt component which is nice)

Other than that, so far you can't beat it!

Other Thoughts: I initially received one of these broken via UPS and had to file a claim the same day (sad face). HOWEVER Newegg CS was the most helpful and thorough claims process I've run across. The rep had my claim processed and a new unit shipped the next day after verifying carrier damage via some photos I took of the box and the display. So 5 eggs to Newegg CS too!

This monitor fits my needs perfectly. I do not have the desk space for a dual monitory set up so I opted for an ultrawide configuration and am loving it. I have not noticed any light bleed from the corners and upon testing a variety of dead pixel background I have not found a single negative issue.

My last words would be to BE CAREFUL when moving and putting together the stand as the display is large and awkward to grab without feeling like you're putting pressure on the panel itself.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid Impulse Buy

Pros: Size, Price, Connections, IPS, response time, and good built in speakers.

Cons: Lack of support for 20:9 ratio on console gaming (I know, it's not made for that).
Has true color finder application for PC, but not enough display presets built into monitor itself.

Other Thoughts: I was looking for an alternative to Apples' Thunder monitors since I plan to switch to mac later this year. Had my sight set on an Asus monitor with similar specs when this display popped up in the suggestions one day. The price (Sale), connections, built in speaker review, and screen splitter w/ Mac compatibly stamp made me jump on this. I won't have my Mac for some time, so I'm not able to make a complete review. Flawlessly took the place of my dual screen setup in my living room! PS4 doesn't do 20:9, but I'm getting used to it and it still looks pretty good. Have it hooked up to Wife's Win 8 laptop for now, and it makes Windows 8 look good. The most important thing is when products drop in price like this it means it's on its way to being discontinued. Probably has something to do with the 4K movement on the horizon. Good chance to pick this monitor up for below $400, but there are similar spec models out there that may give you more of what you're looking for. I would suggest this monitor to someone spending in that price range, but would look elsewhere if asking price is more. .

5 out of 5 eggsLove it!

Pros: Beautiful picture quality and colors. Great for gaming, as long as games support the awkward resolution. Photoshop is nice on it - plenty of room for work space on one side, and tools on another. No noticeable motion blur on FPS gaming. Bought this as an alternative to a multi-monitor setup. Definitely a step up from my old Samsung 27" LED monitor, visually.

Cons: You do seem to lose some vertical work space, as it's about 3 inches smaller, vertically, than my old 27" monitor. Awkward resolution, so I'm hoping application support doesn't eventually die, as these ultra-wide monitors don't seem to be too popular.

Other Thoughts: I've been wanting to get one of these ultra-wide monitors for a couple years now. Now that the prices are half of what they were, I finally decided to pull the trigger. Glad I did. If you're looking for a triple monitor setup with this as your center monitor and 2 16:9 monitors, it seems that the 21.5" IPS monitors from LG match the vertical size the closest (bezel included, without stand), if you're looking for cosmetic continuity.

5 out of 5 eggsHappy Owner

Pros: Screen Size is great. Clarity and colors are amazing, response time is good. connectivity in the back is awesome with a DP1.2 , two HDMIs and a DVI as well as USB ports and headphone jack. IPS screen has ultra thin bezel on the edges but this is mostly cosmetic(See other thoughts). comes with software to use monitor up to a 4 way screen split. awesome built in speakers, probably best I have seen on a monitor although I don't use them...

Cons: full asking price(650$). I think this monitor is a great buy for the 400 - 500 it is usually for sale on most sites, even better with an extra discount for holidays and promo codes which I was able to get it for right under 400$.

Other Thoughts: Even though the bezel on the screen is ultra thin, the screen doesn't extend all the way to the edge. part of the screen itself becomes the bezel with the image stopping at about a half inch or so from the edge on the left side, right and top. bottom extends all the way to the lower frame portion though.. this isn't really a con because it isn't even noticeable and it does increase the aesthetic. I have used 16:10 screens for almost a decade so adjusting to the 21:9 will take time, at first it is very strange losing the screen space on the top/bottom but having the extra on the sides makes gaming more immersive and may ultimately end up being better. time will tell. very happy so far!

4 out of 5 eggsLG 29EA73-P Black 29" 5ms HDMI Widescreen LED Backlight LCD Monitor IPS 300 cd/m2 5,000,000:1 Built-in Speakers

Pros: Very nice clean picture. I have not had any issues with the screen split working as others have mentioned. Worked awesome right out of the box. It is used for daily computing, reading news shopping on Newegg etc. Also used for light gaming. StarCraft II and Diablo III mostly and it renders fine.

Cons: Only negative is the light bleed on the corners. Like others I have noticed this. On mine it is only really noticeable during shutdown. It does not effect the picture quality during use. Also would have been nice to have back lit control buttons.

Other Thoughts: Overall very worth the price. Works as it should and very high quality build. This monitor is nice to look at when it is on or off.
