5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cheap, IPS panel, HDMI and built in speakers work well with my PS3 when wanting to use for that.

4 out of 5 eggsgood monitor for the price

Pros: 1: excellent price, I got it on sale for $99

2: colors are vibrant and blacks are black. It's what you'd expect from a standard ips. It's just as good as my Samsung 27" 2560x1440 pls monitor I use from what I can tell but I don't do any type of work on it involving the need for color accuracy so I'm not as experienced in that as some people are.

3: bezels aren't thick

4: haven't noticed any ghosting or anything during gaming

5: can overclock to 96hz no problem

Cons: Inputs are lacking. Only one vga and one hdmi

Other Thoughts: I bought this for my mother because her job requires her to work at home sometimes when she's not at her office. She just turned 47 and her eyesight isn't the best and she uses a 10" netbook to work on at home and she needed something she could see a little better. When I got it in I kept it a couple days to test it out before giving it to her and everything seems to work perfectly

3 out of 5 eggsScreen Size is misleading

Pros: It seems like a decent monitor for the price.

Cons: This is not a 22" monitor. It is a '22" class' monitor. The monitor measures 21.5" from corner to corner. If you are getting this monitor to put together a dual monitor setup, make sure that you are matching the screen sizes.

4 out of 5 eggsInitial issues, eventually fixed

Pros: 1) Looks quite high. I'm not that experienced with monitors but I'm certainly satisfied with the display's visual-wise

2) Easy to set up. Shipped quickly

3) Very cheap ($99 when I bought it)

This monitor, when it first came in, looked absolutely awful. Colors were completely off. It was absolutely horrible. Here are the settings I found that made it look a LOT better.

1) Brightness: 75
2) Contrast: 70
4) Gamma: Gamma1 (this is the middle option)

Once these settings were applied, the monitor looks much better. Before then, it is absolute garbage. Calibration is needed.

2 out of 5 eggsBeware

Pros: It worked.

Calibration issues can be sorted out.

Name Brand.

Extremely light weight!! (unsure if that's a good thing)

Cons: Maybe it's bad luck, but this monitor has been plagued with issues.

1) The color was all off. Monitors always need calibration, but you rarely expect one to arrive with a sickening green tint to everything.

2) Since this monitor doesn't have an dvi connection, and many graphics cards don't have the old vga connections as an option anymore, You may have a problem. This monitor only comes with a vga cord, you have to ensure you have a cord ready to go since it also fails to come with an adapter.

3) The hdmi connection is garbage. If I tap on the cord, or sometimes even bump the desk, the connection gets jostled and flashes black screen. This /might/ be bad luck in manufacturing this particular monitor or a design flaw. Hard to say.

4) The vga cable it does come with is on the short side. If you have a multi monitor set up you're probably in trouble depending on where you intend to place the monitor. Easy to imagine this not reaching many set ups.

Other Thoughts: Possible the monitor is just defective. However since this monitor is to replace another LG monitor, I'm uncertain if I should replace it or go with another brand.

5 out of 5 eggsMonitor LG

Pros: This monitor is a really nice one for the money. IPS full HD 1080, great contrast perfectly fine for budget gaming

Cons: Really none at all at this point.

Other Thoughts: Its better to have a smaller monitor with a better panel then a say 24 in TN glossy

1 out of 5 eggsScreen faulty

Pros: Good size

Cons: Screen fades from time to time - during a darker scene of a movie for example - and there's no way to change it or turn it off. Also the screen is really dull compared to a normal laptop screen (MBA) and as a result makes it harder to use without straining your eyes.

Pay a little more and get a better quality monitor!

5 out of 5 eggsDelievery Was Fast!

Pros: I have yet to try this thing out as I am still acquiring parts for my build. I plugged it in to make sure it was not DOA and it came on to the default screen. No scratches, dings or dents. The shipping ( even though I used egg saver) was super fast. Will update this once I get my system up and running. So far I am pleased.

Cons: N/a

Other Thoughts: I have yet to put the stand together for it but it does seem a bit thin. I wont take an egg off for that till I get to use it and see how it really does.

5 out of 5 eggsIncredible

Pros: -Price
-Looks Great
-Solid Stand, doesn't wobble much.
-Bezel isn't offensive, not too large or too glossy.
-Matte Screen
-Brilliant Color
-Bright Whites
-Deep Blacks
-Solid Response Time for gaming
-Great Color Reproduction

Cons: -No DVI input.

Honestly, who uses VGA still? The only reason I can think of is for older laptops without an HDMI output or something. I would have preferred an HDMI and DVI input but seeing as most computers, as well as my rig, have HDMI out, it's not a problem.

-Viewing Angle. The angle at which you can see the picture is excellent, but it gets a bit washed out, especially with darker images, the more extreme the angle becomes.

Other Thoughts: Preface:
There's a reason why this monitor was going to get 5 Stars anyways. The monitor I'm comparing this too (and replaced it with) is an 8 Year old Sceptre / DCLCD TN Panel. Still has the "Vista Compatible" sticker on it. I never really thought it'd be necessary to get a new monitor but I had some extra cash so I thought I'd treat myself to something nice. So basically, anything is a step up from what I had before.

I have to be honest, I was a little skeptical buying an IPS panel. You see, I use my computer for a lot of different tasks. Surfing the web, Facebook, watching HD movies, writing code, doing lots of homework, and in my spare time I like to get a few rounds of Battlefield 4 in. I've read over and over that IPS panels were not the best for gaming, so that was my main concern. This monitor was recommended to me by someone on another website, and now, I'd buy them a beer if I could.

LG makes great TVs and expect the same quality when purchasing one of their monitors. I currently have my old monitor next to it (dual displays) and I cringe every time I look at it. My thoughts are "Why didn't I do this sooner?". Everything is much more crisp and rich. I now see colors I've never seen before. The whites are excellent and vibrant, the blacks deep and they contrast extremely well. The display is large enough to multitask on, writing reports or programs is a pleasure to do. I found myself searching tirelessly for new wallpapers to show off the capabilities of this monitor. It seriously is beautiful.

A major concern of mine was gaming performance, but the 5ms response time is more then enough to keep my worries at bay. Battlefield 4 looks terrific with eye popping color and everything seems to have a bit more depth or definition. Thermal vision is extremely vibrant now, targets in white really stand out from the rest of the greys and blacks. It's really a night and day difference. I have not noticed any blurring, ghosting or input lag in-game.

Overall, I got this monitor for a hell of a deal and it was worth every penny. It's truly a pleasure every time I login to Windows now. Couldn't be happier.
