4 out of 5 eggsnice but...

Pros: - 2560 x 1080 not much more taxing for videocard
- 21:9 format great for movies can add to immersion in games
- height adjustment

Cons: - IPS glow: always hated it since it's annoying in dark scenes (movies and gaming) and at this size (29" - ultrawide) I think it's an even bigger deal. For me personally was a dealbreaker...

Other Thoughts: Got rid of it and bought a 27" VA panel. Sure, I lost the extra pixels but.. IPS glow = never again....

4 out of 5 eggsFirst Run, DVI Connection ALL Green

Pros: OK, Pro's,
I like the width and the option to go vertical. I like the split screen options (8) different splits. It's was worth the sale price. I have played movies and games, all good. Shipping was good, nothing broken or dead pix. I will update as it gets more use.

Cons: OK, Con's
DvI connection was green, almost like it wasn't plugged in all the way.I have a 10ft DVI Cable. I tried both ends (flipped around). Plugged in all the way, still green screen, I could see the desktop, everything green. Plugged in the HDMI cable and screen back to normal. Display port ok with normal screen color. Both HDMI and Display port will not go full resolution.
Checked video card, fine with DVI on 2 other screens I own. So maybe Need Different style DVI, one with more pins. I gave it 4 stars for that trouble. I'm going to email LG tech support see what I need.
I would have still bought this screen and I'm happy with it. The video's and gaming, i'm ok with other resolutions and they look great.

Other Thoughts: It was worth the sale price, I'm going to see another cable or just upgrade video card. Either or Both. So go ahead and buy it, it Good!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5 out of 5 eggsIt was better than I expected....

Pros: I bought this to replace an older 22" HP LCD monitor, other than just the sheer size, the IPS panel is worlds apart from the older tech, colours are better, viewing angle is amazing. I was initially sceptical of going from 16:10 to 16:9, but honestly I don't even notice the difference. Everything is super bright and clear. In the past few days I've used mine for playing video games, as well as coding, both are so much nicer now. I know I've only had the monitor a few days, so if anything goes wrong i'll update the review.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: The OSD menu is a little tricky to get the hang of at first, but once you have it it isn't too bad. I'd have still preferred a separate "select button" and power buttons. Not enough to remove an egg for though.

4 out of 5 eggsCould have been great, but still nice!

Pros: Beautiful detail on screen, great horizontal length, IPS display, 3 year warranty. Assassin's Creed looks incredible! Monitor has no bad pixels. Newegg got this to my door in a single day! Wow................

Cons: Only one, but significant. The vertical length is less than 13 inches. Coming from a 24" 1900 x 1200, I'm actually missing the extra inch in vertical length from my 24".

Other Thoughts: Got this on sale for Black Friday with VISA checkout. This will hold me over while 4k IPS panels mature and drop in price. I plan on picking one up for Black Friday 2015.

1 out of 5 eggsSigh... Black Friday, must return?

Pros: Well, it turns on.

Cons: Monitor has a dark shadow the size of a baseball on the mid-bottom-right. It as if there are lights which shine up from the bottom which "light" the monitor, but a light-bulb is out kind of look.

It does this upon powering on (even without input), tried multiple inputs, tried GPU w/ different monitor with no problem. Tried different power settings; tried different power supply to monitor. No avail.

Customer support is closed so ill have to wait until tomorrow to determine whether they have any idea what's going on.

Other Thoughts: Oh well. If I got a faulty one, so be it, so long as they get me a working one I will re-review as appropriate!

5 out of 5 eggsSimply put, LG's 21:9 monitors are a must for professionals.

Pros: The resolution is enough to run (and create) cinemascope size content. The IPS panel makes colors really pop *as it should, and accurately. Fairly light weight. Ability to use in landsape or portrait.

Cons: The lack of universal 3 prong female power connectors is a bit of a downer, especially in offices switching over.

Other Thoughts: My design studio uses the bigger brothers (34UC97 and 34UM95) at every workstation, as well as a few of these interspersed and let me tell you, if you are a professional of any kind, these are great. I use them with Premiere, After Effects, Maya, 3DS Max, Visual Studio, and since we switched, our productivity is up by a significant amount. I purchased one of these models for my personal use today. LG makes the best 21:9 monitors, and we've tried whats out there as far as professional monitors. That being said, for those who are simply looking for a new monitor, you'd be much better off buying a normal 1080p or 1440p 16:9 monitor, as the usage will better fit you. For professionals this, and every model we've used will blow anything else away.

5 out of 5 eggs29" of spreadsheet heaven!

Pros: This is a great ultra-wide monitor. Love it! If you do any spreadsheet work, this is the monitor for you. The stand has both height/tilt as well as rotation capability and is pretty sturdy.

Cons: Speakers are almost useless, get some external speakers and do your ears a favor.
I'm not sure how useful the rotation option but hey, it's available if you want it.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic monitor

Pros: Massive screen, amazing color replication. Really nice stand, feels sturdy. Bought this monitor largely for work from home, but gaming on it is very immersive. Small bezel, about 1/2" all around. OSD is nice, functions pretty easily. If anyone was looking at the pics trying to figure out where the power button is, it's directly underneath the LG logo, subdued. That's kind of nice to maintain a clean shape. Greatly enjoy this monitor.

Cons: Lowest the monitor goes down is about 13 inches tall including stand. Not a huge deal, it just barely fits in the furniture I'm using it with, but it would be nice to go down lower. Doesn't use a standard monitor power cable. It requires its own small power brick (included). These aren't enough of a complaint to dock an egg.

Other Thoughts: I bought this monitor when it was on crazy sale and had a coupon. Price was $350. For that price, this monitor is a steal.

1 out of 5 eggsSeriously?

Pros: Display itself is superb, and so is it's stand

Cons: NO DISPLAY PORT CABLE INCLUDED (Required for 2560 * 1080)

The most the other connections will push is 1920 * 1080

Absolutely ruins the experience of setting this thing up only to realize you've been jipped on the cheapest accessory. Must now wait to get a display port cable.

3 out of 5 eggsDisappointing virtical size

Pros: Wide, good color and picture from what I could see.

Cons: Short and squashed looking.

Other Thoughts: FYI I do not own one of these monitors. I've looking looking to get a wide format display for a while and the price on this looked right, however I could not find any reviews except the one here. A local BB had them in stock and on display so I went to have a first hand look...and..well... while nice and wide it's disappointingly short on the vertical, a good 3 inches short of my currently Samsug T260 and S24B300, which just turned out to be a deal breaker in the end. I could not say much about performance as all they had was a demo video playing through a roku or something, but the picture was bright and fairly crisp but still just a video. I'm likely going to go with the 34inch version of this monitor depending on how the reviews turn out. I can't say this is a good or bad monitor in terms of performance, and you could get used to the smaller vertical. So, just be warned that it's not quite as big as it sounds.
