5 out of 5 eggsA fantastic value for the price

Pros: Great color, very responsive, absolutely stunning picture quality, no dead pixels, and great, fast service from Newegg. I bought one of these a few months back, and was so impressed with it that I bought a second one about three weeks later. I've been happily using both of them ever since, and I'd say that they're easily the best monitors I've owned. The Dell monitors that I have at work have a shorter response time and a much higher contrast ratio, but these monitors look noticeably better, in my opinion.

Cons: The stand is a little bit sketchy. If I bump my desk, the monitor wobbles a bit for a few seconds. It's not bad enough that I'm ever in fear of the thing falling over, but it's a little shaky sometimes. Additionally, the stand doesn't adjust much, so you're pretty much stuck with the same height and some very limited flexibility in changing the screen angle.

Other Thoughts: All in all, a fantastic buy, especially if you can find them on sale.

4 out of 5 eggsGood deal on sale

Pros: They're what you'd ask for in a basic 24 inch monitor:

-No stuck or dead pixels
-No artifacts or trails
-Consistent backlighting

I purchased a pair, and with matching settings, they mirror each other completely, as they should.

Cons: Mostly minor stuff, but it adds up depending on the price:

-Slightly hazy feeling looking at pictures. No issue with text, and hard to put a finger on, but kind of like looking through a window sometimes.
-These are quite tall, and there is no height adjustment (more than 4 inches of ground clearance between monitor and desk).
-The factory settings on these are ludicrously bad (see "Other Thoughts")

Other Thoughts: Regarding settings... the monitor ships with max brightness, and auto-dimming is turned on with no documentation about that fact. Check one of the earliest reviews for how to turn it off - it's buried in the menus pretty badly. Even at 50% brightness, these are still on the upper level of what I would want to deal with - 100% (preset) was painful to have in the room.

As people have mentioned, it only has VGA and HDMI inputs - no DVI. I don't mark this a con, because it is clearly stated in the specs. They work fine with a DVI-HDMI converter cable.

I purchased a pair of these monitors for $100 each during the 4th of July sale. At that price, they are worth every penny. I would not pay full price (currently $250) for them - there are better monitors available in that range. They are however four stars, because I didn't buy a $100 LG TN panel expecting a $1000 Dell IPS panel. For what I paid, they're great.

I use these as the wings of a three monitor setup. I don't know that I'd want one as the primary, but they're an excellent option for inexpensive extra real estate when on sale.

Pros: Hi res monitor, I use this in the dual monitor setting. Gives a very nice big real estate. very good price

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: using as a dual monitor, very nice monitor with 2560x1600 resolution.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat screen, with minor flaws

Pros: Great screen for the price (bought two at a summer sale) even with only a 1000:1 contrast ratio. Blacks are great in a well lit room, although slightly less so in a darker room.

The look of the monitors are definitely a highlight. The slightly matte/scratched metal finish of the bezels give it a premium feel, and the monitors are one of the thinnest I've ever owned.

Cons: Only has HDMI and VGA input, so I had to go buy HDMI cables to plug in, as I'm not very fond of VGA input. I honestly have no idea why VGA is still a standard. I've heard some people had HDMI cables included in the box, but mine only came with VGA, so I guess it depends on your location?

Colors vary *very very very* slightly depending on the viewing angle of the screen. Most people will not notice at all for normal use, but I went through extensive testing and calibration of my monitors to get the best quality possible (my screens seemed to have a little bit of a warmer color palette out of the box, although that may vary from person to person).

Other Thoughts: One last thing that also may be just me, but both of my LED screens seem to be a bit off center after closer inspection. I have a small but noticeable dark band on the far left of my screen, as well as the top. The only reason I saw it was because I noticed my windows taskbar was not extending to the edge of the screen and I thought it may have just been that my image was offset, but I disconnected the screen to check and realized that it wasn't me. It is kind of a bother so I docked off a point, but I'm assuming it is just bad luck on my part.

3 out of 5 eggsIt's definitely big

Pros: Does what a monitor is supposed to do.

Cons: Occasionally the colors randomly invert and it's like you're in a zombie movie. Powering off or resetting the display settings does not solve it, although unplugging does. Not sure why this happens.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Monitor!

Pros: Picture quality is amazing.. The screen is a lot bigger than i initially anticipated. Very bright screen. I got this product on sale for $109 but would gladly have paid the full price of $170

Cons: Settings are kinda confusing but looks great once you get it all figured out

Other Thoughts: Everyone complaining on their reviews about the screen dimming. They obviously don't know how to change the settings because its in there =D

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent monitor for the money

Pros: Very bright, clear, excellent color

Cons: Menu not the easiest to navigate, which explains some of the negative reviews.

Other Thoughts: After reading some of the reviews and owning the unit my conclusion is this:
First, read the manual and set the screen up the way you want it before anything else (menu options).
Second: Be sure you have a decent video card. With an ATI card be sure to make adjustments in the "My Digital Flat Panels" section of Catalyst Control Center

4 out of 5 eggsGood monitor but weird feature

Pros: Very cheap for the size.
Picture quality is very good once you adjust the factory setting. (see "Con" for detail)

Cons: The factory pre-setting was totally weird.
When I received the monitor and turned it on, everything on the screen looked too bright, and the black colors were looked all bright grey. So I thought the monitor itself was defect;
However, once I changed the "Color Temp" to "Medium" then everything looked natural and normal. I don't understand why the preset was at that bright level.
One more.
Like the other reviewer here said; when we watch movie, the monitor itself darken the screen when the movie is dark, and brighten it when the movie is bright. This is somewhat bothering and I don't know why it is doing it. I don't see any control at the setting to adjust this.
This is a useless technology that LG put into this monitor that can actually bother most of the customers. Hell with you LG.

Other Thoughts: The monitor itself was very cheap during the July 4th sale period, and for the size and picture quality, the price was very cheap. However, the self darkening/brightening feature that this monitor exclusively have, is bothering me a lot and I really wish I could turn it off, but LG did not put any control for the feature, forcing the customer to use it. So I am taking 2 eggs out only for that reason.

2 out of 5 eggsColor very inconsistent

Pros: Very lightweight, extremely good price ($120). Received the monitors the next day (thanks Newegg!)

Cons: The colors on this monitor are very inconsistent. If you have a solid color on the monitor, the color you see varies dramatically depending on whether you are looking at the center of the screen or the edges. If you move your head to different areas of the screen and view from different angles, you will see the color change. For use with development of web pages, this was unacceptable, as I needed to be able to accurately view the colors that my designer was giving to me.

I attempted to use the color calibration utilities that the manufacturer provided, but there were not that many options available to configure when using the HDMI input.

Other Thoughts: I ended up RMAing 2 of these monitors, and replacing them with 2 Dell U2414H monitors, and am extremely satisfied with those monitors.
