Yes.  I plugged in my old VGA cord into the "D-Sub" port on the back of this monitor and connected it to an older computer and it works.  Perhaps someone more technologically savvy can explain if there is a difference, or why the VGA ports on newer monitors are listed as "D-Sub".

Does this monitor come with a VGA and/or HDMI cable?

The monitor came with a VGA cable with D-Sub connector (15 pin).  Cable was about 3 feet (1 meter) long.  Not very long, so your cpu and monitor must be pretty close to each other.

Monitor has a HDMI connection, but does not come with the cable.

Does this monitor have built-in speakers?

No it does not have speakers..

Does it come with a thunder bolt cable?

No, but there are adaptors that should work.

I have heard that this monitor has serious light bleeding. It is true? Is it why this monitor is so cheap?

I have not experienced any problems with the performance of this monitor.  The color of this monitor is exceptional and well worth the few extra dollars above a standard TN monitor.  The color calibration of the monitor is a tedious (for me) excise but once completed it looks great.

What is the refresh rate?

I recall it being 60Hz but you do not buy a IPS monitor for high speed refresh rates. Their strong suits are clarity, color depth and a wide viewing angle.

Question 7

Why are the picture and color options in the second menu not available? I'm using a VGA cable. Are these settings only available when I'm using an HDMI connection? I'm talking about settings like color temperature, sharpness, etc.

I can see the options but they are grey as if they're inactive buttons.

Yes; standard (small) configuration for wall or frame mounting.
