5 out of 5 eggsBeautiful monitor

Pros: - The curve is just right, not noticeable
- Pixel density is at a sweet spot for not requiring DPI changes in Windows
- Color reproduction is great since it's IPS
- Flicker free is a nice bonus
- Minimal backlight/IPS bleed
- No dead pixels
- Very nice build quality

Cons: - Stand is not height adjustable
- Had some issues with Displayport and R9 290, flickering, which is due to a displayport cable issue (using 20 pin displayport cable instead of 19 pin). Recommend getting a 19pin displayport cable if you intend to use this with an r9 290 series card.

5 out of 5 eggsLG 34UC97 is SWEET

Pros: Great visuals, love the IPS screen - first time coming from an old HP 2207 monitor that still works today, hope this LG lasts just as long! I just wish more games were configured for 21x9!

Cons: I really dont like the controls on the bottom, under the screen and really for the most expensive monitor we should be able to make it vertical like some of the less expensive LG 21x9 models.

Other Thoughts: As far as light bleed in the corners, I am really not seeing the problem, looking it from a normal viewing angle I do see something that looks like light bleed, but as soon as I move my head my head to the corners, its the same color as where I saw right before the color change, I am wondering if it has to do with the matt finish rather than IPS screen itself or maybe they fixed it since this one was built in April of 15

5 out of 5 eggsOne Must have Monitor

Pros: has everything I need in a monitor, Even for gaming. this is a step up from 1920 x 1080 world.. OM Goodness.

Cons: the only con I found is no height adjustment , but a simple tilt up or down fixes that. and you do have the VESA mount option.

Other Thoughts: Do your due diligence for you needs. if possible go to you local computer or electronics retailer and compare personally. I looked at the Dell and Samsung 34" Curved as well. I'm very very happy with my selection of the LG.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Purchase

Pros: This monitor does well for my needs, which is primarily browsing, email, and movies. I am not a gamer so I have no comment towards that end. The clarity is great, large space wonderful, and the curve brings it all into focus.

Cons: not really a con for me, though I agree with others that for the price it should not exist, that being the bleed thru in the corners. I have it in the top L and R on black screen, it was weeks until I actually saw it, and the next moment with different scene it was not detectable, doesn't bother me beyond thinking it shouldn't be there at all.

Other Thoughts: the flat 34" is much cheaper, even so, I am glad I opted for the curved version. If I decide to build out a 'theater' in my living room, I will likely choose a curved screen for that as well.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitor

Pros: -HUGE
-Great color
-So much work space

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Simply put, I love this monitor. The colors on this thing are amazing. Fortunately, mine has not had the light bleed issues some have complained about.

5 out of 5 eggsLG 34UC97

Pros: I was initially a bit nervous about ordering this monitor because of the mixed reviews especially with respect to the backlight bleed issue, but I must say I was actually very impressed with this monitor.

-The colors of the IPS panel are stunning, truly stunning to experience. Watching videos online do not do it justice, it's one of those things that are best seen in person.

-Screen real estate is prime, I find the 3440x1440 resolution to be spot on for multi-tab tasks. Three full sized Web pages can be viewed side by side by side.

-Most games support the resolution natively, and depending on the specific game...wow! What an incredible experience

-Built in speakers are pretty nice for well...built in speakers.

I personally found the screen split software to be both useful and well executed.

Cons: Marginal IPS glow, which is important to note is NOT the same as backlight bleed. All back lit, and edge lit LED IPS panels will have some degree of IPS glow. For me, I experienced some minor glow from the top left corner, but really it is only noticeable in completely dark scenes and even then just a very small section of the corner. I guess I was lucky with backlight bleed or perhaps production run issues have been corrected. so ultimately for me, not really a big con.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor for general productivity

Pros: Great for general productivity

Cons: Not as good as it could be. Should be an OLED monitor.

Other Thoughts: For the money, this should be an OLED monitor. That would get rid of the light leak problem that others have observed that can ruin watching a space movie like Gravity in a darkened room. But it's an awesome monitor for general productivity. Spreadsheet jockeys will love it.

4 out of 5 eggsGaming Heaven

Pros: 3440x1440 resolution makes games look amazing.
Most games support the 21x9 ratio. Only Call of Duty doesn't for me so far. Their engine is out of date, so that didn't surprise me.

I do not get the white in the corners or any of the other complains people are mentioning. I am using a single Display Port cable to attach it. Perhaps some of those with issues are using HDMI?

Cons: Price.

Requires a lot of graphic horsepower to play games on ultra settings at this resolution.

A Single 980 SC Does the trick for most part but Crysis engine games struggled to maintain 40-50 FPS.

I added a second 980 SC and it's pure heaven.

Other Thoughts: If you're a hardcore gamer I would expect at least the purchase of a good video card to go along with this monitor.

Most games would run with settings cranked all the way up at at least 40FPS. Some more efficient games like Battlefield 4 would run at almost 100FPS but never dropped below 70fps.

The most I would have to disable is AA and Aniostropic filtering.

4 out of 5 eggsgreat monitor, but not sure if it is worth the price

Pros: very nice size and form factor, good software for my Macbook (Retina 13"). Overall very good picture

Cons: Price: The overall screen area is about the same as 2x24"
curvature: much less noticeable then I thought. The monitor is much more curved in the back then the front

Other Thoughts: This is a great monitor to watch movies, and to get a large seamless widescreen display for coding. The software that comes with it can split the screen in multiple smaller areas which is great so you can "maximize" windows in different areas (but not with Apple's "full screen" mode).

The connectors are not bad, and the cover makes for decent cable management.

In hindsight, maybe I should have gotten 2 high quality 27" monitors or the "flat" version of this monitor.

The screen is about twice the size as a 24" monitor (pretty much the same hight as my 24" monitor)

Works great with a 13" macbook pro.

1 out of 5 eggsExtreme light bleeding

Pros: Huge and beautiful

Cons: Just horrible back bleed from 3 of the 4 corners, no matter how I calibrate it or change settings.

And I don't mean your normal IPS glow. I wish I read up since some many people are having this same issues with this monitor and the 34UM95.

LG really dropped the ball on quality control with what could have been an amazing monitor.
