4 out of 5 eggsWorks Great once in windows

Pros: Great LCD for the price. Plenty bright and nice color. No ghosting or mouse lag in UT2004 BF2 and WoW.

Cons: menu navigation on the monitor bites. Do not expect to switch inputs easily. No image during post. The monitor does not scale down the post screen to the center of the panel like my 19" LCD does.

Other Thoughts: I would still purchase this LCD knowing what I know now. I have had this a few months and I still get a bit of wow this is nice feeling after coming home from working on the 19" widescreen at my desk.

5 out of 5 eggsAcer 24" widescreen

Pros: Wonderful color, great for gamers, I play CS:Source online alot and even with a game that is somewhat fast paced there is not ghosting at all. I am glad I purchased this and not the samsung that was twice as much.

Cons: None at all.

Other Thoughts: If your looking for a good gaming widescreen monitor, dont pay twice as much for another, buy this one, it is well worth it.

5 out of 5 eggsOutstanding Quality and Value

Pros: Beautiful picture and color. Light weight. Tilt adjust is key. Outstanding quality for the price.

Cons: Wish it had TV tuner built in, but let's not get carried away.

Other Thoughts: I currently have two of these badboys in my project studio. they are perfect for audio and graphic art production. I looked at the Samsung 24" and decided to go with these instead. I save almost $400 and can't even tell the difference between the two.

5 out of 5 eggsGood bye Samsung

Pros: I have been a Samsung fan for the past 13 years, and this is the first monitor that outperforms Samsung. I just built a new system with a XFX PVT71UZDF9 Geforce 7950GX2 1GB 512-bit (256-bit x2) GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Xtreme Video Card and this monitor does this graphic card justice.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsReally Happy!

Pros: No dead pixels.
Gaming quality, no log, no ghosting, brilliant images. Full brightness is enough to make toast, I turned it down below 50%. 1920x1200 native! Height adjustment isn't needed, since I'd only want to make it lower, I already feel like I'm at a movie theater -- this thing is huge...

Cons: At first it did give me a start every once in a while, because while loading the monitor does go into powersaving mode really quickly if there's no signal. But it's no big deal, get over it.

Other Thoughts: Conroe E6700
Nitrogon NT06 3-heatpipe cooler 120mm fan
ASUS P5n32-SLI-SE-Deluxe
2x XMS Corsair DDR2 PC6400 C4 (matched pair)
OS on a WD Raptor 150
Promise 8350 PCIEx4 hardware RAID 5 controller with 4x500Gb WD SATAII's
XFX 7950 pushing a 24” widescreen @ native 1920x1200
PC Power & Cooling 850w PSU
SoundBlaster Z2
Thermaltake Tai-Chi case
yeah, it's a video editor... I can finally see what I'm cutting. I'm so happy!

5 out of 5 eggsSexiest monitor ever!

Pros: Had the monitor for couple months... and I can't believe how nice it it. Beautiful color, detail, and workmanship. I would highly recommend this monitor if the price stays affordable.

Cons: Nothing, I'm just secretly fearing that it will break or burn out or something. I love the thing, but if it goes belly up I can't afford to replace it.

Other Thoughts: Honestly, it's the best $xxx I've ever spent.

4 out of 5 eggsProblem w/screen blanking out

Pros: Lightweight. Clear display on DVI connection. Good brightness.

Cons: I have a problem with the screen going blank - please see below. Display noticeably less clear on analog connection.

Other Thoughts: I like the monitor. POST screen during boot
"no signal" between POST and WinXP logon screen
system tray begins to load (clock, anti-virus, etc)
and when the ATI Catalyst Control Center icon appears in the tray, the screen goes blank again.
Most of the time it comes back after a second.

Under XP Pro System Power Options I have selected "always on" with mon to turn off after 2 hours and HD after one hour. System Standby=Never. Hibernate=disabled.

After each of these screen blanking events the screen/system may not come back. Display power light goes to amber. CTL-Alt_Del has no effect. Hard boot required.

Have updated to latest ATI drivers and latest Acer driver. No effect.

I have read about synch and timing issues. Are these what I am experiencing? Is 1920x1200 the culprit?

Thanks,
Greg

2 out of 5 eggsFirst Big LCD

Pros: Big Screen and light weight

Cons: 60 Hz is highest refresh rate, and menu controls didn't seem to work properly.

Other Thoughts: Burnt a line from left to right straight through the middle of my monitor the 2nd day I got to use it. NewEgg was easy to deal with for refund though.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing monitor

Pros: Amazing picture quality, super-bright, viewing angles are as advertised, no ghosting in games, came with zero dead pixels (and there are *MANY* reviews that say there are no dead pixels)

Cons: None that I care about. A *LOT* of reviewers are not giving this monitor a great score, complaining about random stuff like the lack of USB ports, or the fact that there's no height adjustment, I personally don't care about that. If I needed more USB ports, I'd buy a USB hub or something. This monitor is absolutely awesome for gaming and who cares about all the non-essential addons it may not have.

Other Thoughts: I've had a great 19" tube monitor before and just recently decided to switch to this monitor. I'm an active gamer, so I was a bit afraid of all the ghosting/lag issues of the modern LDC monitors. I expected to see *some*, though not much, but this monitor has none that is visible to me. I can't even compare it to the 'normal' LCDs you would see around the business offices, etc; it is just so much better. It's real bright, had zero dead pixels (another 'phew'), has awesome colors and no ghosting whatsoever. I play a lot of FPS games, like Half-Life 2 and F.E.A.R, MMORPGs (World of Warcraft), everything looks just amazing. I expected this monitor to be pretty good, but I honestly didn't expect it to be that awesome. So, if you are like me and want to get a 24" widescreen experience, but not sure just because those monitors sucked a few years ago, just go for it and you won't regret it!

5 out of 5 eggsLove love love this monitor

Pros: -bright: This thing can put out some serious rays. I finally got the tan I've been wanting, without ever having to leave the house. Turned the brightness down to 30% and it still strains the eyes.

-huge: 24" @ 1920x1200 can not be understated. The real estate alone makes the monitor worth every penny.

-cheap: Comparable monitors go for hundreds more.

Cons: Previously had a BFG 6600 GT OC. Needless to say I had some diffculty running games at 1920x1200. I purchased a BFG 7900 GT OC a couple of weeks later and saw a dramatic improvement in the quality of my experience.

Other Thoughts: No Ghosting in games. I do not watch movies on this. Unless you count HD quicktime trailers. In which case, still no ghosting. Games I've tested this with include: WoW, HL2, CS:S, DoD:S, WC3, Titan Quest, Prey, Q4, etc. All are beautiful, and make me cry like Nancy Kerrigan.
