Acer X193W+BD Black 19" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 2000:1 (ACM)

Pros: Have used this monitor as my second display since October 2008, no major problems. This gets used atleast 8hrs a day on average, along with an acer 24" that is my main display. These monitors were purchased at the same time, the 24" main display needed the inverter board replaced about one year ago, not so with this monitor, still going strong. Good image quality, no discernable difference from my 24" main display.

Cons: The inverters intermittently make an audible (atleast to me) high pitched noise. This only started after about 3.5 years, and it doesn't happen often enough for me to knock an egg off. No one else I've asked has been able to hear it, so it may be I have sensitive hearing for high pitched noises. It's doesn't happen very often and goes away fairly quickly, so I did not knock off an egg.

Other Thoughts: Might not have fast enough response time for gaming use, but as a secondary display this isn't a concern for me.

Wish the colors matched my main display a bit better, but I'm guessing that you're never going to find two non identical monitors that are identical color.

Pros: These are still going strong 3 years into usage, 3 addresses, 2 states.

Cons: Zero

Pros: Nice resolution. Very bright. Great Colors. Lasted 4 years (see other thoughts)

Other Thoughts: I bought 2 of these back in 2007 for a dual monitor setup. The backlight went out in both of them about 5 days apart. I can't complain for 4 years of use. The awesome part was that upon disassembly, I found that the 2 220μf capacitors on the main board of each monitor were swollen and leaking. A quick trip to my local electronics store and some soldering brought these great monitors back to life. Hopefully I can get another 4 years out of them! I would highly recommend them.

Pros: Great screen, Very bright, excellent resolution.

Cons: Low-end monitor that probably will not last more than 2 years. The power Inverter went out on mine in less than 2 years. I hear this is a common problem with Acer's.

Other Thoughts: If you plan on using your equipment for more than 3 years.......I wouldn't buy the Acer brand.

Pros: This monitor has very crisp rendering of text and is great for gaming. The preset brightness and contrast setting are very good. Also a very good price.

Cons: Menus are a little clunky but not enough to make it any thing but a five star.

Other Thoughts: Upgraded from a five year 15 inch CRT so any thing was better than that.

Pros: This is a rare 19in supporting 1680-1050. It's perfect and looks great.
No dead pixels.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: This is my second Acer monitor and I'm hooked.

Pros: bright, good resolution, no ghosting, no dead pixels, etc.

Cons: n/a

Pros: -Has worked great for me for over a year and a half.
-Never a dead pixel.
-Great for casual to enthusiast gamer. I'm sure a very serious fps gamer could find something wrong with the contrast ratio, size, or colors of this monitor but I think it does great for CoD4 and any Rpg or strategy game.
-The price has dropped considerably since I bought it in March '08, making it a good monitor for any low to mid budgets.
-HDCP compatible
-No pointless moniter speakers
-1680x1050 resolution

Cons: -no HDMI port
-Other bigger, newer moniters are getting cheaper too

Pros: Price is excellent. I purchased two of them and have setup dual display. Limited desk space and they fit nicely side by side. Windows 7 had drivers available once you run a windows update.

Cons: Not the best picture I have seen on LCD but for the price I can't complain. Would not purchase if you do a lot of graphics/photoshop.

Pros: Excellent quality for the price. Great picture/rezolution quality. I actually bought two of these for a dual screen setup, and man I'm glad I did. These monitors are packaged pretty good too, so they shouldn't be affected by the shipping company throwing them around.

Cons: They weren't free.
