dissatisfied
- Pros: Stand
- Cons: Noisiest monitor I have ever owned. This is the first review I have written. I usually don't bother. If you try to dim this display down at all it makes a buzzing noise that is louder than my entire system and its too bright if you don't dim it. My system is not ultra quiet but this monitor is unacceptable. I'm surprised no one else has commented on this. Maybe its just mine. I will be replacing this sooner than later and passing this on to someone else.
- Other Thoughts: Poor viewing angle in portrait mode which is the only reason I purchased this particular display.
Dissapointed
- Pros: Good stand, you can see images and read text.
- Cons: Unfortunately, blacks are washed out (even for text). I have many monitors, including Dell, Samsung and Acer. Frankly, I prefer the picture quality on the cheapo Acer X223Wbd (I have 2 of those) and for the money a way better buy. I need some more 22" monitors and I may try the LG or stick with the X223Wbd. If you want higher end, go with Samsung, NEC, HP, Dell, etc but I would never buy this Acer again.
- Other Thoughts: Just get something else or you will be dissapointed. This monitor is going to go to my girlfriend or nephews (shhh, they better not see this).
Good value
- Pros: Good panel for the money, fully adjustable, no dead pixels
- Cons: Compared to my other monitors, the colors are noticably washed out and there is little that can be done to correct it. It also tends to the blue, though that can be corrected. The height adjustment is a little shoddy, be sure to push down on the panel to release the lock. Poor vertical viewing angle.
- Other Thoughts: The key phrase here is "for the money". I've never been a big fan of Acer and this pretty much confirms that for me. Had it been my choice, and not my company's, I'd have gone with a different brand. Fortunately, it's not my primary monitor so it will do.
