Acer X223Wbd Black 22" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 2500:1

Pros: Crisp picture. Good color. No dead pixels. After owning this monitor for almost 4 years, I can see no difference than the day it was purchased.

Cons: At 3 years 11 months, all of a sudden it wouldn't power up. Just the LCD at the power button would flicker briefly. Figured it must be a capacitor problem. A visual inspection of the power supply inverter showed nothing unusual, and the capacitors looked normal. So I just replaced the whole board for $33. Viola! Back up and running and no worse for wear. Now let's see just how long this puppy will really last.

Other Thoughts: I didn't deduct any eggs for the power supply problem because I got 4 years of consistent use with no problems whatsoever. And we are still running strong.

Pros: I have had 2 of this monitor since 2008 and they are still going strong after daily use. I have packed them up, thrown them around in luggage, and traveled through several different states multiple times a year and they are no worse for wear. A great choice in my book!

Cons: A fairly basic monitor, if you are looking for high end refresh rates or other high end features this is probably not for you.

Pros: This thing has been running SOLID since January 2008 - that's more than FOUR years. I use it many hours a week, and there has never been a single problem.

Cons: No HDMI. The contrast isn't great. The resolution is dated.

Other Thoughts: Again, 4+ years of hard use and this is still the same as when I got it.


Buy this if you want dependability.

Pros: Bought this in 11/10/2008 and is still working as good as new. Gets used approx 30-40hrs/week. No issues

Pros: I've had this monitor since 2008, and I'm still very happy about it. Still no bad pixels, backlight is strong. I will definitely buy another Acer monitor again.

Cons: None that I can think of.

Cons: Recently lost color saturation (down to about 50%). Even with the "Acer eColor Management"system turned on, the screen is washed out. And the "Auto" button no longer works!

Pros: paid 74 dollars used open box from a company going out of business and it is still going stong 4 years later, have traveled the country with it. Not one dead pixel. Use it to watch tv and play my ps3.

Cons: only 720p

Pros: It's odd, looking at the specs I remember saying to myself; "this monitor is going to suck for gaming, but oh well -- it's cheap."

I am now still using this monitor and somehow, it is perfect; I would have never guessed for $130 I would EVER get something like this for that price. Acer: You have my business for life on monitors.
