2 out of 5 eggsMonitor nice- support stinks (BAD!)

Pros: Great picture, features

Cons: I can not adjust the stand height. (Might be broke?) Online manual does not tell how to adjust. Emailed support: 3 emails back/forth, they tell me it can't adjust. Right... Specs here, and on their website say it can. Pics show it can. I have the same stand. Tried phone tech. They gave me another number. Getting tired of no answers.

Other Thoughts: Bought refurbished. Acer is a MAJOR pain to register a refurb. Their website won't allow you to, and they want you to jump through hoops just because it's a refurb, I guess.

Acer tech support also doesn't actually read your emails, or their own documents. Be prepared for delays and frustration.

3 out of 5 eggsDon't know what to say

Pros: OK it works and looks nice...

Cons: The one I recieved had a malfunctioning up and down adjustment. I sent it to Acer to have them fix it. It took them almost a MONTH to replace this one blasted peice. If I ever have to send it back I may go insane and just buy a new one.

2 out of 5 eggsAnd I thought the monitor was bad

Pros: They give it a three year warranty

Cons: looks like you will need it. after sending the LCD panel back to ACER for repair ($20 S&H) I received it back in a different box...Eagerly I opened it and set it up to be greeted to a lightshow. The LCD is broke more now than when I sent it in for repair..it is completely unusable in the current state. I called and the tech was english challenged...all I wanted was for them to pay for the shipping back since they did not repair it the first time. Looks like I am out another $20 bucks. If it comes back repaired I am going to E.b.a.y. this hunk and buy a Samsung...

Other Thoughts: They give a good warranty especially since you will need it..and you will keep a shipping agency in the red and help out the economy. I should have done a video on it...nice lightshow when I turned it on..couldn't see the ACER logo or the bios boot up...can I say again the worst monitor I have ever come across...I am scared of the 10 or so others that I have recommended to various clients...

2 out of 5 eggsAnd its dying

Pros: As noted on my ealier review it is a nice big display with a nice stand.

Cons: Problem is I work with excellent displays all day..sadly this is one of the worst I have had the misfortune to deal with. BUT... This monitor is going out after just a few months I have a nice 3 inch pattern that appears in the middle of my screen...turning off the monitor and turning it back on fix the issue and gives me about 5 minutes, I also have problems with the screen brightness fading in and out.

Other Thoughts: We shall see if Acer is a good company after I contact their support..wish I had got the ext warranty now... but I have never had a monitor die this soon. I will update after talking with their support team (acer)

3 out of 5 eggsHarsh Whites

Pros: Swivel, USB Hub, Adjustable, decent price for 22"

Cons: Freakn bright and if you read a lot of web pages or work with word or excel you may want to look elsewhere. I have tried everything to adjust the harshness out but cannot and the built in adjustments are awful. Movies are to bright....especially awful since it is sitting next to my Dell Ultrasharp.

Other Thoughts: Does real good in games you just have to adjust the gamma

5 out of 5 eggsNice Monitor

Pros: Great value. Adjustable height and tilt. Great color.

Cons: The speakers are somewhat mehh, but they are better than nothing.

Other Thoughts: Be very careful if you plan to use a VGA cable to connect his monitor. I first set this up using a VGA cable because I did not have a DMI cable that was long enough. At maximum resolution, the images were shifted to the left beyond the amount that I could correct using the position adjustments on monitor and in the software. This was fixed when my longer DVI cable arrived.

5 out of 5 eggsnewegg is WRONG. No USB video!

Pros: newegg is WRONG. No USB video interface!
The USB is a ONLY a USB HUB!
I just got off a call with Acer tech support and they confirmed this.
I also told Acer that they need to correct their specs since they aren't clear on the us.acer.com web site.
Signal Connectors: B223W B bmzdr: VGA, DVI (HDCP), USB

Cons: newegg is WRONG. No USB video interface!
javascript:Biz.Feedback.RateProduct.Form.submit('display')The USB is a ONLY a USB HUB!
GridVista to split the displays only works with Acer monitors.

Other Thoughts: I have a system with dual output on the DVI and VGA. The Acer works well beside my Dell 2005FPW. So if I can't get a good color profile on the Acer then I will just use the profiled Dell.
The pivot feature is great for those tall web pages or a full text page. Unlike other inexpensive monitors this one has tilt, swivel and pivot.
The Acer CD does have a .icm profile for the monitor.

1 out of 5 eggsdoes USB video interface work?

Pros: A larger panel than my old Dell 22" from 2005.

Cons: documentation is for B223W, no references to B223W B bmzdr.
No documentation on how to get the USB video interface to work.

Other Thoughts: Acer Gridvista only supports Acer monitors.
No documentation on how to get the USB video interface to work. The drivers don't even seem to be there.
One would expect a quick reference card on how to set-up USB monitors. Even plugging in the USB cable and I don't get any prompts for device drivers.

2 out of 5 eggsDissapointment

Pros: Nice color & contrast. An easy to use & flexible stand. I like this monitor, but!

Cons: On this particular monitor, when there is a dark background at the bottom of the screen, a white illumination is spread across the screen from one side to the other. Hot pixels? Whatever it is, it ruins an otherwise nice monitor.

Other Thoughts: Reluctant to get another one & possibly have the same issue. This is my first Acer monitor. I expected something better.
