5 out of 5 eggsAbsolutely Stunning!

Pros: Extremely vivid picture compared to my Acer V223W 22" wide-screen monitor (Matte display). High definition videos are much brighter and more colorful, and the clarity on any picture is very accurate to say the least. There is no "light bleeding" or trailing in the picture. The monitor arrived 3 days after I placed my order (which I'm okay with since it wasn't a high priority for me). Installation of the stand is so simple a "trained monkey" would have no trouble at all. Honestly all-in-all, I'm very happy with this purchase.

Cons: Acer support/customer service; that's really all I have to say.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Monitor has extremely clear and vivid colors. Excellent dark colors and clear crisp lights.

Cons: Had one stuck white pixel upon initial turn on. Using the tap method took about one minute and it was restored and working perfectly.

Other Thoughts: Thoughts: Don't judge reviews on your purchases generally people. Im extremely impressed with this monitor and the 50k contrast ratio makes.

5 out of 5 eggsPishposh

Pros: Monitor has extremely clear and vivid colors. Excellent dark colors and clear crisp lights.

Cons: Had one stuck white pixel upon initial turn on. Using the tap method took about one minute and it was restored and working perfectly.

Other Thoughts: Don't judge reviews on your purchases generally people. Im extremely impressed with this monitor and the 50k contrast ratio makes for a stupidly vivid picture. I was blown away considering i have the first edition of this monitor series the p241w. Exactly the same minus the orange liner and a slightly more stylish base. Side by side you can really tell the difference in contrast ratio although with some tweaking they can look rather close. I stacked these next to each other and I'm drooling over the awesome.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Product

Pros: This monitor is Good looking with glossy frame and futuristic looking stand, its a Monster. I used this monitor on xbox 360 and played some HD movies on computer. This monitor does perform very well.

Cons: Came with no dead pixel out of the box. after running for few hours, one bright pixel and one blue pixel appeared. while being on dos mode, it start turning dimmer all by its self. but on window it runs fine. dont know what the problem is.

Other Thoughts: I bought this item despite reading all cons on this website. i was keeping my finger crosed, hoping to get the good one. But W/E!!! I had samsung 23" before this one and i will prefer to buy that samsung again. If dead pixel keeps increasing than i will need to RMA this acer.

3 out of 5 eggsNot bad

Pros: Very nice case and color, picture quality is excellent.

Cons: I'm giving it a 3 egg do to the fact that I had to RMA it after 3 weeks of owning the first one because the back light went out. It is over priced. An LG with the same specs is cheaper.

5 out of 5 eggsBrilliant Choice

Pros: Bright as hell. Seriously you could tan with them. Clear, fast, unique. Fast restart from sleep.

Cons: Orange, good for me. But not in everyone's taste. Not very subtle

Other Thoughts: Thicker than i would have expected. Paint is metallic and very hard to photograph

5 out of 5 eggsGood Buy!

Pros: The monitor is really great. The glossy screen is nice. I like the vivid colors, makes things seem to “pop”. There is no ghosting on games (L4D, TF2, COD4, CS:S, FFXI). The monitor is pretty bright, which I prefer, but I had to dim it down to 40 from factory settings. I really like this monitor for movies and TV shows as well as it seems to bring out the colors more so than my old monitor (19” LCD about 4-5yrs old). The resolution is great on the monitor; I don’t have to strain my eyes to read the text.

Cons: I wish the buttons were a little easier to press. They aren’t difficult, just poor quality on the construction. You can notice the unstableness of the monitor when you hit your desk due reflections on the monitor moving erratic due to the glossy screen, but it’s not significant enough to cause me to stop what I am doing and hold the monitor down.

Other Thoughts: Despite a lot of negative reviews. I guess I was “lucky” enough to get a “good” monitor. There is going to be a degree of bleed on any monitor you buy, mine has NO MORE than .25 inches around, and even then I would have to really look at it to really notice it (did a test with lights off in the room and everything). The topic regarding dark scenes in movies or in games; I think it depends on your viewing angles and the in-game gamma settings or something, but I find the black is a true black, unless I tinker with the monitor brightness or the gamma settings in the game. Granted almost any LCD monitor you buy, you will have to find that “sweet” spot, but with the G24 it’s not bad compared to most that you see on demos at stores.

Overall, I’d buy this monitor again for my uses and expectations; which are a lot of PC gaming and minimal movie viewing and some picture editing.I learned a lot on the different kind of panels and what you “should” expect out of a TN vs. IPS panel..etc

2 out of 5 eggsWell. The colors are nice...

Pros: Awesome colors, best response appearance I've seen in an LCD screen, great contrast ratio (probably not what advertised, but still awesome) Bright. Orange kinda looks like Daytona orange, you get used to it. ACER Edisplay manage tool pretty good.

Cons: If you don't like orange, it can be distracting. Really bright factory settings, have to tune em down to your preferences, Edisplay manage updates don't work on X64 vista

I bought this apprehensively after reading a lot of the reviews. These things seem to be hit or miss. After the first day of use without incident on dark screens there started to be really bad backlight bleed. At first it didn't affect games, but then when playing games like Oblivion, Fallout 3, and Cryostasis, you note the blacks aren't displaying correctly (night sky, dark caves, dark parts), it almost seems reflective (due to the bleed) it's pretty bad and distracting, trails about 1.5-1.7 inches from the top, about an inch from the bottom.. and gets annoying. I am returning this for a replacement, as I did like the monitor overall.

Other Thoughts: If you are willing to spin the acer wheel of fortune, and pay the return shipping on a few RMAs to get one without bleed, it's probably worth it. The colors were vivid, I noticed almost no motion blur, sure it is no CRT, but that is to be expected with any LCD screen.

I gave it two eggs based on the monitor I received. Neweggs returns and CS have been hassle free on the issue though, so hopefully the next one will work.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't Buy This Monitor

Pros: Very Beautiful, bright display.
Great when it works

Cons: Had the monitor for a little more than a month and one day it wouldn't turn on. I sent it in for warranty repair. I just got it back from Acer support after 3 weeks and it won't go up to its maximum resolution of 1620x1200. Acer support says my only option is to send it in again.
Acer support is horrible. It takes forever to talk to a human, and when you do, you get transferred twice, disconnected, only to do the whole thing over again and find out they won't do a cross shipment. Shame on newegg for stocking their products. I am an extremely dissatisfied customer.

Other Thoughts: I was really looking to give this product good review. Make no mistake, its a really nice monitor, but the craftsman ship is subpar. I should have listened to the comments other people made about the quality and Acer's support. Just Google Acer Support and you will find out what I mean.
