Spectacular
- Pros: Excellent viewing angle, crisp and clear, no dead pixels in 8 months of daily use
- Cons: Not really a con, but would be nice if they had put in a direct input control. I use this on 2 machines and the auto-switch sometimes switches me at inopertune times
- Other Thoughts: Just a beautiful picture, I got it for 179 on sale, and will be getting another
Excellent~
- Pros: I've owned this monitor for over a year now and it's been one of the most reliable high quality images about the house. I've had it next to a 40" Sony Bravia TV and I honestly think the quality on the monitor is better for both gaming and HD video. The option to plug in DVI or HDMI is great and I currently use both. At my desk is my Xbox 360 (1080p) and my gaming PC. Both connected and with a flick of the finger over the input option i'm switching devices. As far as user settings go it's got what it takes to adjust brightness, contrast, and color to your liking (I have it set to as accurate as I can guesstimate for optimum picture). Gaming is also nice due to the 5ms delay as opposed to my TV and past LCD monitors which sometimes register over 40ms. The price is excellent (I just wish there were more of the 21.5" model so I can pair up my 21.5 with a second or third monitor. I'm glad there's still an option for the 23!)
The VESA mounts on the rear are accessible with stand mount on.
- Cons: There is still some noticable light bleed at the top and bottom edges of the screen noticable only in dark rooms. It's enough to annoy me, but it's really not enough to mark an egg off for as it's still minor. It's also atleast uniform top and bottom and still it's the least bleeding of any monitor I've ever owned.
I'm still looking for this option in monitors but I'd like HDMI audio pass-through via toslink, 3.5mm and analog L/R, but that's high hopes. I tend to use my monitors as TVs as I like the quality over size and I'm currently planning on purchasing another H233H for my media center extender (On a second xbox) and this is a big deciding factor for some other screens. if it has HDMI it should have audio pass-through! Period!
The touch controls are sensitive, and i like them better than buttons (because they don't shake the monitor on the stand) but sometimes when you're looking at the menu you accidentally hit the wrong button and drop out of what you were doing
- Other Thoughts: I've purchased 5 monitors (Models H213H and H233H) and I love both. They have the exact same specs with an inch and a half size difference between the two. My girlfriend has one with a MiniITX based computer hanging from the VESA mounts and everything at 1080p is beautiful. This monitor has set my standard for affordable HD for anyone looking for a blu-ray or gaming solution. I prefer 1920x1080 over 1920x1200 due to scalability with HDMI based devices running 1080p and so these monitors are a clear winner. The fact that out of 5 monitors all in use over 6 months now and I STILL don't have any dead/stuck pixels there's a clear quality to acer. Very highly recommended.
Incredible Monitor
- Pros: This monitor is an incredible value. I purchased for $170 about a week ago, if you missed the sale you HAVE to keep an eye out for it. The color and contrast on this monitor is fantastic. The blacks are plenty deep once you tweak the settings.
Just like any monitor it will take some color adjustments, but the UI menu is easy enough to figure out.
Incredible response, no ghosting, hardly any backlight bleeding. Just simply a fantastic monitor.
Also, the build quality is great. No squeaky plastic or parts on this rig.
- Cons: Compared to Dell monitors the adjustment is weak (only able to tilt), but keep in mind this is $100 less than Dells.
