1 out of 5 eggsWont power on

Pros: Good color when it worked

Cons: lasted 2 years wont power on led power light just blinks ACER customer support is the worst $80.00 to send it back under a 3 year warranty thats half what a new one will cost

Other Thoughts: I buy alot of ASUS and ACER monitors I wont be buying any more ACER due to very poor customer support I am so frustrated I am going to replace it with ASUS

3 out of 5 eggsMonitor was great while it lasted

Pros: Looks great, good response time. Used it for gaming (CoD/BF/Others), no dead pixels. All around WAS a decent monitor.

Cons: Broke just past the year marker of owning it. I was using it as a TV for my Xbox and about 10 minutes in - it just shut off. Complete black screen and a blinking power button. Contacted customer service and after about 45 minutes of telling them I've already done their basic troubleshooting they finally gave me a ticket number (because it has a 3 year warranty) to get it replaced. Well to my surprise they refuse to pay for shipping to get it repaired. Now, this wouldnt be a big deal if it was <$40 or so, but shipping would cost me $80. I already forked out about $220 for a monitor that barely lasted a year and now, because of Acer's faultiness, I have to shell out another 80? I contacted customer service again to attempt to get a shipping label, the representative (although American fortunately unlike some of the other reviewers here) was extremely rude AND disconnected on me similar to hanging up the phone as I was mid sentence.

Other Thoughts: If you (as the company) are going to produce products that will be faulty and cover a warranty up to 3 years, then prepare to fix these issues instead of screwing your customer over again and again. Customer service is ridiculously rude. The only reason this gets 2 eggs is because it worked fine before hand. Acer gets -8 eggs. If they would have at least worked with me on the issue instead of slamming a door in my face I may be inclined to purchase from them again, now though I will make it a goal in life to turn everyone I can away from Acer.

1 out of 5 eggsNEVER BUY ACER

Pros: Looks nice.

Decent price, but for what i went through they should have paid me.

Cons: Extremely loud (can be heard across my house with doors closed) buzzing noise when its on. Seems to me like a short, but i don't know much about the inside workings of a monitor.

The worst tech support ever.

Other Thoughts: Let me give you the very short version of what ended up being a 2 hour ordeal. Dealing with Acer customer service was the worst experience of my life, yea, worse than passing kidney stones. First of all none of the people i spoke to could speak understandable English. Secondly when i asked to speak to another person who could, they told me they couldn't do that. Once i finally got the manager (who i could hardly understand) she told me she could not connect me or give me a number for someone located in America or who spoke English. When i asked why, she couldn't even give me a straight answer; she would only reply "I won't do that". She also told me that they would not pay for shipping for it to be repaired, and would not give me a refund. If that isn't a massive middle finger to your own customer i dont know what is.

The nice people at newegg know how to treat their customers!

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Monitor

Pros: Just plugged it in 10 minutes ago....WOW! This thing is huge and bright. No dead pixels and text is bright and clear.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Bought this as an upgrade from my 2 year old Acer 22". You wouldnt think an inch of screen size isnt much, but when you plug this in and turn it will be amazed by the real estate. {Gave my son my old 22 which has worked flawlessly.} Cant wait to try some games on it....

5 out of 5 eggsplain and awesome

Pros: simple, no frills - bought it for my secondary monitor / ps3 monitor. Plug and play for both dvi and hdmi. Easy to figure out on-screen controls. Great refresh rate for gaming. Slightly better color reproduction than my older pair of Samsung and Dell monitors. No dead pixels. Comes with all the cables, incl audio.

Cons: 2 itty bitty little details
- no VESA mount for those who want to use their own stands
- did not auto detect Acer drivers in WinVista, have to install drivers from internet or disc.
Neither of which bothers me and thus no points taken off.

Other Thoughts: Def not as good as an IPS panel, but that said, this is just awesome bang-for-the-buck monitor. Even at $189 or 199 it'd still make an great value. Highly recommended.
Strangely glossy fine back cover for the monitor? I wonder if it needed to be that fancy...

5 out of 5 eggs6 Months

Pros: I was the first person to buy this monitor when it came out on Newegg. Before this I had a 15 inch CRT, which took up my entire desk. Being my first LCD monitor I was a bit nervous that I got a bad monitor, so I did my homework on contrasts, colors, pixel response time, and on other features of LCDs. After a while I came across this monitor, it seemed to have the best price for what it was offering. So I decided to get it. So far it is a worthy investment.
Pros of the Monitor:
- Looks really nice
- Really bright
- You can change most of the settings of the monitor via the Acer eDisplay Management software.
- The software allows you to store predefined settings.
- Has built in speakers (nice for LAN parties)
- The base is actually quite stable considering my computer desk is next to a washing machine
- Love the anti-glare screen
- It has a better color quality than my CRT.

Cons: - The Acer eDisplay Managment has no options to turn off the dynamic contrast. You have to do it via the screen menu
- Dynamic contrast is quite pointless.
- The screen is hard to clean
- I you blink incorrectly the frame will scratch
- If you play games that are Isometric 3D you will notice a blurring when scrolling. Otherwise it is harder see blurring
- The monitor's menu has the option to select input devices. I find it to be badly placed, I keep on accidentally pushing it and it will cycle through the dvi and vga connections.

Other Thoughts: Well its been to several LAN parties and it has a better image quality than my friends monitors so I believe it was a good investment.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing upgrade

Pros: I upgraded to this from a 21" CRT. Let me tell you. My desk is thanking me. The CRT I switched from weighed 65 pounds and took up 90% of my desktop surface. Now that I have this, I can actually use my deskt again! No dead pixels, no complaints.

Cons: The headaches are pretty bad, because I just can't stop staring at it. Also, I waited about 6 hours to long to order it and ended up paying an extra 20 dollars, but it was worth it.

Other Thoughts: I am really glad I bought this.

5 out of 5 eggsTHIS. THING. IS. HUGE.

Pros: And AMAZING to look at. The colors, everything just pops. Movies, games, websurfing, you'll find it all looks fantastic! I usually lean in to my monitor, and I've been able to sit back for this. The controls are built into a touch interface in the frame, they are so cool.

Cons: Huge. :) Make sure you have the room for it. And don't expect any privacy, the screen is perfectly visible from across the room. The sound won't blow anyone's socks off, but it does make for a nice surround-soundish feeling with my existing speakers. It is NOT wall mount-able, unless you count attaching a small shelf to the wall for it, which is what I did.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you check all the packaging, I went out and bought an audio cable for it, then found the one that came with it the next day. :|
Make sure your graphics card will be able to handle it's awesomeness, mine barely copes.

5 out of 5 eggsNice

Pros: Bought two of these monitors @ $189 w/FreeS&H sale. Was shipped in its original box, thanfully the original box arrived in good condition. Thankfully there's no dead pixels in either one. They have a very nice picture. Like another poster said though unless you have the Brightness adjusted near 90 or above (in any mode) you will hear a slight (but noticeable) electronic buzzing coming from it which did concern me at first, but adjusting it towards 90 or above the buzzing goes away (for me then using my Nvidia control panel I then adjusted its own Brightness level back down to where I wanted it and was still without the buzzing) ..and so it turns out to be a non-issue, otherwise it definitely would be an issue.

Cons: I went from a non-widescreen 19" LCD to this 23" widescreen, and I was trying to keep the same screen height which was almost 12" but unfortunately the 23" widescreens screen height is a full half inch less, and so in hind-sight I should of bought a 24" widescreen; however, since the Resolution of the widescreen is 1920x1080 compared to 1280x1024 a illusionary way that makes up the difference since the 1080 makes the showing smaller than the 1024 ...and so the showing 'appears' about the same size.
The touch screen is awkward navigating at first, but you get used to it.

Other Thoughts: Anyway, I love the picture and everything else about it and so gave it a 5 star.
Nice to get all three VGA, DVI, and HDMI cords included too.

5 out of 5 eggsSo far, GREAT

Pros: Love it, finally I can use hi-res with multiple windows and still be able to read all the text clearly.
It's easier to see your target from a further distance in Combat flight simulator.
Beautiful picture, every game I've tried has played flawlessly, plays movies like any good high HD LCD TV.
The builtin speakers aren't the best but they're nice if you need the desk space.

Cons: My only complaint I have is the plastic cover on the back for the cords doesn't snap on firmly, it pops off too easly and think it will become too loose in the future to stay on.
It can be repaired with clear packing tape if it becomes a problem, it's not like I'll be changing cords once it's setup there's no reason forr that.
Overall this isn't a big deal and the perforrmance to price ratio in the sweet spot so I still gave it 5 eggs
