5 out of 5 eggsThe low power consumption is awesome!

Pros: I've owned and used this monitor for about 7 months.

Very low power consumption. This was a replacement for an 6 year old Dell 24 inch monitor that used 42W of power with the brightness turned down as low as it would go.

Power consumption of this monitor as measured with a Kill A Watt meter:
11.2 Watts - Brightness Level 0%
17.8 Watts - Brightness Level 50%
24.1 Watts - Brightness Level 100%

The low power consumption is awesome! I use this monitor in my home office and keep it dimly light. I have the monitor brightness set to 0% so it's only using 11.2 Watts of power. It is still bright enough in the environment that I am using it in. This monitor goes up very bright if you need it too.

I am using the HDMI input with 1920 x 1080 resolution.

Cons: A DVI port would be nice, but I knew this when I purchased it.

Other Thoughts: I do not have any complaints about the color like some of the others do on here. Maybe I'm just not that picky about color and don't really notice any issues. Then again, I'm not a graphics professional so maybe it does have these issues and I just can't tell! Perhaps I am biased to the 11.2 Watts of power consumption. I'll take that any day to a 40+ Watt monitor with perfect colors.

2 out of 5 eggsPrice was great, not so much the monitor

Pros: 24", easy setup

Cons: Ghosting, off colors

Other Thoughts: The price was amazing for this 24" LED backlit monitor with speakers but alas the quality is poor. I did get a defected one unfortunately, but the times it does work normally I can still see what's wrong with it. 2ms time and it still ghosts, horribly at that. I have a Sony Vaio LED Backlit and when I compare colors, Sony is totally different, it's truer on the Sony. Also the presets aren't great either, even though the colors get slightly better, it seems the texts on screen get SUPER sharp to the point where you see rough edges. Thinking of sticking with brands like Samsung now.

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful Monitor

Pros: Fantastic Picture, I never saw a single problem with the color of the pictures it produces at all, unlike some other reviewers say.
It's very thin and stylish looking, and it stays sturdy on your desk even with the awkward stand.

Cons: The built in speaker is pretty pathetic, but I doubt anyone is buying it because of the included speaker, nothing to take an egg off for.

1 out of 5 eggsDied after 14 months.

Pros: Good colors after adjustment. No ghosting noticed at any time. Settings were not difficult to learn. Low center of gravity so it won't tip over.

Cons: Broken after 14 months. 3 flickering vertical lines in center of monitor. (past 30 day warranty). I can't afford to buy a monitor once a year so will have to switch to a lower cost brand.

5 out of 5 eggsNICE!

Pros: Very stylish and very light. it's nice to have a 24 inch monitor that doesn't weigh 25 pounds. Monitor looks good, especially games and movies. No dead pixels (so far). Cheap price. Comes with an HDMI cable! Nicely packaged. Has speakers, haven't used them yet though.

Cons: No DVI, luckily I had an extra hdmi to dvi. Yellows don't look the best. No height adjustment.

Other Thoughts: For the people complaining about the quality of the monitor, it's $240. If you want top of the line quality, get a $500 monitor. Yes, the monitor looks terrible out of the box, but that's why Acer and Windows give you settings to make it look good. Calibrate it before you write a negative review. I got it looking even better than my old $500 Samsung Syncmaster. It's a good buy!

4 out of 5 eggsA very nice choice

Pros: Bright and stylish, well made, modern input options (HDMI) and legacy vga, too. Thin lcd frame.

Cons: No DVI, which is bit odd. The controls could be considered awkward especially if you are tall, in which case they will be partly obscured by the monitor. Also, I assume the monitor cannot be detached and wall mounted separately, because the controls are on the base.

Other Thoughts: I was surprised by the quality and attractiveness. An excellent buy.

5 out of 5 eggsWow

Pros: I replaced a Samsung P2770HD with this monitor. I found that the Samsung had limited brightness (I'm guessing because it was not LED backlit), a huge bezel, and a rickity stand. This monitor though, has blown me out of the water. For 240 bucks, you get one of the most elegant yet understated monitors I've ever laid my eyes on. It's incredibly bright, the colours pop, and it matches a Mac Pro beautifully.

Cons: The back light is only 98% even. But it's really not noticeable at all.

Other Thoughts: The Samsung had a a built in TV tuner, which I appreciated. I wish this guy did too :(

To the reviewers who say the colours are dull: do a bit of research. No monitor is perfect out of the box. When you adjust it correctly, the colours are both vibrant and absolutely stunning.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Bang for what I wanted

Pros: Great picture FAST RESPONSE TIME. 1080 resolution with a fine dot pitch. Looks awesome and very thin. Looks like it cost more than it did . I highly recommend. I purchased it to take to a Local event and show my Computer Builds Not to sell but to get the word out that I Build custom PCs sell PCs and repair PCs. I Use My Samsung 55" LED 3D TV as a Monitor Via HDMI input at home. ( Even with a Large Screen I get Pwned by these youngsters playing Black Opps and Crysis 2 Multiplayer ) I KNOW ...I don't get out much .

Cons: Speakers... well I used expensive headphones OR a separate set up for sound ( Sound Card external 7.1 set up. So I did not count on this for sound. So who cares. If Sound is a big deal Altek makes a cheap set up with a sub when added with this monitor makes a nice set for $30
up.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16836113025

So If this Cost 30 bucks more with the sound that this INEXPENSIVE set up provides. ( on my youngest sons' PC) Everyone would rave on how nice this thing sounded. No Con Here If you spend this amount ( which is a great deal for a MONITOR) . Just a few bucks more you can get good sound. I bought it for Picture quality based on specs and I am very happy.

Other Thoughts: My set up

AMD Phenom II x6 1055 OC FSB from 200 to 245 with 12 Gig Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600 Ram that is running slightly faster than that.
2TB Sata 6Gb/sec HD Hitatchi , XFX 5830 Video ( Upgrading to a 6970 AMD Card when I get the new ASUS 990FX BOARD ( ITS HERE on NEWEGG BTW) I will Wait Untill the 2nd Gen Chips to upgrade CPU Bulldozer II OR whatever it will be labeled.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very easy setup and installation. No problems with display, contrast, color, brightness, etc. No adjustments needed. Have not even referred to the User Manual. Just plug in and go.

Cons: The speaker is not worthy of a 1930's crystal set (radio). Tinny, scratchy, almost no volume. Went back to my ten year old Dell standard issue speakers.

Other Thoughts: Good value for a monitor. Waste of money for a speaker!
