Acer V193DJB Black 19" 5ms LCD Monitor 250 cd/m2 ACM 50000:1(800:1)

Pros: Over the last 2 years, I have purchase around 15 of this exact model of monitor from NewEgg to replace old CRT monitors at work. To-date, I have NEVER had a problem out of these monitors. Not even a single dead-pixel.

Cons: No DVI, and no vertical height adjustment

Other Thoughts: Please note: This is NOT a 4:3 aspect ratio monitor as others have posted (I don't know where you guys are getting that). It is a 5:4, and the native resolution is in fact 1280x1024, which is a 5:4 aspect-ratio resolution. As long as you use a proper screen resolution, I assure you nothing will be distorted. Setting the resolution to a 4:3 aspect-ratio resolution like 1024x768 will result in distortion. Please don't post bad reviews on a monitor just because you can't understand that, or figure out how to change your screen resolution.

Pros: Excellant monitor with very fast shipping from Newegg. Happy to be able to still get good non widescreen monitor.

Cons: none

Pros: Delivery was on time.

Cons: Very disappointed with the display. This is advertised as a 1280 x 1024, but is really 1024 x 768. You can go into your computer setting and change it, but it shrinks everything up so small you can't read anything.
The pixels are so far apart there is almost as much white and black in the print. This is what I dislike about buying on-line. Not happy at all.

Other Thoughts: The setting for the monitor are difficult at best. Not user friendly.

Pros: 1280x1024 on a 4:3 monitor.
What this means is that it has the same resolution as a smaller 17" monitor but on a bigger screen, so the old ladies that need large font can do their jobs and we don't need to purchase expensive widescreen monitors.

Cons: This type of monitor is becoming less and less common.

Other Thoughts: A somewhat unknown drawback to widescreen monitors is the increase in size needed to approximate the viewing size (text, etc.) that a normal 4:3 monitor has. In this case I would need to buy a 23" widescreen monitor to be able to have the same viewing size as this 19". Although those are great because you can fit much more on the screen (side-by-side), they are also much more expensive, especially when buying many of them.

Pros: Great price, 4:3 aspect ratio, comes with a cable

Cons: No digital output (analog VGA only)

Other Thoughts: I bought one of these a few months ago and have not had any problems. I just bought another one, and immediately noticed a problem. The screen goes black a couple minutes after booting the computer. If I shut it off and turn it back on, the image comes back on for about 4 seconds and then goes black again. Tried it on another computer as well. Junk right out of the box. Surprised their QC did not catch this problem before packing it up.

Pros: Reasonable price for a 19" monitor. Good viewing angle and tilt adjustment. Light weight. I bought two of these for work, and have two similar models at home.

Cons: I don't particularly care about this, but some might. It has no height adjustment.

Other Thoughts: I'm becoming very pleased with Acer monitors. In total I've bought 13 monitors from NewEgg (mostly for work) that were Acer, and I've only received one bad one. It was one of the wide screen models, and it had one stuck pixel which later turned into a vertical line of stuck pixels. Had it replaced by Acer in no time.

Pros: I was looking actually for a 24" widescreen in 1920x1200, but couldn't find any in the price range that I wanted to pay. I did find this 19" traditional 4:3 aspect ratio monitor for a very, very reasonable price.

It is every bit as tall as the 24", although, obviously, not as wide. It refreshes very fast, and produces vivid colors, as well as deep blacks and bright whites.

Cons: NONE - for what it is. It is NOT a gaming monitor. It is not a high-end display. It is an every day monitor that does quite well for text, surfing the Web, and moderate (occasional) gaming.

Pros: The monitor has worked wonderfully for the office purpose that I have put it to. It is used between eight and ten hours a day at varying resolutions, and has not given us any issue.

Cons: None, at this time.
