Acer V223WEJbmd Black 22" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 250 cd/m2 ACM 50000:1(1000:1) Built-in Speakers

Pros: This is a great monitor. Excellent color/contrast/resolution for the specs and price called for. Just amazing how bright LED LCDs are now. Brightness enough to shoot lasers through your retina, so I turned it way down. Would be great for daylight viewing, too. Figuring out the aspect ratio and fear of distortion on my DT and apps. were quickly put at ease. Did not find any pixels missing. The blue power indicator is not obnoxiously bright, so that's a plus. Powered up and configured quickly with OS Win XP.

I forgot or did not realize for movies you should run 1680 x 1050 (32-bit color) for a real good picture. This monitor is 1680 x 1050, which does work okay for movies. I can see pixelization looking up close. Back a couple feet is fine, however, for on-line movies in full screen you'll need play around with different settings for a good picture, such as 1024 x 768 or 1280 x 1024. Again, NOTHING wrong with the monitor; is great for the price and the model is speced out correctly

Cons: Not a problem, but I was a little surprised the only speed offered was 60 Hz, but that might be in my card and/or lack of understanding LCD technology. I'm coming from a 19" CRT (4:3 AR) that finally failed so LCD is a real treat and can find nothing wrong with this product. And 60 Hz works great-no flickering.

The manual is a joke, with a nice shiny cover, about four pages of English and the rest taken up with a dozen or so languages for other country's peoples. It didn't say where to adjust the volume, but I figured that out - just press the arrow keys for up and down. Speaking of the speakers, I read the reviews that they are wimpy, but I wanted something built-in for that time desktop space is limited, so they are fine for what intended so ordered it that way. My only suggestion is they should face out, to the front, say, underneath the frame, etc. I use my hi-fi speakers so this is no impact on me.

The big item you need to pay attention is understanding AR and resolution.

Other Thoughts: You may consider NOT installing the CD that comes with the monitor. As I understand it, it's really not a driver but a setting's management app. called "ADM". I was able to get the (analog) driver off Acers' support page which is easy to navigate. I really do not understand if I need one for digital as I'm still in the learning curve. Some site's on other equipment sometimes is a nightmare just to find what you need. Acer's good. Of course, you need to install the graphic card's driver for proper operation. In my case is a GeForce 6200, which seems to work fine with this monitor.

Originally, I bought (locally) an Acer monitor (P215H) (20") which was excellent in the higher res. of 1920 x 1080, but it did not work with my win. 98 box, plus no speakers, so I returned it and ordered this monitor. This is a very good monitor and I'd recommend it for any app. other that high res. movies. NewEgg once again has a winner; way to go NewEgg !

Disclaimer: My remarks are based on long-term

Pros: I own one of these already from a previous now discontinued stock. New stock new products numbers I guess. But thats not the issue. This is great for gaming and internet videos. Clear sharp pictures.

Cons: One stuck pixel. Tried to unstick with options I researched on web but to no avail. Thought it would be annoying and it was at first. After awhile I dont notice it anymore. This was like my sixth Acer monitor I have bought. And all the others were perfect.

Other Thoughts: This does not have an adjustable stand. I do like the broad base though. Provides better stability. But I went to a local store and bought a plastic mini 3 Drawer Unit. Seven inches high. Perfect fit for the monitor's base and to bring it to a comfortable eye level and you get storage to boot.

Pros: This monitor is simply superb, it's wonderfully bright, has very deep black levels, and beautiful white levels, minimal backlight bleeding. The viewing angles are excellent even for a TN panel. The rated response time says 5ms, but it looks closer to 2ms to me. I can't say enough about it. This is pretty much as good as TN panel's get.

Cons: While the built-in speakers are very clean and crisp sounding, they are not very loud, and lack bass, but I don't need to listen to anything loud and booming anyway hence why I didn't subtract an egg for it

Other Thoughts: Highly recommend this display, it's the absolute best bang for the buck!

Pros: 1680 x 1050 display
No dead pixels
Fairly intuitive display controls
Colors seem OK - but I'm not using anything that requires color matching
Blacks are black, pictures seem vivid, nothing washed out.

Cons: Speakers on this model are barely adequate

Other Thoughts: Quality seems good
VGA, DVI, sound cables included
Would buy another one but maybe without the speakers

Pros: Crisp Textures, Bright Colors, Large, Quality Construction, Easy To Use, Excellent For Gaming

Other Thoughts: EXPERIENCE: First I would like to mention that I find Newegg's service to be unmatched by online standard. The fact that they have the best prices, and you can pay ground shipping, and get your package in 3 days, is just awesome! So I highly recommend them, if you are planning to buy computer hardware.

It was a bit tricky for me at first to get the monitor on the stand, there was a clip there, that I had to push in first. Once I figured that out, in snapped right into place no problem. I hooked up the cables, powered it up, and instantly my new monitor was displaying the bootup sequence. Imagine to my surprise, that my new Acer 22" monitor, had already automatically adjusted itself for my previous screen resolution. SWEET!

The first thing I did was install the software that came with the disk, I felt it was very user-friendly, anybody can do this! And within a few minutes, I already had my monitor setup for gaming, web browsing, and writing, and I didn't even have to go through

Pros: Was good to go out of the box, used primarily for gaming and HD video. Very good display.

Cons: Nothing that would prevent me from recommending this. I may even buy another.

Other Thoughts: Not the most beautiful monitor there, but for the price I'm not really complaining.
