4 out of 5 eggsDecent, inexpensive 24" 1080p

Pros: bright, sharp display with sturdy stand. DVI works fine, as does VGA. ZERO dead pixels (yaay). color reproduction and luminance range is quite good. warm-up time is pleasantly short (10-20 sec for full color range). no outright flaws outside of those that are designed in.

Cons: is not GTG (i know that is not its design specification, but still, the off-axis color reproduction is terrible, like an old laptop). 1080 vs. 1200; finicky, poorly planned menu controls. just be aware that if you want to view content from the left, right and top at an angle even up to about 70°, it's pretty good. from the bottom (which for me is the left, given that i'm using it vertically), it is disappointingly bad -- e.g., 15° off-axis and the image is nearly obliterated.

Other Thoughts: got this as a second monitor to sit vertically next to a semi-pro samsung GTG (245T). for the price, pretty decent. however, the difference in off-axis quality is stupefying. i had expected at least some progress in the last few years in terms of off-axis viewability, but apparently that's not the case in non-GTG models. my mistake. on-axis performance, once adjusted, is pretty decent. off-axis performance on three sides is also pretty good. if you intend to use this in a multi-monitor array, think twice about where you intend to place this monitor so the "left" (bottom) viewing in vertical mode isn't a distraction for you. i suspect for 99% of users who just want one landscape-oriented 24" 1080p monitor, this should be pretty enjoyable.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: big; cheap; can rotate;

Cons: big, kinda blurry, display effects significantly worse than Acer X233H (my older screen); not worth it unless you wanna play with Newegg.com's return policy....; the display effect is even worse when rotated;

Other Thoughts: this probably is a refurbished machine as I felt when opening the box and also the darkness in the upper corners;

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: The range of motion of this monitor is exactly as advertised, and the picture quality is amazing. It looks much better when placed in portrait mode than any other monitor with which I've done the same. The base is very sturdy; this thing's not going anywhere. The brightness and contrast of the screen make my 23" Acer look like garbage.

Cons: It's heavy, it's hot, and it makes my 23" Acer look like garbage. My only real concern is power consumption - but if that were enough to drop an egg, I wouldn't be driving it with Fermi technology.

Other Thoughts: The individual pixels don't rotate with the screen, so sub-pixel font rendering doesn't work well when this monitor is rotated 90 degrees relative to another monitor with the same pixel orientation. Oh well.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty Good monitor for the price.

Pros: I have it set up in portrait mode as a second monitor, which was very easy with the locking mechanism on the back of the monitor which allows you to spin the screen on it's stand.

Cons: The monitor quality isn't STELLAR, but that's what you get for this price.

I have it setup in portrait mode, so the problems of LCD monitors when viewed from low (brightens) or high (darkens) angles becomes a problem when viewed from sharp left (brightens) or right (darkens) angles, which is annoying. I really have to have it facing me square on, which makes my setup a little different then what I wished.

Other Thoughts: If it were a solo, primary monitor I think it would do the job well. That being said, IMHO ASUS makes better monitors at similar prices.

Pros: It has a beautiful Display, Amazing 1080p quality. It shipped here with no dead pixels, or any defects at all! Acer really stepped up with this monitor

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: It's massive, and I bought 2 or em!

3 out of 5 eggsinconsistent colors, dims over time

Pros: Great size and price. Low profile bezel, solid stand

Cons: I've bought 3 of these over the past year, each one (even with the same settings) has different brightnesses and color appearances

Putting the monitors next to each other and stretching a white document across the three:

Newest one (and how I remember the other two when I bought them new) - a brilliant white

Older one (4 months older) - a yellower white

Oldest one (5 months older) - a dimmer grayish white. This one dimmed one day suddenly and even at 100% is nowhere near as bright as the new one (I'm considering sending it in for a repair)

Other Thoughts: I guess this is what we are to expect with a $220 monitor, as opposed to a $2000 Apple cinema display

The value is great here, but the quality image doesn't seem to last many months

1 out of 5 eggsSTAY AWAY FROM ACER

Pros: It did turn on out of the box

Cons: we have purchased around 40 of the Acer 24" monitors in a large bulk order a few months ago. Over 50% of them have gone bad within the first 2 months. Yellowing in the lower right hand corner.

Other Thoughts: This cost our company Thousands, it also took over 3 weeks to get the units repaired and sent back, Oh, and WE have to pay shipping back to them for repair. No, we did not buy these on Newegg but I am a big newegg customer and wanted to make people aware of these defective products.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent monitor but not for everyone.

Pros: Adjustable stand with great options.
Great color, clarity.
Easy setup.
Text looks blurry but that is more the video card.
Large!

Cons: Screen tearing in video games.
Resolution needs to start exceeding 1920x1080 for monitors of this size.
Could use a few more connection options.

Other Thoughts: I bought this for a gaming rig and no matter what I do I can not get rid of tearing in video games. It looks horrible. This monitor replaces a 19" dell and I almost want to go back.
It is paired up with an XFXHD6950 with vsync always on so there is more than enough power here.
Just doesn't seem to be a good gaming monitor in my experience hence the 3 eggs.
If you are not a gamer it is a 5 egg monitor.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect..just perfect!

Pros: I love this monitor. One of those things once you get them you wonder how you did without it before! The design is simple, effective and well-built. Quality parts and to keep the cost down only losing out on the "shiny, curvy" design you see in other monitors like the Samsung. For this excellent price you get 2 ms response time, great viewing angles, adjustable stand, 300 cd/m2 brightness and high dynamic contrast. I couldn't be happier.

Cons: Preset styles for controlling brightness and color balance without the option to manually adjust them. No biggie and without reservation I can say it doesn't matter when everything else about this monitor has been done so right.

Other Thoughts: As others have said there is no HDMI but at this price point you wouldn't want that in there anyway because it'd mean a reduction in quality in other areas. Very, very well done, Acer!
