5 out of 5 eggsA Good Monitor

Pros: Sturdy
Stays in one spot
Looks good

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I have it setup next to a monitor which has 100 M:1 ACM, and it's really easy to tell the difference. Get a monitor with 100 M:1 ACM.

5 out of 5 eggsOver 2 years and pleased

Pros: Big fan of this monitor. Picked it up on sale for $100 over 2 years ago around christmas as an impulse buy and glad I did. Very sharp, pleased with it in pretty much every way.

Cons: Unfortunately there's no HDMI, but I knew that going in. It would just have been easier w/out the DVI screws on the cable, but w/e it's not like I ever really unplug it.

Other Thoughts: Solid monitor and at the price I couldn't be happier.

1 out of 5 eggsWorked for 23 months

Pros: Very nice looking display

Cons: The monitor powers on and shows the desktop for 1 second before going black. The power button still stays on... Just no display... Worked solid for 23 months. . Kinda bummed.

Other Thoughts: My Acer X233H monitor has been going strong since 2008 as my primary. I had the Acer G235H as my primary and the X233H as my secondary. Looks like I'm back to the X233H as my primary and the G235H will be going in the trash soon.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor

Pros: Picture is great, value and it works great still

Cons: DVI only, no HDMI

Other Thoughts: Maybe this was cheaper at the time because it was not an HDMI plug monitor. But it was easy enough to get the conversion plug for it.

Great monitor, I will buy another Acer monitor when the time comes. this One was purchased in 9-2012 and still going strong.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent price decent monitor

Pros: Middle of the Range Price
Middle of the Range Display

Just saying it is just good enough for the money nothing spectacular but not to bad for the money.

Cons: True colors (M,Y, Cyan) are decent buy my biggest complaint is the black levels. IF you have sometime near white and near complete black on the screen at the same time forget about it. The black detail is horrible. Even with a completely black screen you can see the back light bleeding in especially around the edges.

Other Thoughts: You get what you pay for. I bought as a display model for only $65 which is great for a second monitor, I leave all of my CAD and gaming to my awesome BENQ.

1 out of 5 eggssecond review, ans boy has my opinion changed.

Pros: the picture quality is decent, nothing to cal home about but nothing to detract from buying it.

Cons: after about years, the monitor has started dying VERY fast. 4 capacitors blew, which i noticed when the monitor started randomly turning off for a second or two once in a while. the power switch has died, so i had to desolder it and replace it with a plain old toggle switch.

i have never used an lcd monitor that collects dust like this thing. for some reason theres a very strong static field across the screen. you can drop dust 6 inches away from it, and most of it will be pulled onto the screen.

color management and other options are terrible. its impossible to get a good looking picture without heavily adjusting the gamma from the monitor itself, and the auto color management option makes everything dull and lifeless.

the backlight is very week. at first, it looked okay. until i realized that the brightness turned up all the way, has almost no brightness to it. you have to crank the contrast on this thing extremely high, which ends up making nearly any color, look like its in 256 color mode.

Other Thoughts: i understand fully that over time parts die, like the power switch, but the capacitors? that is unacceptable. these things didnt even have a name on them, just a value, and looked like the generic green cans you find in knock off ipod chargers and things like that from china.

due to this extreme lack of quality, i will never purchase anything by acer ever again. im not even sure the capacitors i used to replace the old ones are the correct value, because if the old ones were a proper value, they would NEVER have burst like they did. this only happens with too much power going through them, which leads me to believe this entire thing was designed as a knock off product of some other companies monitor, but to avoid being sued they changed the design without actually making sure it was a safe design.
