5 out of 5 eggsIt is far better than I hoped.

Pros: Beautiful screen. Great for games. Great for movies. Great colors and font detail. Touchscreen it amazing.

Cons: I got bored with the touch screen. It's cool but for a monitor you get tired of leaning over to press stuff.

Other Thoughts: If you need a touchscreen, this is it.

2 out of 5 eggsThat's heavy, man

Pros: Nice video. I haven't used the touch screen feature yet, so I might change my mind. Fine for a desktop (warning for attempting to mount on stand!)

Cons: Insanely heavy. Great video is one thing, but if I can't mount it where I can use it, it sucks. I never had to watch (hah!) the weight of a monitor as a spec, but I'm trying to put it on a dual monitor stand and it is really a bear. When mounted with 1" monitor screws, the cables in back struggle and the audio (who uses monitor audio anyway?) would snap. And this is with a $200 rack. Most racks want a max of 6K per or about 10 lbs.

Other Thoughts: I got this for the Windows 8 touch screen function. It may be that I love it, but since I can't really mount it in a convenient orientation for my laptop, I may never find that out.

4 out of 5 eggsLike the guy said, can work with XP.

Pros: Works well with Windows 7. Can get to work with Win XP with work around.

Cons: Using the HP Monitor driver (HP/Compaq L2105tm touch screen monitor).

Download the touchscreen driver, not just the LCD Monitor driver. "HP Compaq L2105tm Touch Driver Software"

Note: Does not have the on-screen keyboard that Windows 7 has for touch screens (with auto-hide). But you can always turn the regular onscreen keyboard on. But this won't work at the log-in screen.

Speakers are usable but not the best.

5 out of 5 eggsIt is XP Compatible

Pros: Kiosk mode for retail use.

Cons: Price

Other Thoughts: I own the Acer T231H and the HP/Compaq L2105tm touch screen monitors. I prefer the Acer hands-down. Some have said that the T231H monitor is not windows XP compatible. That is the reason I bought the HP monitor. I have tested the Acer model with the HP driver. It performs basic touch functions in Windows XP. So you can buy the Acer T231H and download a Windows XP touch driver from HP.com.

The Acer T231H was not accurate out-of-the-box. I had to change the screen resolution and then it worked great. The touch feature is responsive and satisfying. The stand is solid and it does not wobble. I have only used it in kiosk mode. The HP L2105 was accurate out-of-the-box. This screen wobbles a little after each touch. It is not necessary to make contact with the monitor in order for touch to be registered. I find this feature highly annoying. I do not like to remove my finger too far from the screen when moving from place to place over the monitor. This causes multiple touch points across m

1 out of 5 eggsT231H

Pros: Display resolution looks good

Cons: Had to RMA due to digitizer(?) not working.

Other Thoughts: After troubleshooting for probably two hours and a fresh Win7/Driver reinstall I came to this conclusion......
When I unplugged the usb cable an icon named "Flicks" would disappear and upon plugging it back in the "Flicks" would reappear but after trying to configure the touch part it would not recognize a touch at Tablet PC input config screen.
Save yourself the return shipping fee for an RMA, bad part is I did not put that into my overhead for the RMA and with the two week plus wait I am probably stuck with this pile as my customer didn't sound to happy.......

3 out of 5 eggsGood, but not great

Pros: The video quality of this display is way above average. I am still amazed by the crisp and brilliant colors.

Cons: The touch system supports only 2 simultaneous touches. Modern Operating Systems however are heading towards the true, 10-finger multi touch experiences. For the most part though, if all your interested in is single touch or pinch-zoom type interactions, this isn't a bad way to go.

The stand sits very low to the desk and does not adjust or rotate. It has two primary positions, upright like a traditional monitor and leaned far back like a kiosk you might stand above and look down upon.

5 out of 5 eggsworst (best) thing i ever bought

Pros: it is amazing! i am hooking this up to a high power audio work station, nothing compares to the ease i am able to perform simple button clicks and level adjustments. this is one of the most awesome things i have ever worked with. a ton of screen space to work with as well.

Cons: you will never want to use another computer. this makes life so easy you will start trying to poke at all computer screens.

Other Thoughts: buy this, the only bad thing is you will want to buy a second

5 out of 5 eggsI love this monitor!

Pros: Big bright perfect color touch screen is fair quality. Windows 8 plug and play.

Cons: Back of screen looks cheap unsure on backlight technology and touchscreen technology is not as good as my iPhone

Other Thoughts: Price is a little high but I'm not regretting this purchase. It brings new life to my pc.

2 out of 5 eggsOk but only works with win7

Pros: Nice size and clarity. Came with DVI, HDMI and USB cable.
Works great. Have a few of these at work.

Cons: Only supported by Windows 7 operating systems. No drivers on CD or on website for Vista or XP. Called and Acer tech support does not offer any drivers for this device. In fact, it runs off the built in drivers from windows 7. There are no drivers for it period.
For some reason the screen will goes black for a second when logging into windows 7. (No big deal but annoying)
The software on the CD is useless and only helps adjust colors and clarity etc. Also the software continues to prompt you for calibration etc every time the computer is restarted even after calibrating and saving the settings. Had to uninstall the software to avoid this calibrating nuisance.
Had one of a handful that the touch functionality was DOA unfortunately it came from another vendor (Not Newegg) so I had to RMA direct to Acer. The real con here was, Acer wouldn't just replace it, instead they repaired it taking about 2 months to get it back to me. (this is why 2 stars not 3)

Other Thoughts: Don't expect the touch screen feature to work unless you have windows 7 installed. This lack of backwards compatibility is unacceptable and it would have been quite easy for Acer to make drivers for this device for older OS's and even Linux.

5 out of 5 eggsGood monitor for a mediocre idea

Pros: Good size touch monitor (2-touch under Win 7). Responsive. Does not actually require touching the screen, since sensors can detect your finger (stylus, whatever) just before making actual contact. Bright, clear picture at full HD.

Cons: Glass screen is reflective. Speakers are only passable (don't expect miracles) and sometimes produce a "Click" sound (And yes, I have the latest drivers installed.) I am getting sound through the HDMI connection so I do not use the included Audio-Out cable.

Other Thoughts: Picked this up from an outlet. A rare instance of a cheaper price elsewhere.
I have a 4 monitor setup, using the touchscreen as the central monitor. I would only want 1 of these. It is ok for browsing, but I think Mr Softie made an error, because lifting your hands to touch a monitor is many times less ergonomic than the standard keyboard/mouse method. A PC is NOT a phone where you interface with the device while your arms are relaxed. It actually becomes more tiring to keep reaching up rather than just moving the mouse with a flick of the wrist.
I got this monitor for its toy value, but would never think of getting more than one.
