5 out of 5 eggsWorth every penny

Pros: Sharp, brilliant picture. Highly adjustable, with very smooth swivel action. Well-balanced, on a sturdy, compact base. Widest viewing angle (in ALL directions!) I've ever seen on an LCD -- which is great if you're using it in portrait/pivot mode alongside other monitors.
Don't expect booming bass, but compared to other built-in monitor speakers, these are very good.
Comes with a complete set of cables, all with ferrite beads -- even the audio cable; no annoying speaker hum!

Cons: Let the thing go into power-save instead of turning it off, because it takes 13 SECONDS to start up!

Height-adjustment is smooth / spring-loaded, but not intuitive: Push down on monitor and move lock-switch towards left side of monitor, adjust height, move lock-switch back.

Button labels (for OSD/menu) are black-on-black, almost impossible to see in a dim room.

Only pivots clockwise (right edge becomes bottom in portrait mode) -- though it's only an issue because I attached a headset-hook to that side without thinking it through...

Other Thoughts: Product details incorrectly say this has no built-in speakers. It does, and they work via HDMI or 3.5mm audio cable.

5 out of 5 eggsNice monitor

Pros: Everything. The picture quality is just as good as the more expensive monitors I love IPS monitors.

Cons: Price could have been cheaper but you get what you pay for.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat upgrade from 1080

Pros: -ISP
-1920x1200 (WUXGA)

Cons: -14ms Response time, could be faster.

Other Thoughts: I was gaming on old 26" 1080p LED television and let me just say the Acer's picture in comparison is flawless.

Great deal as well.

5 out of 5 eggsGorgeous!

Pros: Good sized monitor as well as an excellent picture. ISP is also a great feature.

Cons: Only 14ms response time, around 60hz. Other than that not a thing wrong with this monitor.

Other Thoughts: Upgraded from 1080p setup, can't beat 16:10.

5 out of 5 eggsI like it.

Pros: Portrait mode. More Pixels. IPS is nice.

Cons: Bad backlight bleed. BLACK isn't black.

Other Thoughts: I'm comparing this monitor ( the Acer B243PWL ) with my previous one,
the HP w2338h, a non⋅IPS (TN) non⋅LED ( CCFL, Fluorescent ) display,
1920 x 1080, 23".

Brightness is set to Zero, Contrast to 100%, slight gamma adjustment.
ASCR (dynamic contrast) is OFF... what a joke that is !
Colors at RGB( 32 29 28 ). DVI cable.

The viewing angle isn't great, but it's MUCH BETTER than what I had.
The higher resolution ( 1200 instead of 1080 ) is VERY nice.
Portrait is better than lanscape. I'm keeping this monitor !

I use 100% BLACK backgrounds, all the time,
and the backlight bleed⋅through is HORRENDOUS.
The corners are MUCH brighter than the middle.

In a dark room, as I am, black isn't truly black, of course.

For the price ( $280 + $12 shipping ), I doubt I could find
an LED backlit monitor with less backlight bleeding.
I'll live with it.

It has many more shades of grey than my previous monitor.
It's slow to turn on and the splash screen is annoying.

No stuck pixels. No Back⋅Light Flickering.
After lowering the brightness, the "IPS (anti⋅glare) Glow" was gone.
No hum (my CCFL had a tiny hum).

5 out of 5 eggsMade my old monitor look REAL bad

Pros: Bought this cause I'm tired of my PC thinking it is a TV (Tired of current monitors all being 1080p. (I WANT HIGHER VERTICAL RESOLUTION! Stop going wider and give me some verticle!)

Black is VERY black. White is VERY white (Not grey). VERY NICE

Cons: Vertical adjustment lock just a bit wonky.

Other Thoughts: Buy this!

4 out of 5 eggsFantastic Monitor

Pros: I have two of these. Thanks to the IPS panel (look it up), these have great picture. Bright, but not too bright. LED backlighting makes them run significantly cooler than older CCFL backlit monitors. Sturdy construction (doesn't bounce around), and can go landscape or portrait mode. No dead pixels, and the Acer warranty/service does what it's supposed to.

Has plenty of connections, and comes with plenty of cables for them (except USB).

Cons: Sent in one of two for dead pixels a week after I got it. A few months later, still none.

The colors do not appear to be factory calibrated (can't find documentation saying so). But so long as they are accurate enough (blue is blue, red is red, etc...), I don't care much.

The on screen settings are a bit unintuitive, and the buttons might be pushed a bit further back into the monitor with time/repair (as what happened to my serviced one), but still usable.

Like printers, they forgot the USB cable.

Other Thoughts: Bought these to replace 3-4 year old 24" TN monitors. They are a nice step up from what I had, and cheaper to boot. I might pick up a third one eventually.

I only have it connected through DVI, and have not tried the USB hub or audio ports.

3 out of 5 eggsCame in early.

Pros: VARY SOLID, looks really sexy in a boxy way.
comes with everything you need in the box, ships well, no damage at all.

Cons: I am not sure that this 100,000,000,000,000,000:1 is just an overattentive way for them to make people buy it. But it is a . D a M n. good picture to me, still researching and running contrast test.

Other Thoughts: If you cant find anything else with these specs for cheaper, This is still not a bad buy at all.
