3 out of 5 eggsDrivers very unstable

Pros: -Excellent display in all lighting
-easy to use button menu for swapping sources
-cool operation

Cons: just one, touchscreen USB3 bombs out after reboot. The drivers for Windows 7 and 8 and 8.1 are not updated by manufacturer. Keeps giving registery corrupt for product entry

Other Thoughts: Hey Acer, fix the touch screen compatibility and you got a winner 5 stars!

2 out of 5 eggsTouch screen reliability

Pros: Screen image is amazing. Probably one of sharpest images I've seen on any monitor. The design where is rests on the desktop is very stable. The touch (while it works) is very nice. 3 year warranty (you'll need it).

Cons: Touch reliability. Out of two monitors, both have had the touch feature fail. The first one lasted about a year. The second was bad (1/4 of the screen dead to touch) out of the box. With this kind of failure rate, it's very hard to recommend this monitor.

Other Thoughts: Keep your box! Most likely you will be sending it back to Acer within the 3 year warranty period. If it wasn't for the touch screen failure issues, this would be an easy 5 egg rating.

2 out of 5 eggsACER T232HL Nice Monitor but

Pros: Monitor resolution, brightness, looks, and was recommended from a friend who owns the this monitor.

Cons: DVD only contains the worthless instructions for set up,colors needed to be calibrated

Other Thoughts: The "kickstand" is stiff but rated to set the monitor at angle of 80 deg. to 30 deg. Mine was so stiff that when I had it standing up at 80 deg. and after about an hour it suddenly closed back up against the monitor and fell face flat on the desk, luckily no harm. I then put the monitor in the 30 deg. from horizontal position that I was going to use it in full time. After about an hours use, I had to leave and run an errand and came home to find the monitor in the floor and the touch screen broken. I live alone with no pets. The only possibility for this is the kickstand. I took the monitor back to where I bought and explained the problem and that it was not there fault. They tried to help by contacting Acer support. I tried to file a claim for a material defect to Acer support for the kick stand. I was told the warranty for defective material, will not apply nor would the standard warranty without any other reason or case # provided. The Asian accented person did identify himself as Henry Badge DWSI2229. Keep in mind the product warranty does allow for defects and material workmanship.

4 out of 5 eggsLike it so far

Pros: It seems sturdy. The stand is pretty stout - it's adjustments are perhaps stiff (as others have noted) for a reason. I've had zero problems with the touch capabilities, and am too fresh into the workstation touchscreen experience to have found any of the limitations others have noted. I especially like the number of patch cables the purchase bundles.

Cons: As others have noticed, it's hard to imagine why the bezel is that wide, though maybe that'll be useful when I use it laid near-flat. Although the price is fairly low, it varied wildly during the time I watched, and I ended up paying more for it than I intended.

Other Thoughts: Frankly, I'm not positive the cons are serious, hence I dinged the review only one egg. This thing is connected to a hoss of a build, and, so far (admittedly early on) it handles things well.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't Waste Your Money

Pros: Sleek design, good picture, VGA/DVI/HDMI inputs

Cons: I bought this for touch screen use with Windows 8.1 Pro. Only the left half of the screen can be used with touch. The mouse works on the whole screen, but I could have purchased a much cheaper monitor if I wanted to use just a mouse. There are complaints about this in the Acer forums and Acer has yet to deal with the problem.

5 out of 5 eggsLovely Screen, DON'T whack it on the edge...

Pros: Floats on the end of an ergotron arm like magic. It's been a wonderful display. The edge to edge glass looks great.

Cons: It is (in my case at least) very vulnerable to edge strikes. I was reaching for something behind the screen and whacked it with my watch... It was a gentle enough kiss I didn't notice or even see the crack until the touch screen freaked out. I've already ordered another I liked it so much, and opened a ticket for repair with Acer. I'll let you know what new glass costs once they tell me. Can't seem to find a new glass online anywhere...

4 out of 5 eggsGreat touchscreen monitor

Pros: Sleek, lightweight yet sturdy design. I like the fact it can be angled. The price seems good for such a clear and vibrant picture quality plus the fact this is a touchscreen. The responsiveness of the touchscreen is very good.

Cons: Wished they offered a 120Hz version and the menu interface is dated for such a modern design monitor. Other than those two minor nitpick issues I have no complaints or regrets.

Other Thoughts: Given the choice I would buy this again.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitor

Pros: Very high quality monitor and gorgeous picture. Honestly its the best monitor I have owned and for $300 its a steal.

Cons: Built is speakers are not great but good enough for me.

Other Thoughts: If you have Windows 8 this is the monitor you need.
