5 out of 5 eggsPerfect for Windows 8

Pros: This monitor is extremely bright and clear. Even compared to my other monitors with higher resolution (1920x1200 and 25.5" diagonal), it's beautiful to look at and touch. Including all the necessary cables is a nice touch, and the three USB 3.0 ports are handy. While the lower bezel is plastic, the rest is all glass, which is great for Windows 8 swipes. (The lower bezel can be removed as well, which is useful for wall mounting.) It's VESA (100x100) compatible, which means wall mounting is a cinch with any standard gear, and the multiple inputs (VGA, DVI, HDMI, as well as an extra audio input) are easily selectable.

Cons: Depending on your wall mount, you may need to plug in the connections before the wall mounting plate. Most of the inputs are in the center of the back of the monitor, and they may be covered up by the wall mounting plate. My mounts come about a foot off the wall, so it's not a matter of it being too close to the wall. The ports are just covered. Additionally, the USB connector is standard on the computer side, but proprietary on the monitor side. It's sort of a mix between the square USB connection and a micro USB connection, but all in one cable. It's not a big deal as the cable is included, but if that cable is lost or severed, it'll be a hunt to replace it.

Other Thoughts: I had some cons with this monitor, but it's fantastic for everyday use, both with touch and general use. It's very well suited for Windows 8, and the price, for the time being, is perfect for the size and resolution. With the 5ms response time, it's also well suited to gaming and HD video. For those curious, it's just a giant tablet screen for Windows 8. It'll take an hour or two to get used to the swipes and touched Windows 8 responds to, but once you know it, you'll want to touch every screen and expect a response.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect for Windows 8

Pros: Clear, bright and responsive to touch. Love the ability to lay it nearly flat. Set up with zero fuss. Feels like the future.

Cons: Very minor: doesn't have a Start button like the Windows 8 tablets.

Other Thoughts: When I use this with the Maps app or viewing photos (with my fast computer) I feel like I'm in a Science Fiction movie, it is really frigging cool.

To address some negatives I read in other reviews before buying: the bezel is wide to allow touch gestures that drag starting off-screen, something necessary for Windows 8. If there was custom gesture software from Acer I would not install it -- the point here is to have a Windows 8 experience, and the customization must come from that. Also Windows 8 did identify the monitor correctly.

I don't write reviews much, and I don't particularly care for Acer, but they nailed the Windows 8 touchscreen experience.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty good, but not perfet

Pros: Good color reproduction, good black levels, good gamma, 5ms response time, display is clear, glare is not too bad, easy to set up (so software to install), touch screen is just as responsive as any other capacative screen. Honestly, it has the best display quality in its price range. You would have to spend a lot more money for this level of display quality without a touch screen.

Using windows 8 pro with a touch screen is pretty awesome. I love being able to choose whether I want to use touch or keyboard / mouse depending on what I'm doing. I'm using it in a dual screen setup vertically. The touch screen in front of me and a 23" non touch screen on top of it. I plan to do a 3 screen setup eventually with two 23" non touch and this touch.

Comes with a vga cable, a HDMI cable, AND a DVI-D cable. I like them choices! And it has 3 USB 3.0 ports on the side.

Cons: Advertised as having 178 degree horizontal and vertical display angles, but what they dont tell you as you can only tilt it 80 degrees with the display mount. I wish it went further, especially since its competition, the dell 23" touch screen, can be tilted completely flat. Also, vertical display angles are not near as good as horizontal display angles. At 80 degrees while sitting in a chair there is a slight amount of color change on the top of the display.

The bezel is quite wide... I'm not sure why it needs to be so wide.

As other reviewers have mentioned, when setting up the display mount it feels like you are going to snap it! Don't worry though, the display is very sturdy, and that wont happen.

I wish capacative touch screen had better response times on touch. When moving windows around in the traditional desktop it does feel sluggish, but this is about the only time this occurs. A couple years from now I think companies will start putting an emphasis on touch screen response times.

The menu buttons on the right are a little to easy to hit accidentally. I ended up turning the display on and off so many times when I was setting it up.

Other Thoughts: In the end, there are a lot of cons, but having a 23" touch screen tablet connected to my Sandy Bridge 2600k, 250GB SSD, 16GB ram, Nvidia gtx 460 is just plain awesome. Bet your iPad can't do that!

5 out of 5 eggsNice monitor

Pros: Looks nice. Good build quality. Colors and brightness are excellent. Touchscreen is responsive. 3 extra USB 3 ports on the side.

Cons: Not really a con because its just the nature of the beast, but shiny glass will glare if near window and bright light. Glass will need to be cleaned regularly.

3 out of 5 eggsVery nice monitor but needs better software

Pros: The hardware itself is beautiful. The surface of the screen is sleek, responsive and easy to work with.

Tilt functionality is a nice touch and the flat surface is ideal for windows 8.

The contrast/brightness on the monitor is also really sharp and crisp. Easy to see from a very wide range of angles.

Cons: Whilst it claims Windows 8 Compatible logo there is basically zero supporting software for the monitor. The monitor installs as all generic devices (like USB HID Device) and does not even identify it as Acer so you cannot identify it in device manager.

There is also no way to customize the touchscreen with custom gestures. The CD that comes with it contains nothing but a manual.

Other Thoughts: The hardware itself is a thing of beauty and it does indeed work with Windows 8 well for basic functionality. It is however screaming out for proper drivers and perhaps a desktop tool / tray icon that allows you to add custom gestures (similar to touchpad customizing apps).

Overall, otherwise a nice monitor and definitely fun to play with. If you don't want anything more than basic functionality its pretty good. If you want more either check if Acer has decided to add better software before purchasing or look elsewhere.

5 out of 5 eggsTyping on this monitor now :)

Pros: its quite stunning actually, the glass is super sexy, and it shimmers with shiny awesomeness that floats on my already glass desk. its super bright and the colors make the windows 8 tiles pop, however the complete functionality of windows 8 is gonna take time to get use to and is a different story. the IPS and 1080P works like they should and it tilts easier expected. the touch is really accurate and its just like having a tablet but only way bigger and powered by your 6 core beast of a desktop rig. so far so good and i'll let you know more as I use her moreee.

Cons: Extending the tilter on the back at first took a lot of force, i was scared it was gonna die. Also typing this with the one screen keyboard I seemed to keep hitting B instead of "space" but I spared everyone the misery of reading sometimes what seemed to be jibberish. Also the buttons on the side aren't lit up and have no symbol indicators, but whatever, I still love this monitor.

Other Thoughts: Still super awesome and totally work it.
