5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product

Pros: The Monitor: Great product.
Great picture, to be expected from 100,000,000:1 contrast.
The slim frame is great and makes the screen feel larger than it is whenever im gaming.
The power and other buttons are well hidden on bottom right of the frame.

The Stand:
Very durable and actually made of real metal (not fake wannabe plastics)

Accessories:
VGA, DVI, and HDMI. all are mid range cables. not the cheap stuff that will fry out after a couple weeks.

Cons: Yes there is a slight amount of light bleed just like 99% of all LED/LCD screens. But it is so small that ive only noticed it once and that was while playing crysis 3 on ultra settings. even then it was barely noticeable.

Other Thoughts: I ordered this Thursday at 11:00 AM the monitor was processed and shipped by 12:11 PM and i received it at my door at roughly 11:30 AM Friday. i used the basic shipping (2-6). This is just awesome so two thumbs up to Newegg!

3 out of 5 eggsMiss the day's of normal LCD

Pros: Slim, plenty of connection options.

Cons: Sadly, like all other LED light LCD out there, this unit suffers from major light bleed.

I didn't notice clouding, but only tested to make sure it worked. I bought this monitor for a system I am putting together, it won't see major use until I'm finished.

Other Thoughts: Light bleed is a common problem for LED tv's and monitors. I just hate the fact that a old Dell LCD that I got 2nd handed doesn't have these problems, while a monitor which is suppose to be an improvement has such obvious poor screen uniformity.

I give Newegg a 5/5, shipped within a hour of me ordering, and arrived less than 72 hours later. Now that's service!

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than the 23" version

Pros: - IPS panel for clarity
- VGA, DVI, HDMI cables included
- Thin bezels
- Low profile buttons
- Pixel density better than 23" (see other thoughts)

Cons: For the price, there is no con.

Other Thoughts: I own the 23" version (H236HLbid) and wrote a review for that one too (with lagom.nl tests). I like this 21.5" one better and here's why:
After staring at and getting used to the 23" version, I began to see black outlines of the pixels on that one. As I'm typing this with the 21.5" as my primary and the 23" as my secondary, I can see the outlines.
On the 21.5" however, the pixel density seems to be just right for the 1920 x 1080 resolution. I do not notice the black grid.

*I sit with the monitors in my face. If you have a desk with good distance between you and the monitor, the 23" will look just fine. Both are 1920 x 1080 native.

I hope this was helpful to someone.

4 out of 5 eggsLooks nice

Pros: Very slim design. Has a very clean and sharply displayed image. Using with HDMI with no problems with the display.

Cons: After 3 months, the unit started to turn on/off on its own. It wasn't losing signal from the PC as the power light would be off, not amber. Power adapter tested fine.

Other Thoughts: Pleased with the monitor before it started to turn off every 2 minutes. Now waiting on Acer as it had to be shipped to them.

5 out of 5 eggsOutstanding!

Pros: Comes with all the cables, sleek design, well packaged, very bright and colorful, and was delivered swiftly.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Remember to save the twist ties and cable covers, they help with cable management

5 out of 5 eggsAcer H226HQLbid IPS monitor

Pros: Clear and bright with absolutely beautiful colors.

Comes with three separate input cords which is a nice bonus.

No bad pixels.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Great IPS monitor suitable for any use.

5ms response time equates to 200fps capability which means no ghosting.. not even a little bit. If you see ghosting while gaming it's not this monitor's fault.

3 out of 5 eggsGhosting

Pros: 1. EXTREMELY clear screen
2. Very sturdy stand (so such a thing actually DOES exist)
3. Great input response
4. Thin
5. Back facing ports (very easy to plug in the cables)

Cons: Unfortunately I can't suggest this monitor to gamers. It may bother some more than others, but there is noticeable ghosting.

NOTE: I'm using DVI as my input.

When I play a game like BF3 on most maps the ghosting isn't much of a bother. However, when I play a game with more defined colors such as Minecraft it gets very annoying. Simply moving around or turning the camera outlines all the green trees that collide with the blue sky with ghosting. If I create a sign, the text on it will get a bright ghost outline every time I move my view.

Depending on the colors in the area, movement can get very blurry. I could see this getting nauseating in games that don't have a built-in motion blur.

Another major issue I had was calibrating the monitor. By default it started out much darker than I was accustomed to, and a bit more contrasty. Some of the contrast came from me not being adjusted to the clarity that this monitor provides, but there were definitely things that were more difficult to see than they should have been.

After a lot of playing around with the settings, I eventually had to get a dark version of the contrast I wanted and pump up the gamma in my graphics card settings.

Also the viewing angles aren't perfect. IPS prevents the color loss that most monitors suffer, but in general there isn't even close to a night and day difference between this and a quality non-IPS LED/LCD monitor.

In summary:

1. Ghosting (very noticeable in some situations)
2. Required help from GPU settings to achieve the brightness/contrast ratio my past LCDs defaulted to on DVI
3. No "wow factor" on the viewing angles

Other Thoughts: Great build quality and features, but in my opinion, not worth it. The ghosting is a deal breaker.

NOTE: When you unbox this thing, don't assume there's a plastic cover on the screen. There is a plastic cover on the edges, but not the screen. So if you put it under your arm like I did, you'll get smudges on your fancy new screen.

Otherwise there was nothing else wrong with the way it's packaged.

Pros: Bright, vivid, gorgeous picture with great color

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I have 3 of these hooked up in a triple monitor landscape array. They look absolutely fantastic and were a great deal for the money.

5 out of 5 eggsTriple Display Acer

Pros: This monitor is beautiful!! Very sleek and glossy finish. Amazing picture quality. Great with DVI, VGA, and HDMI hookups. IPS rocks and this monitor does it well.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: If you're looking for a good triple monitor setup and want quality and value in one, then this is the monitor for you.

5 out of 5 eggsto the first reviewee

Pros: 3 year warranty

high-density 21.5" diagonal formfactor

16:9 aspect ratio @ 1080p

In-Plane Switching [IPS] panel

HDMI 1.3 or better with HDCP

EnergyStar

tilts

audio-output as all display devices truly should!!

Cons: I don't own this

the first reviewer didn't buy this for its audio-output haha

Other Thoughts: this is in reply to the first review on this Eggcellent monitor, 'Jem'.

the reason this and many other displays have an audio-output is because most HDMI and all DisplayPort connections can carry audio signals, whether as part of protected content integrated into the video stream or standalone in discrete channels - thus without an audio-output you might find yourself in the situation of being able to watch a bluray but not being able to hear it (if your other audio sources don't properly support said content's protection scheme or the drivers are being whacky for instance)

this means you can effectively use your graphical processor, whether integrated or discrete for both video and sound if if has an HDMI or DisplayPort connector and your monitor also has either DisplayPort or HDMI also &AND& an audio-output like this model

just FYI for all whom read
