1 out of 5 eggsAt least it works

Pros: It works as advertised. I've owned this for a short time, but I can certainly agree with most of the great reviews. I've used this product every day since receiving it and have had no problems. My expectations were certainly met.

Cons: A year from now, I might be able to give this product 5 eggs. But for now, here is my issue with the product. The box sent to me had security stickers placed over the original factory tape. The box had obviously been opened before being sent. The contents appeared new except for the smudge on the bulb. I'm just not sure if I received a "new in box" product.

Other Thoughts: I bought the extra warranty instead of returning it. Fingers crossed. It's also worth noting that the projector was shipped in its retail box. Newegg verified via email that is how they are sent.

5 out of 5 eggsHUGE DISPLAY!

Pros: Huge Screen!
It displays on my white wall perfectly <3
I have it on the lowest size!
Focusing the screen is easy / straightforward
My first projector, I haven't replaced the bulb yet but it seems to be easy to do.
Most Importantly, It looks amazing! 1080p movies are stunning!

Cons: Runs a little hot but that's expected.
Finding a projector screen is hard / expensive (though white walls work well )
The legs aren't all adjustable, making it somewhat hard to angle, I don't know why they went with 2 of 3 legs being adjustable, kind of annoying but once you have it set up it doesn't really matter.

Other Thoughts: If you can get this on sale (like I did) I recommend it, gaming / watching movies is an entirely new experience! now I just have to get a surround sound system!

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

Pros: I love this projector! It's not as loud or hot as my previous NEC and the picture quality is amazing! It's not terribly heavy either. You don't need anything real hardcore to mount it.

Cons: It doesn't rain money on me while I watch movies.

Other Thoughts: The remote seemingly works regardless of where you point it.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice picture

Pros: Vivid picture
Good black levels
Can customize a lot of the RBG levels
Can be projected from any orientation
Has keystone adjustment
On board speaker

Cons: Speaker is a bit soft for playing movies or T.V.
No 3D glasses
Fan is a bit loud sometimes
Only 2 HDMI ports

Other Thoughts: This was on sale on black Friday for a good price, so I decided to give it a try and see how it looked. I currently have it shooting at 115". I am very happy with the picture quality, it is very vivid and black levels are good even in a pretty bright room. I have not tried it in 3D so I can't comment on that, I'm sure it is probably very good as well. The on board speaker is a little lack-luster but would do fine for a presentation or for watching T.V. in a pinch.

5 out of 5 eggsImpressive Little Unit

Pros: Lightweight
Small Size
Not too loud
Tripod Mount
2D to 3D conversion and it works

Cons: No level to move the picture up or down

Other Thoughts: I purchased a Panasonic PT-AE700U in late 2005 and was very happy with until Nov 2014 when the lamp blew up and scared the bejesus out of me not to mention it ruined my movie night. I paid 1,849.00 for it back then, yes a lot of money. At that time it was top of the line and very good and indeed it was. Now I needed to either buy a lamp for it at 252.00 dollars or buy a new projector. The new Panasonic one sells for 1999.00 for the 3D version. Since I have to be frugal I decided to buy the Acer H6510BD because Newegg had it for 449.99 on a cybersale.
So I decided what the heck, I will get it and if it does not work I will simply return it. After I buy it I realize that Newegg does not accept returns on this item. So I started feeling a little worried about this purchase.
So, here is goes, my experience with the new Acer H6510BD after using it for 2 weeks and trying out most of the settings. First of all let me describe my home theater setup. I have a Da-Lite Model B w/CSR Manual Screen: 106”, a Yamaha RX-V773, a PSP 3 Blu-Ray player, SainSonic Zodiac 904 Series 3D glasses and of course the Acer H6510BD. After unpacking the projector I see that it is a lot lighter and smaller than the Panasonic one which are all good things.
First annoyance, my old projector sat on a shelve on the wall all the way up -When I put the Acer on this shelve the image was being projected on the ceiling. I don’t want to mount it on the ceiling because my house is old and there are not many options. Since there is NO way to move the picture up or down -I decided well, I will overlook this and get a tripod since Acer was nice enough to add this feature to the projector. I bought a cheap Targus tripod from the Target for about 20 bucks. So first annoyance has been addressed.
Now nothing showing on the screen when I play a 3D movie. So, I find out that you need to enable HDMI pass through on the receiver and turn 3D on in the PlayStation. I did this I got the movie projected in the screen. After all this craziness I can honestly tell you that this is a great little projector. Very bright and clear. I can now have a small table lamp on and still watch the movie. Tested a lot of movies and of course the winner is Avatar 3D. One last thing I tested, which I know a lot of people do not know about this projector is that it includes NVIDIA 3DTV Play which claims can turn 2D to 3D. Well, I have only tried one blu-ray disc with this 2D to 3D feature –Galapagos. I have to say I was not expecting much out of this but it blew my mind away. After testing and configuring my setup I have to say that even at a retail price of 799.99 this projector is totally worth it and I am no longer concerned about the no return policy. So please before complaining about the projector, know what it can and cannot do. I honestly recommend that you get someone that knows a little about electronics before giving it a bad review or thinking it does not work properly and

5 out of 5 eggsMUCH better than standard TVs

Pros: Best picture, color quality I've seen. I've owned multiple LCD, LED, Plasma TV's and this projector is superior in picture quality.

Cons: None really, besides having to install the screen and ceiling mount. It is well worth it though

Other Thoughts: Never going back to flat screen TV's again

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Theater Proj

Pros: Great Proj. I have had it projecting on a white wall with no issues. I finally got my screen and its even better! This isn't a terrible proj I was going to get a much more expensive one when I read the tech details and said why not and ordered it. I was really happy I did! When I got it the proj was on sale for $600.

Cons: None- just the standard price of bulbs but I haven't had to replace one yet and I have 500 hours on the bulb.

Other Thoughts: I did wish it had more features like wifi with Netflix but im not sure if I would use those features much.

4 out of 5 eggsLike it so far.

Pros: Very bright, quiet, easy to set up and got it on sale from the egg.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: This is my first projector so I really have nothing to compare it to. It was a toss up between this one and the similar BenQ. Price was the bottom line and Newegg put this one on sale when I was ready to buy. I got it yesterday and set it up temporarily with an original xbox 360 that only has component out for video (yes, there is at least one still alive)
I took it out of the box, set it on the table, connected the xbox to it, turned it on, leveled it, turned on the xbox, sized and focused the screen to my liking and that was it. I'd say 13' from the wall the image was about 10' wide. We played Madden, Titanfall and of course Minecraft on it and it looked great on a flat white painted wall. Not as good as my plasma TV of course but time and testing will tell. I will mount it to the wall this weekend and get the 1080p, 3D and surround sound system working. I'm really hoping the image quality gets better. with the 1080p hdmi connection. I am also going to paint a screen on the wall once I determine the size we are comfortable with. According to Projector Central this projector will throw a 14' wide image from 17', the length of my room.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Happy With Projector

Pros: When it comes to clear video and audio I have good standards. I prefer the crispness and clearness of .wavs over .mp3s. When I first saw the picture I was amazed at how clear it was. I was blown away at the focus feature which expanded the size of the screen almost twice as big. Believe me when I say this projector is QUIET. I couldn't believe it didn't put out so little sound. It puts out about as much heat as if you hover your hand over a soldering iron but in a cool room it dissipates and is almost unnoticeable. I play Mass Effect on it and its about 3 feet away from my head and I don't even know its there. If you are one of those people who can tell the difference between HD and 4K then this miiiight not be the projector for you. But if you are happy with BluRay or .avi files in HD then you will like this projector. The projector is super lightweight and comes with a case which is handy to carry the remote. It feels really portable. I have brought it over to a few friend's houses and had movie night on the fly. I have friends asking me to bring it over now because its so cool. I wanted to get a higher end version but settled with this because of the affordable price and the specifications. I got it on sale for $600 with shipping. Highly recommended.

Cons: Though I'm happy with the projector there are a few tiny nuisances. First, being as its a projector, proper placement is crucial. Properly placing it and positioning it and key stoning it is kind of a pain, but hey it works good. The one thing that really bothered me though was the positioning screw/legs on the rear corners. They designed it so that only one side is adjustable which is quite awkward. It should have 2. I don't know what the Acer people were thinking but to circumvent this you just need to place an object underneath the projector to straighten out the image. Also, keep in mind, I believe the 3D setting is slightly different than other projector in Hz speed. I think its lower but I'm not sure.
