5 out of 5 eggsWorks for clear text for the older eyes amongst us

Pros: Came with DVI, display port, and RGB cable. Raises and tilts.

Cons: Needs a graphics card, your Windows box can't push highest rez on its own.

Other Thoughts: Cheapest hi res monitor you can get so you can read text at high resolution. Older eyes will love how clear the text is. Just remember to buy a video card that can do the DVI type that this monitor supports. Unless you are driving with a MAC your Windows can't push this to highest res. Older DVI cards and cables won't work. It has to be the latest DVI cables 9 (1 is bundled) and graphics card (dual in my case) which is another $100. Got the EVGA GT640 and it worked for this user

5 out of 5 eggsI LOVE this monitor!

Pros: Really beautiful image, very high resolution, games look amazing!!! Much cheaper than most competitors. Really great stand that goes up/down swivels left/right and the whole thing rotates portrait. Three digital input options with cables included. I am using dual link DVI-D and it displays at 1440P.

Cons: Few color adjustments and no manual which describes the options which are available. Usb slot is in a hard to access location. I can’t really comment on color accuracy, it looks fine to me but if you are particular or a graphics designer, you probably shouldn’t be buying the cheapest 27” 1440P anyway

Other Thoughts: Upgraded from a 24” Dell with 1920X1200, 6:10 aspect ratio. Was worried my GTX 660 2gb would not perform well at 1440P with settings still on high, that I wouldn’t like 6:9 or that the screen would be too large for desk, all proved wrong.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat deal with minor caveats

Pros: Great price.
High resolution.
Thin and lightweight.
USB 3.0 hub.
IPS panel.

Cons: Mediocre image quality (crosshatching up close).

Other Thoughts: It works without the issues others have experienced, however on the Mac I had to "Force RGB Mode" before it displayed correctly, which took some searching to determine was the issue because at first it just appeared that the quality was awful.
After that was resolved, it was significantly better but compared to an HPZR2740w that I use with the same Mac, the Acer has a subtle crosshatching when viewed up close.

3 out of 5 eggsGood Budget Monitor - but Speakers are Useless

Pros: - Height, swivel, and rotation adjustment
- Best price for a fully adjustable 1440p monitor
- Easy to use controls - easy to switch between inputs
- Lots of included cables!

Cons: - Speakers are completely useless. Another reviewer compared the speakers to placing ear-buds on the desk, and he's absolutely correct. Do not buy expecting to be able to even use the speakers.
- I'm not a display expert, so I'm not really able to comment on the quality of the display. Colors, brightness and contrast all look good to me. There is probably just a little bit of bleeding in the lower left corner that's noticeable with very dark backgrounds.

Other Thoughts: I read the reviews going in, but I thought I'd at least be able to get by for a while until I bought a better speaker system.

I was looking for a 1440p monitor with height adjustment, and this least expensive one available with or without the speakers, so I still would buy this regardless. But after receiving the product, I'm still docking just for the fact that they try to market this as a monitor with speakers. They really just do not work.

They could have added decent speakers (like on the Asus monitors) for a few $$ more and still would be at a similar price point compared to other options, or they could have just gotten rid of the speakers and lowered the cost just a little bit more.

Overall, I'm enjoying 1440p productivity and gaming! But now I need a bigger GPU - hmm......

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Buy

Pros: Great resolution. Great picture quality. 2560x1440 is excellent. I have an Nvidia 560Ti and it runs at full resolution flawlessly. I read several reviews about a buzzing sound but I have no buzzing. Build quality seems very good and brightness and color are very good. There are a few Korean monitors that are cheaper, but this is a very good value (I purchased on sale at $449).

Cons: None

4 out of 5 eggsNice major brand 2560 monitor

Pros: 1. Price is unbeatable
2. Vivid color (copared to my 5-year-old Samsung 2443BW)
3. Great resolution for gaming
4. Various inputs supported (more on this later)
5. Nice finishing and sturdy stand

Cons: 1. Displayport support is buggy at times. It takes so long to detect the input signal that I never saw my UEFI bootup. No problem with DVI input.
2. Top bezel is the weak spot. DO NOT carry this unit with just to top bezel. It's much heavier than a normal 24" 1080p monitor and if you do that you risk damaging your unit. (Mine doesn't have the "buzz" issue)
3. The stand while sturdy is pretty big. Make sure you have enough space for that.

Other Thoughts: Other reviewers said this monitor is not good for games due to lag. Well, I suspect the lag doesn't come from the monitor but your hardware. 2560x1440 requires quite a bit more oomph from your computer to drive, especially in current-era (late-2013) FPS like Battlefield 4 or CoD: Ghost. I have a 2-way SLI GTX780 setup and I don't see much noticeable drop in FPS (which has been over 60fps most of the time). You also need a higher dpi mouse to cope with the extra pixel...or use the not-so-precise mouse acceleration feature in most games.

As mentioned before, the top bezel is weak. Do not carry it with just that. I really suspect people having the "buzz" issue is probably due to that, or the package person did that. The top bezel is filmsy at best. I used both hands to pull it out and during installation.

Knocked off an egg due to the buggy DisplayPort support. DVI dual-link works fine as always.

5 out of 5 eggsso far so good

Pros: -zero dead pixels
-beautiful color and stunning resolution produce great results for movies, web surfing and games. This is my second Acer monitor in 4 years. My other Acer was a 1080p and worked great. Ended upgrading to this one and giving my 1080p to my brother.
Paired monitor with Asus gtx 780Ti

Cons: So far none. Got the monitor on sale for $499. Ordered monitor 4PM Eastern and got delivered next day. Fantastic job Newegg

Cons: On heavy computing monitor goes GRAY!!

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent monitor for the price

Pros: USB 3.0, can also charge devices with monitor off.
Excellent brightness, contrast, and adjustment options (RGB and CYM saturation and hue adjustments)
PIP works great; i can watch tv while babysitting a render
The stand is great.

Cons: The speakers sound worse than those on my ancient Inspiron 5150 from 2003; seriously, earbuds cranked up and plugged in are louder and have more bass. I only tried them to see how they sound; i use Behringer truth studio monitors or Sennheiser HD-25-II's.

The manual explains basically nothing. Its a monitor though; easy to figure out.

Other Thoughts: The stand was surprisingly well built; i was going to go with the off-brand korean WQHD displays, but didnt want dead pixels or other issues, USB 3.0 and other display inputs were also a plus. This came in absolutely perfect, the stand allows rotation at the base, height adjustment with one finger, and screen horizontal/vertical modes quite easily.

It was also near spot-on calibrated from the factory in sRGB; i had it close as it gets in minutes.

I will be picking a few more of these up for work; the first replaced a pair of LG 19" 1440x900 monitors i had since 2007; a very nice upgrade.

This is my 3rd IPS LED backlit device; the others are 1280x800 7" field monitors for work. All three of them display almost exactly the same gamut and have similar output, which is phenomenal that i can finally get the same image from cam monitoring, to editing, to output.

5 out of 5 eggsA great upgrade from 1080p

Pros: Great resolution for gaming.
Nice form factor.
Reasonably-sized frame.

Cons: The monitor I received had some dust/particulate between the display and the glass. However, after I let it settle for about 2 or 3 days it fell to the bottom of the frame and does not disrupt the picture. I did not deduct and egg for this as it doesn't affect usage.

Other Thoughts: This is my first monitor above 23" and I have found that I need to sit further away from it.
