2 out of 5 eggsBe prepared to RMA this

Pros: The projector itself is good quality (when it works) and has great picture/clarity for the most part. I've occasionally seem some color flickering with brightly colored images (like cartoons and such) but in generally it holds up pretty well even in Eco mode (to preserve the lamp life) it is bright enough to hold up with some ambient light in the room (unless you are watching something particularly dark)

Cons: It took me multiple RMAs to get a functional model. First it arrived with a damaged inner lens that appeared as a giant black smudge at first but when I focused the lens was a massive black scratch of some kind. The next one showed up with a severe fan issue such that it would eventually shut off on it's own saying "Fan Failure - powering off" (a problem that I have had with Acer projectors in the past too )

Other Thoughts: Dealing with Newegg on this RMA string was surprisingly a nightmare also (but I can't fault the manufacturer for that so I'm giving it a rating based on only the RMA needs themselves). That said, Acer definitely seems to have a huge issue with QA testing before sending models out but in general once you manage to get a fully functional model, it is a pretty good product

1 out of 5 eggsDefective twice so far

Pros: Seems like it would be good quality if I could actually get a functioning example

Cons: I've had to RMA this twice now. The first one arrived with a large scratch of some kind on an inner lens so there was a large black blur in the middle of the screen and when focused on, it was a large visible black scratch (not dead pixels). This second one arrived with a faulty fan (same issue as one of the other customers) - after a few minutes of being on it generates the "Fan Fail" message before powering off. It's incredibly frustrating to receive a defective version twice in a row (clearly they do not quality test these) but I'm going to give this model 1 more shot before demanding a refund.

Other Thoughts: Acer really needs to start doing quality control on their products. I have to RMA Acer products a lot but this is the first time I've ever had to RMA an item of any brand twice.

Pros: Seems great for the price, if it worked?

Cons: System fan is defective, automatically shuts off after a few minutes of operating.

Other Thoughts: Hope to get a quick replacement.

2 out of 5 eggsWas great at first

Pros: 1080p

Cons: I've used this projector probably once a week for the last four months. It worked great and I loved everything about it. All of a sudden the projector flickers like crazy. I probably see every 1 in 30 frames displayed. Completely useless now. It's like watching a strobe light go on and off. I'm trying to RMA through Acer, but I'm finding out their warrenty process is a joke. Half of the links produce a 404 page. This model number isn't even in their dropdown list for selecting your model of projector.

5 out of 5 eggsNice projector

Pros: Trying to decide on this P1500 Projector or go for the other Acer 5610BD. I read a review where these two projectors were basically the same quality except the 5610 has more ports and a quick 3d button and 2d to 3d conversion. I decided to go with this projector for the 3 yr warranty. Too expensive not to have a warranty. Going through the menu was not hard to put this in 3d mode. I used my 3d blu-ray player and the quality is amazing. If you have a letterbox movie, change the aspect ratio (or maybe its another setting) to letterbox. It will fill up the screen. I watched Gravity and changed that setting part way through and wow is all I can say about it. This projector only has one hdmi but I am fine with that. The 3yr warranty was the deciding factor. Roughly 9.5 ft away gave me around 100" screen. So far, I have no complaints. It was extremely easy to set up. I am using no screen, just a tan wall and it looks fantastic.

Cons: Only owned this for one day but I plan on giving it a workout over the weekend. Ordered this on a Thursday and received it on Friday. I do not hear any noise from the fan and I run it on eco mode. Just a slight change from eco to normail mode.

Other Thoughts: I bought 3d DLP glasses a week before I bought the projector. Glad I did so I didn't have to wait on them.

5 out of 5 eggsBright and sharp

Pros: Works well and has a built in speaker. The fan is fairly quiet. I see no rainbow effect yet. Perfect unit for big projection screen. The case is very cheap but I won't be using it much anyway.

Cons: None yet

5 out of 5 eggsGreat value, high quality, small footprint

Pros: For 1920x1080 resolution, one of the lightest and most economical models available. Works as advertised. Nice and bright, sharp picture. Easy setup. Better quality than expected for price.

Cons: Minor con: The tabletop height adjustment is done via twisting. Not spring loaded like other projectors. Slows setup slightly. The carrying case included has limited padding.

Other Thoughts: I was skeptical buying this projector but I'm very happy that I did. The quality is better than I had expected. I travel and do software demonstrations all the time. So far, this has been a great projector. Small and light, the casing is plastic but more sturdy than I had expected. Noise level is low. Picture quality is very good. While it doesn't have all of the bells and whistles that other projectors have, it has everything I need to either connect via HDMI or VGA.
