In a few reviews, I have read that the monitor comes with the wrong base. Before ordering, I just want to make sure that the base is correct. Has this issue been fixed?

The base was fine for me. It slides off a bif too easily, but it is correct and does itd job well. Im satisfied with it.

Does the Acer 20" monitor have internal speakers?

No it does not, I've had mine since Christmas 2013, and i've loved it. I PC game, and it looks fantastic, especially for the price.

will this monitor connect to my laptop via usb?

No.  This monitor does not have a USB connection.  It only has one DVI and one VGA connection.  Most computers\laptops cannot transmit video signals to any monitor through a USB connection.  Even monitors with USB ports are not for connecting a video signal - they are just to expand the number of USB ports available for you to use for other devices.

Connecting a computer to any monitor must be done through a video output connection on the computer (which is generally HDMI, DVI, or VGA).  Most laptops have this capability, but some lower end laptops
etbooks do not support connecting to external monitors at all.  Many laptops have a special video connector cable (depending on the laptop manufacturer) that you need to purchase in order to attach your computer to a monitor.  Good luck.

I am looking to buy 2 of these monitors to plug into the back of my laptop's docking station which has (1) D-sub connection and (1) DVI connection. Would this scenario work as a dual monitor setup?  Its just that I've never used multiple different connection types before like this.  Thanks!

Yes it would work. These are very good monitors and would great in a dual monitor scenario.

Question 7

What is the voltage and amperage required by the monitor (not the power adapter).  Looking at the image that shows the rear of the monitor where the power ratings are located I cannot make out the numbers.  It looks like (12 or 18 or 19)V (1.58 or 1.58)A.  What are the numbers exactly?

yeah mine came with both but Anthony is right read the description one more time, and be careful with tilting the screen up and down I broke the two lips in the back at help keep the screen on the stand, oops.
