3 out of 5 eggsHorrible Audio, 60Hz refresh

Pros: Price. So far they look OK.

Cons: Speakers are worthless; No control of audio source.

Other Thoughts: This is an addendum to my original review here

After living with these a couple weeks I'm still fairly pleased with what I got for the price I paid - but wish I had paid a little more for something more capable.

I do now have a couple dead pixels on each.

These offer 59 and 60Hz refresh - rather abysmal in this class of monitor (others offering up to 90)

My largest issue remains the audio - it really is worthless. There's no amplification, so my guess is I'm listening to a couple of $2 passive 2" full range drivers. The sound they produce is not only unpleasant - it's downright grating.

Further - you have no control over the audio source - if you plug in a DisplayPort cable you cannot have another source on the 3.5mm input and expect to be able to use it. I am assuming it will be the same for HDMI, with the DVI port being the only option that will get you audio via the jack.

These are still OK "on sale" - at "normally discounted" retail I'd keep looking. You can do better.

5 out of 5 eggsGlad I bought this

Pros: Excellent color quality
No dead pixels
Reasonable stand
VESA mountable
Controls are simple and usable
Solid build quality
Came with cables
Minimal backlight bleed
Good viewing angles
Not glossy
$299 on sale

Cons: As mentioned by most, speakers are pointless
I'd like a taller stand but I get that shorter ones are more stable. Put it up on something or use a mount.
Painfully bright by default but not difficult to adjust to a reasonable level.

Other Thoughts: I agonized over which monitor to buy. Was thinking of dual or triple setup or maybe very wide aspect. I'm very glad I went with a 1440 panel. It's excellent for productivity (no zooming out for spreadsheets) and games look fantastic.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent but not spectacular

Pros: Pictures and contrast is good. I also got it on a discounted price so price was good as well during that time.

Cons: There is a very noticeable backlight bleeding on the bottom right corner of the screen. Very annoying when its displaying black. I.e during bootup and during movies when than part on the screen is displaying black.

Other Thoughts: You may have to bring down the brightness all the way down. I have mine on 40/100

5 out of 5 eggsAwesomeness!

Pros: Super Sharp! Super Accurate in colors!
I am a 3D animator I have to be very particular about clarity, colors & detail! This monitor blew me away!
I was a little unsure first and was contemplating Dell Ultrasharp... I am glad I went with this!!

Cons: Cheap sound... but who uses monitor speakers anyways!

4 out of 5 eggsWorth the price

Pros: Size! I couldn't fit two 24inch monitors on my desk, so this was the next best thing. The resolution is excellent and seeing it in action playing Elderscrolls Online makes me drool a little. Comes with all the connection cords you would need. Like others have said; don't bother with plugging the audio unless that's all you have.

Cons: Navigation menu is a chore. Real pain if you are not used to messing with monitor settings. It was enough for me to take an egg off. Be prepared to tweak the color and brightness a little.

Other Thoughts: Would of been nice if it had a better response rate, but I haven't seen any issues with games since I usually have v-sync on anyhow. I am using 2 R9 290's Crossfire and it looks great! Good buy if you don't want to shell out the big bucks for a 4k.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat picture

Pros: Great workstation monitor for coding and graphics work. Lots of pixels, lots of space, very bright and sharp picture. Color is well calibrated out of the box with the monitor's "graphics" preset (the "standard" preset is a little reddish to my eye). It's an IPS display so no color shifting at different view angles.

The monitor has tons of inputs and supports side-by-side and picture-in-picture modes too, if that's your thing.

Cons: Mine does have one dead pixel right in the middle. Not worth returning it over that. Honestly, the pixels are so small that I don't really see the dead one unless I'm specifically looking for it.

Other Thoughts: Picked it up for $300 on Black Friday, but still a good deal at $400 imo.

3 out of 5 eggsAwesome - unless you like audio

Pros: Cost. Appearance. Weight. ZERO dead pixels on 2 units. Would recommend.

Cons: Speakers are LAUGHABLY bad.

Other Thoughts: Bought two of these - and honestly would have rated them a solid four if not for the absolutely abysmal speaker(s?) in this thing.

Two units using Display Port. One portrait, one landscape. The color and brightness are great edge-to-edge. Nice sharp images and text (rather critical at these resolutions). Color is as true as an uncalibrated LCD can be. Can't say much for the response time as I'm not a gamer - but videos look great.

Win7 detected and prompted for correct resolution w/o issue.

I saw a few reviews stating that the menus were hard to navigate. They are dead simple - took me < 2 minutes to figure them out without looking at the included start guide - and I'm old.

BUT ermahgerd these speakers (or speaker? I can't even tell if it's stereo). If you are old enough to remember "genuine IBM" PCs and trying to use a buzzer as a speaker - that's what these sound like. It's literally SO BAD that I think Acer hurt themselves including them as a feature. They are complete junk. The unit I am working on now has actually STOPPED producing sound altogether - so that's awesome (validated it not the source by trying to play from my DMP)

So - in short - this is a GREAT monitor IMO (especially for the sale price it pops up at) - but just know that you won't be ditching your desktop speakers for the units in this monitor.

4 out of 5 eggsBeautiful monitor

Pros: Very good for what you get. Bought around Black Friday for a great price. I had been waiting for a good price on a monitor that I didn't have to have shipped from China, and this fit the bill. Colors are amazing, no dead pixels on mine, hooked up to DVI and my graphics card recognized it immediately, set up was a breeze. I can't comment on the speakers because I don't use them, don't need to. I haven't had an opportunity to game on it, but I don't game as much anymore.

Cons: For those that do game a lot, especially FPS the response time might cause some ghosting. Out of the box in a dark room I noticed major back light bleed, but once I turned down the back light from an eye searing 100 to 50 that problem went away. The stand isn't great, but it's not terrible as some have suggested. No, this monitor is not perfection, but for 275 it's very nice.

Other Thoughts: Newegg free delivery was super fast, as always. Thanks!

4 out of 5 eggsAlmost completly love it!

Pros: Big, bright, beautiful monitor! No dead pixels. I'm very happy with it overall.

Cons: I think I may have a bad DP cable from what I've researched. I've tried the port on my MB and the port on the video card, but the monitor still says cable not connected. I'm hoping the port on the monitor isn't bad; would hate to have to switch out monitors. Going to buy a cable and hope for the best.

5 out of 5 eggsCant beat if for the money

Pros: Picked this up @ 299.99 already had a sluggish 1080p 27".
1440p is noticeable for PC gaming. Great Buy. I am glad this game with the base removed (which is a quick release) I mounted my existing setup.

Cons: not 4k :( not that my video cards could handle that.

Other Thoughts: Despite other reviews I have tested this monitor and found no dead pixels. good quality product
