5 out of 5 eggsWow...

Pros: It looks great at 2560x1440, very crisp. I had a slight problem (in Other thoughts section) and had to set it to1920x1080 sometimes, which looked pretty bad after the higher resolution.

Cons: None, just make sure your computer can handle the 2560x1440 resolution. If not, I would NOT recommend buying this monitor.

Other Thoughts: At 2560x1440 I was getting a blue flickering line on the bottom of the screen and areas of blue flickering speckles occasionally (in Win7 AND Linux Mint 17.1). I built a system using an inexpensive AMD cpu (A6-5400K), which along with the mobo can theoretically handle 2560 using DVI, but not HDMI, VGA or DisplayPort. I figured the monitor was fine but that my system was just barely good enough for the higher resolution so I got an inexpensive video problem now. Make sure your system can handle 2560x1440.

120GB Silicon Power SDD
HIS Radeon HD 7750 1GB GDDR5

5 out of 5 eggsVery good monitor

Pros: -This monitor is nice
-Very good price even at 399.99, i got it for 299.99
-No backlight bleed what so ever
-Real nice color only had to tweak the red a little out of the box
-Real sharp/nice image
-1440p res
-Claims IPS.. looks just like an ips, AHVA maybe but I can't tell the difference, i compared this next to a 1440p ips and this one looked better.
-For gamers this is a must! no ghosting, no tearing, even beautiful playing FPS like CS:Go and Arma III, no lag.. some one complained out this, but maybe they got a bad monitor.. i tested it extensively for gaming and its just as good as my old 2ms TN, if not better.

Cons: -Small hair or scratch under the screen on bottom right, but I don't notice it, besides that i got a good screen.
-not 144hz
-not Gsync

Other Thoughts: Got this paired with a 980 ti, they run well together.. lots of power for 1440p res in the most demanding games. Falling in love with this monitor, who needs girlfriend these days?

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Value Monitor

Pros: Hi Resolution monitor with plenty of screen area for work space. Works great for gaming.

No dead pixels or blemishes

Cons: There is a fair amount of back light bleed-through, although it is only noticed during the BIOS post screen.

Monitor stand is very basic, but I can't complain too much for a monitor in this price range.

Other Thoughts: Had an issue with the first one I received as it was blemished and has a large defect on the screen. NewEgg was very responsive and replaced it at no cost to me.

4 out of 5 eggsWould be better without speakers

Pros: Beautiful display at a good price I'm not a display fiend, but I'm glad to have finally moved beyond the "HD" 1080p etc resolutions I was stuck at and back past resolutions I had when I owned CRT monitors.

If there's a dead pixel on this screen, I haven't found it.

Cons: The built-in speakers are truly, truly awful. I am the sort of person who happily uses earbuds, cheap headphones, built-in laptop speakers, etc. These speakers are completely tinny, quiet, and unusable, and the sole reason I knock off an egg.

Seriously, I bought this to replace a TV-mostly-used-with-a-media-PC, chose this monitor because of its price, features, AND BUILT IN SPEAKERS, and ended up running out the day after receiving it to get $20 Logitech speakers to use with the monitor.

Other Thoughts: There is a "detect video" option in the monitor settings. Do not turn it on: if it thinks it detects video on the screen, it leaves that in color and grayscales everything else. I don't know why that's something someone thought was a good idea. I found it quite odd.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor at this price.

Pros: Price, price, price. Beautiful picture.

Cons: No height adjustment.

Other Thoughts: I got it to replace my seven yr old Sceptre 24 inch monitor.
With the $50 off promo, it's a great deal. I love having the extra real estate and not seeing the pixels at all.

I did not buy it for gaming or high end graphics work. Just regular duty use (Microsoft office apps, surfing, email, video streaming, etc).
I also don't use the speakers which are reportedly pretty bad.

PS: I'm running it on integrated intel HD4600 graphics without any problems (I'm sure it would suck for gaming).
The only snag I had was that I'd read that I have to use DVI-D to get the full resolution. With DVI-D, I could only get 1080p so I futzed around for a while trying to get it to work. Then I tried HDMI and it worked without any issues.

Also, kudos to Newegg for their usual hyper-efficiency. I ordered it around noon and it arrived in my house in Western Mass less than 24 hours later (that's with standard 4-7 day shipping).

4 out of 5 eggsIMPORTANT NEWS ON K272HUL

Pros: Awesome picture quality....lived up to very good tech reviews....pixel density perfect for a 27" screen....will run at 60fps at full resolution no problem like 4K and LOOKS like 4K because of the awesome pixel density. Be aware to get the full resolution, you MUST be connected either using HDMI 1.4 or better,or, "display port", ( which can also be called "thunderbolt" using a mini-display port connector ). The other, older types of connection do NOT have the necessary bandwidth to provide the full resolution.

Cons: You MUST enter the settings on the monitor and TURN OFF the "video detect" setting,or, the screen will turn GRAYSCALE while in use !!! I was STUMPED...problem existed using HDMI 1.4 or Thunderbolt, ( i.e. "mini display port" ), connection and with current NVidia driver. I found the solution on a little known website and NOWHERE ELSE, including Acer...they should be NOTIFIED and buyers should be WARNED !!! Once "fixed", monitor is AWEWSOME and a great value.

Other Thoughts: I love this monitor....especially the pixel density being perfect for 27 inches....viewing 1440p video ,or, upscaled 1080p is amazing !!

I want to buy another and probably will !!

5 out of 5 eggsBetter Than I had Hoped!

Pros: -The color calibration out of the Box was almost perfect, I couldn't even tell the difference after calibration.
-Very sharp details, Low latency, Vibrant colors and viewing angles
-NO back light bleeding at all
-NO Dead pixels

Cons: - None so far,
-didn't come with an HDMI cable but it had everything else. Not a big deal since I have extras and will be using it over the DisplayPort cable anyway.

Other Thoughts: My AMD Radeon HD 6970m ran the monitor better than I had hoped. I personally didnt think I would.
I managed 36-60fps in Diablo 3 on high settings (AA on, but no shadows) and 25 FPS in Shadow of Mordor on Medium. (MSAA no blur)
I bought this for my dad to edit professional photos, with his GTX 970. I think he will be rather Pleased

1 out of 5 eggsonly meets resolution spec with DVI

Pros: With a dual-link DVI connection is looks nice. I got it on sale (from worstbuy, 350), so at the time the price was good.

Cons: display port and HDMI connections are limited to 1920 x 1080p at 50Hz and 1920 x 1080i at 60Hz. search acer support for K272HUL. I returned it for this reason alone.

Other Thoughts: I use macs - the pixelation that BennyVancouver saw is because the monitor will show the screen at 2560x1440, but looks bad, as if the cable was bad, in the old VGA days. To get display port, I could have gotten "Accell B087B-003J Mini DisplayPort to DVI Dual-Link Adapter" for about 140 - total solution cost of about 510. I got a "BenQ GW2765HT" instead. Currently 480 on newegg! faster, better, displayport works! HDMI input wasn't automatically detected, but on manual selection it connected, and was great.

5 out of 5 eggsAcer 1440p

Pros: AH-VA Panel is very nice and crisp, good color, good response times, good viewing angles, etc.

Settings menu is easy to navigate and works well, brightness can be turned down quite low, and vice-versa.

Cheap, I bought on sale for $300 during Christmas sales.

Arrived in good condition; no scratches, good packing, no dead pixels, no issues what so ever.

Cons: None so far with the monitor, I've had good luck with Acer products.

Windows 7 scaling took a little while to get use to, and I had to up my browser scaling a bit in order to read some things.

Windows 8 scaling is much better than Windows 7 imo.

However, these are not things that are wrong with the monitor. Just be warned that your software might take a little adjusting.

Other Thoughts: I really enjoyed upgrading to 1440p. AH-VA panels are very nice in regards to both response time and color reproduction / viewing angle.

Good for gaming, media consumption, work and whatever else most people would probably throw at a 1440p monitor.
