5 out of 5 eggslove this monitor

Pros: I was very hesitant to get a TN monitor, since my last monitor was an IPS (Dell 2209WA). I don't know if it's because this is an 8-bit panel, or just a very good TN, but I have no regrets, it looks great. Text is very good at 27in @ 1080p, not superb, but still good. G-sync + 144hz makes BF4 ultra smooth, a really enjoyable experience (when you're not getting pwned because your team is asleep but that's true with any setup). Skyrim is awesome and smooth with g-sync as well (though I did make a script to switch the monitor to 100hz mode when I launch the game because of physics bugs in skyrim at high fps). Fiddled with the settings until I got it just the way I like, settled for 'graphics mode' because I light bright and colorful. Had 0 issues with every feature of this monitor, g-sync + 144hz worked immediately and every time. Using 344.48 nvidia drivers. Had 0 dead pixels, and no other screen related issues.

Cons: Only real con, is that being a TN panel, the colors shift slightly when I do things like lean back in my chair due to the viewing angle issues of TN panels. The ultra smooth gaming more than makes up for it, and it only took a few days before I stopped noticing the shifting really.

Other Thoughts: I think this monitor was definitely worth it, and I got it at $599. I really only play BF4, but it's unbelievably smooth, eventually you just stop noticing screen issues (tearing, stuttering, etc.) which distracted me often before, and it just becomes normal since it's what you would expect if you weren't a monitor scientist that knew all about monitor limitations. The whole package, the flawless monitor, great colors, g-sync, 144hz is just great. I can't compliment acer enough for this monitor.

4 out of 5 eggsUpdated review...

Pros: Should have waited to review it>

Cons: G-Sync does in fact cause some issues on this monitor. I have since reverted the display to 120hz and ULMB. 144hz and G-sync enabled twice in the NVidia control panel, and by twice I mean in both spots, with the 337.50 driver causes black screens when in games and during some boot ups. I know the driver is older and will assume this issue will be fixed later. Moving to other thoughts to continue....

Other Thoughts: I did not switch the driver since BF4 plays the best, to me, with this driver. I did try the newest one, 344.11 and BF4 had draw issues with the ground, colors over head and random stutter. I did uninstall the original driver prior to installing the screen. Also...Splinter Black Cell does have a refresh rate higher than 60hz, once I installed the 344.11 driver, it popped up, I was informed to try it with the newer driver. The screen has since been running fine and is looking beautiful with other games I've had a chance to try. I still recommend this display but from the looks of the reviews, fellow gamers are not swallowing this monitor and are waiting for others or the ROG Swift!

5 out of 5 eggsH.O.L.Y!! WOW!!

Pros: Received in one day with the free shipping option.

Huge size, makes BF4 players much bigger, first time I fired up the game, I said H.O.L.Y!! WOW!!

Connected right up, no Windows 7 64bit issues to speak of.

On Sale, $539.00 free ship, no tax!

Screen is absolutely beautiful and naysayers are selling you and almost me,hype that 1080P @ 27" is no good. At $600.00 this monitor is definitely worth the price.

Take it from me, the pickiest person on the planet to please, this display is awesomeness wrapped in wow'ness!! <-- made up word

Cons: Some games do not support higher refresh rates, Splinter Cell Black List is the only one I've checked besides BF4 and I can not change it from 60hz. I will Google it though and see if there's a fix.

Other Thoughts: This monitor is being passed by, by the masses do to the 1080P stigma. I know you guys find it hard to trust reviewers now a days, with all the nonsense game release pre-reviews that come out but you are sadly mistaken if you think for a moment that the PPI has anything to do with this monitor showing a terrible picture. I'm a verified buyer and I'm telling you, you will love this monitor and learn to appreciate 1080p in all its glory since, as the screen size increases, so does the clarity!
On a side note, I was like many of you guys out there, reading review after review for the best monitor. This is what I came across. First, players wanted 1920 by 1200, while we were at 1920 by 1080 for sometime, then 2560 by 1440 showed up and gamers wanted 2560 by 1600. These guys never made up there minds and it was confusing the day lights out of me since I value fellow PC enthusiasts'. Finally, I said, I know and like 1080P, so I will give this ACER a shot, oh brother, I'm so glad I did. My video card is pumping 170-130 FGPS and I'm seeing them all with G-sync and the 144hz. I highly recommend this monitor, especially at the sale price.

Good luck with what ever display you guys upgrade too and if it's the ROG swift, may the "out of rage" bug not rain on your parade.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitor, Great Value

Pros: I grabbed this monitor to test out before my Asus ROG Swift came in. I had planned to test it out, send it back - but I ended up liking the monitor so much I am keeping it.

Heard many complaints about 1080 at 27in, havent really been bothered. I was using a 16x10 2560x1600 IPS monitor prior to using the Acer - obviously the resolution decrease is noticeable, but it has not distracted from my enjoyment from the monitor one bit.

G-Sync is a great tech, and will be a standard in the near-future (once you use it, it's impossible to go back), and I would recommend this monitor to anyone.

I am glad I grabbed the monitor - it is quality.

Cons: The only con is the lack of an indicator light to tell that g-sync is active.

It was automatically enable for my first boot, which was great. I didnt have to do anything except change the refresh rate within windows.

Other Thoughts: If you are on the fence, take the plunge and enjoy.

5 out of 5 eggsBest i have ever seen from Acer

Pros: Solid monitor . Just have to adjust it to your liking out of the box settings are all over the place for my needs anyways . Was using a Dell u3011 and running a new 980 to push the 2k res . What i lost in size i gain in performance and quality . Never new gaming in 144hz was so awesome and smooth , and add g sync into the mix is just wow. Would have got the Asus Swift and a second 980 but neither have been in stock since there release . This way my single 980 pushes my new monitor just fine at max settings and if i want i can run 3 of these bad boys in the future . 1080p look awesome on 27" .

Cons: Short Cables , i have a big desk and if i ever run 3 of these i will have to move around things . Just one input . I love that its a display port but a hdmi would have been nice for my ps4.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Nice Monitor

Pros: Gsync works great Colors are splendid no issues with this monitor at rated refresh rate (144hz).

Cons: High price Probably about 100 dollars more than what it should be.... but honestly if you want a really nice gsync monitor you can push with one gtx 780 or better card at ultra settings this monitor can do that for you.

Other Thoughts: People saying 1080p doesnt look good on 27 inch are wrong

5 out of 5 eggsWhat I Hoped For

Pros: G Sync is the real deal. This is the next gen in monitor technology. With the crazy price of this monitor it better had been or else I would have returned it. LoL But the 144FPS G Sync is just crazy. No V Sync, no tearing, no stutter, clean controls, amazing. Colors and brightness much better than my last monitor but that would depend on what you had.

Cons: Price, jeez 600 too much for a 1080p monitor. Would have been nice had it had HDMI inputs and speakers for 600 dollars so you could hook up your consoles too.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: The colours are amazing for a TN panel, which is expected as it is an 8 bit panel. 144Hz is excellent for games and G-Sync is absolutely amazing. I love that I can play games that are running at 30-40 fps and still feel incredibly smooth. Height adjustment is awesome, so is the pivot and tilt. The USB 3.0 ports work well on the sides of the monitor too.

Cons: Viewing angles aren't the best but it is a TN panel so you know what you are buying.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat G-Sync Monitor!

Pros: Nvidia G-Sync works as advertised
144Hz Refresh rate
No dead pixels or "out of sync" messages
Well made
8-bit TN Panel which makes for good viewing angles and great color reproduction (yes, I know it is a TN panel but it is a very good one!).
Color reproduction is good pretty much out of the box (did I mention that already?).

Cons: Bezel is a fingerprint/dust magnet and shinny black (not bad but just putting it out there)
ULMB cuts usually brightness in half. It is playable for me but may be too dark for others.

Other Thoughts: Great purchase for this fairly new Nvidia tech. You wont be disappointed with this Acer monitor!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Huge difference from my 60hz monitor. Games are soo smooth now and look more detailed.
-Quality Design
-Not a single defect (pixels, bleed, or screen door effect)
-Excellent picture (vibrant colors and contrast)

Cons: price went up $100.

Other Thoughts: I was on the fence about this monitor. In fact, I did purchase an ASUS pg278g and had it for a week. Soo many people had issues with it, like bleed, out of range errors, and dead pixels. My issue was the annoying ScreenDoor effect. Asus really f'd up on that roll out. I returned mine ASAP.
I don't mind 1080p since I run a single 780gtx. I really didnt want to run SLI with two expensive cards anyway.
This monitor is perfect for Single card setup!
