5 out of 5 eggsUpdate: Great bang for the buck home projector

Pros: Everyone that sees the picture from this projector is absolutely amazed. Two of our friends also bought one from Newegg after they visited us. I especially enjoyed the reaction from my friend that had already dropped $4k-plus on a plasma - he couldn't believe the size and clarity of the picture. It also blows away the picture on my sister-inlaw's 60" Panasonic DLP.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: The first thing people say when they see the picture is "It's so clear!". And then they repeat that, usually several times. Then they walk up and touch the wall it is projected on, with a look of awe and disbelief on their faces... I do not have an expensive screen - I project on a very smooth sheetrock wall painted with several layers of flat white paint with a little (10-20%)gloss white mixed in. I also have not tweaked the picture (yet) using the special DVDs made for that purpose. It still blows me (and everyone else) away.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic, especially for the $

Pros: For my needs, the picture is truly great. The 16:9 native resolution in perfect for movies and HD channels. Worth every penny for the price (and I paid a lot more than it currently is listed for).

Cons: Not great with a lot of outside light. You have to manually switch between input types with your remote.

Other Thoughts: This is just a fantastic projector. I just watched my first NFL pre-season game with my projector, and was blown away by the picture quality, and, of course, size!
See epinions.com for the best reviews I found on this projector.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty good entry level Home Theatre

Pros: Its fairly nice for the price. Elegant and quiet when its not getting cooled off. Comes decently adjusted out of the box but could require extra color adjustments. Tons of cables included, and the remote IS illuminated (red). Was able to achive 1024 x 720ish resolution, using GeForce 6600.

Cons: DVI sometimes doesnt work with my Video Card (strange PC issues). Xbox1 flickers a little with the svideo cable but its playable. Also for some reason DVI wasnt as good quality compared to the YPbPr. 720p seams the best for this, 1080i flickers for me.

Other Thoughts: I wish this had 1080p capability for the upcoming Playstation 3.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Awesome value for price. You'll find nothing better in this price range. The picture is stunning for this price range. Zero rainbow effect for me and I'm sensitive to screen flicker, etc. Mine is set up about 12' from the wall with about half zoom. Wonderful. Can't hear the fan unless I really listen for it. Your forced air heater, AC, or PC fan will be louder.

Cons: Benq should have back lit the remote (dunh, you use it in the dark). Not a show stopper, you only hit a few buttons during the first part of viewing and you can stand up and hold it in the light of the projector if necessary.

Other Thoughts: You'll want at least 1.5 gain on the screen. Mine's home made and works well though I'm still experimenting. You'll need good light control, this will not work well with much ambient light. Be ready to wait 30 seconds or so after hitting the ON button. I hear that's not unusual but this was my first projector and I didn't know.

I don't know if it's supposed to find it's source input automatically or not but it doesn't and you have to manually select it on the remote. Pretty straight forward though. One button per source.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat bang for the buck home projector

Pros: Excellent picture, great price, easy set up, well-configured for home theater use.

Cons: A bit heavy, not true HD

Other Thoughts: I bought this for the World Cup and have just been blown away by the picture. Best $xxx I ever spent. Light control is important, but anymore so than for most other projectors. A good screen is nice, but a white wall works, too.

5 out of 5 eggsIncredible Projector for TV not PC

Pros: Film like quality with some adjustments at an amazing price. Look up the retail on this one and you will see. 5x color wheel reduces rainbows almost completly. Even HD looks incredible.

Cons: Low output, might need a higher gain screen. 1.5 gain works for me. Light control in your room a must.

Might be dificult to get your PC to match the native resolution of this projector.

Other Thoughts: For 480p you need use the BNC adapters included.
