3 out of 5 eggsBad Bulb

Pros: Nice picture, I can't discern any rainbow effect. (Though I am not sensitive to it.)
Adjusts and scales screen for inputs it's receiving.
Excellently featured remote, including quick 1 button access to all other sources.
Short throw.

Cons: Only vertical keystone adjustment is available.
Lamp/Bulb went after 394 hours in economy mode. (over an 11- month course). Extremely disappointed with this. I do not want to spend ~$200 for every 400 hours on this thing. If this next bulb goes this fast I will be done with BenQ.

Other Thoughts: Nice projector for the price, but if low quality lamps turn out to be commonplace, I am done with anything BenQ related.

5 out of 5 eggsvery impressed

Pros: bright - usable in a room with a 60 cfl.
huge screen in a short distance
3d works well - dlp link using cheap sainsonic glasses and stereoscopic player
low noise
has an audio out
great price ($550 on sale)

Cons: maybe should have gotten 2 instead of this and a k330.

Other Thoughts: i only have 3 other pjs to compare it to so my review is limited by my short experience with pjs. the others i've had are mg-50, qumi q2 and the k330. the w710st surely puts all these to shame. at 7 feet i'm throwing a 134" diag screen on the wall (waiting to find where my wife wants the screen placed). even at 11' none of the others match that size nor the brightness even in eco mode. i've read that short throw pjs have a lower quality image than standard throw, so i expect to be pretty darn impressed if i ever switched because the image is beautiful even on a tan wall.

5 out of 5 eggsOutstanding buy

Pros: I bought this projector to replace my very aging TOSHIBA TDP-T45U 1024 x 768 DLP Projector and let me tell you this one was a serious upgrade! The picture is phenomenal, crystal clear and HUGE. I'm projecting onto my white wall, the picture is 137" (diagonal) with the projector 9' away from the wall and the image is amazing even with a lit room. The menu options are easy to maneuver through, for the price this is a steal!

Cons: The only con I have is that I placed my order with next day shipment but got it four days later..., maybe I should have ordered it earlier in the day (I placed my order at 7pm), so this may have been my fault.

Other Thoughts: Great buy, get it, enjoy it and order before 7pm if you are shipping it next day air! :)

5 out of 5 eggsso far so good

Pros: Easy to set up, quiet fan, quick cool down, great image, handles xbox 360, and HD movies with no issues so far

Cons: I purchased this knowing it's not as bright as others. I have a dungeon that it's set up in. Day or night makes no difference. Don't expect great performance with ambient light

Other Thoughts: Not a tech guy at all, but I do enjoy a great movie. For a budget projector this can't be beat. I can't comment if it will stand the test of time, but out of the box it's impressive. I cannot comment on 3D as I have no computer capable of playing it. I have not noticed the "rainbow effect" but then again - i've never owned a projector and don't know what to look for. It seems to handle gaming just fine, and operates like my Samsung LCD 50 inch that it replaced. I built a DIY screen for 30 dollars, using blackout cloth wrapped around luan board and framed it with black molding. built it in 20 minutes. Definitely better ways to do it, but I didn't research it much, just wanted a temp screen to project onto since I don't have any smooth walls.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat bang for the buck.

Pros: Price, brightness, picture, inputs, short throw!

Cons: Sound quality... of course, but it does have a speaker.

Other Thoughts: Having used only a few other projectors I am no expert, but for the money, this projector gives a very bright, vivid picture even in modestly lit rooms. Of course it is much better in total darkness. It is however too bright at times washing blacks out. But for the price, I don't think it can be beat!

4 out of 5 eggs160" diagonal goodness

Pros: This projector is about 11 feet from the wall. The picture is excellent and all but 2 feet cover the entire wall it's pointed at. It's almost too large, but "too large" is easier to fix than than "too small"

The short throw gives you almost twice the screen size. In my case, I could have gone with a regular projector, but I would gain 40-60" with this one. Now, you say, 160 - 60 = 100, which isn't 50%, and you would be correct. However, this is because the short-throw projector would max out the wall before it hit the double diagonal size

Cons: 1. It's 720p
2. I was seeing rainbow effects
3. Some things felt very weird, like video games. They felt incredibly surreal.
4. At huge sizes, your SD content's artifacts would show up a lot easier (not the projector's fault)

Other Thoughts: It has been excellent for movies. I'm not even shooting it at a screen: just a wall with white paint. It feels like I'm at a theater, especially at night.

The price plus the short-throw were the curveballs that made me get this over a more expensive projector. Also, the projector has the advantage of being portable. I don't know if I'll get used to the rainbow effects, or if I'm seeing them if I'm tired. But still, I'll at least use it for occasional movie watching.

For gaming, I'm not sure. I played games from Missile Command to Crysis. It was surreal seeing Mario the size of a small cat. It also feel very strange.

After playing with this, I found myself quite satisfied with the resolution. It's not 1080p, but the picture was so good that I didn't care that it's not.

5 out of 5 eggsAWESOME

Pros: I love this thing. I use it for movies and mostly doubles FIFA gaming almost any time of day and it always looks great. This was a well recommended product as it should be.

Cons: I can't figure out how to get it to fully fit the screen seamlessly, but I'm getting closer every day. Not worth losing a WHOLE EGG!

Other Thoughts: I'm really glad I don't hear Lady GaGa as much anymore.
