5 out of 5 eggsHidden Gems

Pros: 120hz
Great color range
Bright and Clear with super smooth rendering
Easy to set up and take off of stand
Awesome contrast ratios

Cons: None, you get what you pay for

Other Thoughts: After reading the reviews and testing it on my system I have found that the out of box setting are actually really awesome except the color range and contrast ratios are higher and better than on my RL series benq. But it's easy to adjust to get it close enough. I don't understand any of the complaints, a lot of monitors with the same specs cost just as much if not more. An Asus is almost 50 to 100 dollars more and I honestly don't think they look anywhere near as good. People taking eggs off for out of box rgb settings are too picky and just want to find a reason to complain.

5 out of 5 eggsWow

Pros: Quick, fast, beautiful.

Cons: None really.

Other Thoughts: I was nervous when I bought these, given that I bought 3 for an Nvidia surround setup and the money I spent. Reviews about colors being off were either false, people didn't adjust the out of box color settings, or my eyes just don't see it. These monitors are beautiful, and look sleek and classy.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: 90* Tilt
Height adjustment
Save preset video settings
*No buttons!*

Cons: 1920x1080 max resolution :(

Other Thoughts: All around great monitor, I'm getting ready to buy another for a dual display setup.
The base of the monitor comes forward quite a bit though, and is something to consider if you're tight on space.
Colors are very good after some small adjustments, and navigating the menu to make those adjustments is a breeze.
There's no buttons on the monitor! The "buttons" are small LED's recessed into the monitor that illuminate when you bring your hand up near them, and detect when you've covered them with your finger. It's very sleek, and perfectly functional. You can also fully navigate the menus with the included (but optional) controller, which allows you to switch between 3 different preset video settings on the fly. I keep it attached, but use it rarely.
Response time is great, nice deep blacks and rich colors where you want them; and I haven't noticed any color fading, or burning in the year that I've used it daily.

Overall, this is a monitor I would HIGHLY recommend for a gamer like myself. If only the resolution could go higher than 1920x1080 I'd consider this my perfect monitor.

5 out of 5 eggsNO BUYERS REMORSE

Pros: This monitor is great... After I ordered it I read some of the negative reviews and was concerned, and felt stupid paying so much for a monitor. Now that I have it WOW its great! Make a few adjustments t oget the color to your liking, but for me, Its perfect right out of the box.

Cons: Cost is still a bit high.

Other Thoughts: Dont hesitate, you wont regret this purchase.

5 out of 5 eggsGaming monitor

Pros: Best gaming first person shooter monitor ever. So smooth that is what we want. Love the buttons for the settings wow so easy. If you are playing games and its dark on the this monitor you can push a button to turn up the contrast; Its to bright out because you are playing in the sun push a button and turn down the contrast. Being able to adjust the settings like that will give you an advantage in any first person shooter. This is for FPS so you can not complain about your Facebook looking good lol I use this monitor for only BF3 and it looks amazing.

Cons: Opening the box is dangers if you open it form the bottom you could scratch the monitor because of packaging. Like everyone else said the color was horrible when you get it out of the box. Here are my settings for Day mode on BF3 Brightness 70, Contrast 55, Sharpness 7, Gamma 5, Red 80, Green 95, B 100 on standard yet if you want open up the black equalizer you set the option to FP1. The other con is I wish it was 1920 x 1200. More pixels are always nice.

Other Thoughts: My friend has the new 3d Acer 27 inch monitor and it took us all night to get the color right because the buttons are so hard to adjust the settings. So people complaining about the buttons is really funny since I own a new monitor every year and this one has the best button combination I have ever used. Yet it would be nice to get a remote control and I would pay more money for that. Benq should send me a free monitor for my review since I told the truth and I fixed the color scheme for the future customers lol

4 out of 5 eggsInsane Gaming , Average Everyday

Pros: Super sturdy stand, big, looks good.

Cons: Lots of adjusting to find a good blend for gaming, videos, pictures and everyday use (browsing, email, word docs, etc.)

Other Thoughts: I bought this to game on, and it is absolutely incredible. So clean, so crisp, amazing colors. Everything a gamer could want.

Unfortunately, it doesn't do well with everyday tasks, like youtube videos or pictures from our digital camera.

I've had this now for about 6 months and I still can't get the perfect adjustment when I'm using the computer casually, say to do homework or check my online banking.

Overall, for what its designed for (gaming) it does INCREDIBLY well so if that is what you will be doing the majority of the time, great. If not, I would look elsewhere.

I didn't give this a 3 star because I had read other user comments about this monitor not being great if you're not gaming and I bought it anyway, so shame on me.

4 out of 5 eggsFollow Up from my 3/8/2013 4-egg review

Pros: all holds true from my first review (pretty vibrant colors - especially blue - 120hz is great, physical design is sturdy, no backlight bleed along edges) although upon looking closer and paying closer attention when the screen is all black (first turns on or switching OSD profiles), backlight uniformity could be better (there is no backlight bleed or what i would think is clouding, although i guess slightly noticeable nonuniform lighting could be called clouding?). it's not as evenly lit as i originally thought, but nothing that detracts from the gaming experience or even normal use. really is only noticeable when the screen is purposely made all black with absolutely nothing else on the screen and you look for it and still overall mostly uniform.

love being able to customize quickly switch between multiple profiles (i have one preset for regular usage and one i use when playing competitive fpses - can quickly switch between them with the included s-switch)

OSD menus are clean and organized, easy to use.

Cons: all holds true from original review although the aforementioned "minor color shift" and "minor/subtle temperature/color inconsistencies" probably tie into/can be attributed to the not perfectly uniform backlight (which can cause minor color/temperature inconsistencies - all one issue), which, again, with some tweaking of the OSD settings and/or the use of a screen calibrator makes this minor technical issue unnoticeable during gaming and normal use. can also be caused due to the fact TN panels in general have very sensitive viewing angles by their very nature.

Other Thoughts: 120hz for gaming really is awesome, especially for fast-paced competitive fps gaming that relies on fast twitch reactions/motions/movement. i ALMOST was tempted to return this for the ASUS 144hz to see how much of a difference there is between 120hz and 144hz, but in depth reviews online (i.e. check TFT Central or Flatpanels HD or PCMonitors.info) show the BenQ is an overall better quality display. for normal use and gaming this monitor is great (out of the box colors need some OSD tweaking). I have a second display, an HP IPS panel with better color reproduction for design work/normal use, and so i designate each display for what it's best for - the BenQ for gaming and the HP for animation and design. both are great for normal use but it should be expected the IPS panel will have better colors than the TN.
