5 out of 5 eggsAwesome monitor

Pros: Looks great when watching movies, playing games. Works great nice amount of settings to adjust the monitor to your eyes.

Cons: Came with a stuck pixel that i easily fixed by rubbing it out. Other then that i dont see any problems with this monitor.

Other Thoughts: Will do a update of this review with more pro longed use.

5 out of 5 eggsThank You Reviewers

Pros: Only noticed because it was on an eblast sale, otherwise not in budget. One reviewer mentioned it was not a TN (twisted pixel style). Did not know that, thanks, so I bought it. Compared to my Dll ST24 inch it is WAY more crisp and vibrant!!!
I like that the power button/light is on the side, so I can't see it.
I like that the buttons have a solid feel/sound. No dead pixels.
Very nice packaging. Quite happy with this monitor, and I haven't even gotten around to installing the disc that it came with!
After adjusting a few times, I found I could (without looking) just lay my fingers tips on the adjustment buttons, and did not need to see them to adjust brightness. However, if thick fingers, maybe not.

Cons: Not really a con, but it is not quite plug n play. However, are any?
Text was not sharp, but setting Contrast up to 60 fixed that. Text is now very crisp even when scrolling.
Definitely turn down Brightness! I set in low 20's for low light, and in low 30's for a sunny day.
Con turned good: my local grade school uses VGA cables, and swapped me for a DVI.

Other Thoughts: Again, thanks to the reviewer who mentioned that this was not a TN panel style. I was completely ignorant of this whole deal. Thanks to all the reviewers, as I usually learn something new.
Somebody mentioned less than solid stand: Are your pieces pushed all the way together 'till you hear solid 'click'? Do you live on a boat?

1 out of 5 eggsNot So Great After All!

Pros: It works, sort of. No bad pixels. Sharp image quality. Accurate color.

Cons: So many! :

Takes over 5 seconds to wake from standby.

When it wakes it announces its input source with a box mid-screen for 5 seconds. Can't turn that off.

When it sleeps it brightens back up to announce "NO SIGNAL DETECTED" for 5 full seconds. Can't turn that off either.

The glossy bezel had to be covered with black masking tape to stop it from reflecting light from behind me and to stop it from reflecting the screen at the edges!

And the WORST thing is that on 30% of web pages, the TEXT BLURS TERRIBLY when scrolling!! That is SO ANNOYING!!

Other Thoughts: I had enough! I replaced this hunk-o-junk with an Acer V243HAJbd and I couldn't be much happier!

BenQ quality has gone far downhill since they made my previous one (FP202W). That is an AWESOME monitor! If only I could have stretched the screen 3.5"!

Please disregard my previous reviews of this cruddy monitor.

4 out of 5 eggsAmazing monitor, but had to RMA first one

Pros: Compared to the ASUS gaming monitor I have right next to it, this BenQ has far far better image sharpness and color. This is to be expected considering is uses panel technology. The surprise however, is that this new panel cost me roughly half of what I paid for the ASUS for the same size monitor.

Cons: The first product I purchased had a small cluster (probably 3-4) of dead pixels near the center of the screen. I thought they may have been stuck but none of the remedies for that worked, so it went back. The 2nd monitor was perfect. Additionally, viewing angles are not nearly as forgiving as I had anticipated. In fact the ASUS "gaming" monitor next to it has slightly better viewing angles despite being a TN panel.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend anyone buying this or any monitor, running a free program like pixelrepairer immediately and going through the full screen color spectrum to identify any defective pixels. That has saved my behind a few times.

Make sure you turn the brightness way down when you get this monitor (like to 22). 100% brightness washes out the colors and blurs all that beautiful sharpness you just paid for.

For watching movies etc this is an amazing monitor, especially for the (sale) price.

5 out of 5 eggsJust outstanding quality image.

Pros: This monitor is really good, vibrant colors, and IPS image/screen quality.
The factory defaults make it too bright, so you have to manually adjust according to the light environment.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: With this 4ms-8ms monitor, I can work hours without eyestrain, contrary with my previous 2ms that after a few hours i had to use eyes drops.

If you do not like the glossy black edges, just do not remove the plastic cover on the edges.
Mine still have the plastic cover from factory, and i don't notice the piano glossy effect on the edges.

2 out of 5 eggsWill not buy BenQ again

Pros: Cheap

Cons: no hdmi (to be fair that's clearly in the spec)
poor image quality
poor viewing angle - vertical and horizontal
poor dvi/dsub input quality - had huge interference with one of my laptop but not the other. my hp 23xi worked flawlessly with both
leaks light on the edge of the monitor
glossy black edge reflects what's on screen, this is very annoying

Other Thoughts: Gave it two start as it's cheap enough and I am going to be out of town and don't want to bother with RMA.
Will never buy BenQ again.

5 out of 5 eggsLooks great!

Pros: Looks great for the price I paid. Sister said she loves it.

Cons: Vertical viewing angel not the best but but by no means bad. Wish it came with a DVI cable. I'll have to run out to the store later and buy one. Doesn't have an HDMI port but I already knew that before purchasing.

Other Thoughts: Paid $145.00. Can't complain. It's a great monitor. As I said before if it came with a DVI cable it would of been 100% perfect to me. Not going to take any eggs off because of the cable. Now I just got to buy a video card to power this thing lol. Intel HD 4000 graphics work but not the best lol.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great color for the most part, The blacks are deep and the colors are sharp, no dead pixels at all. This is a great price for a true 8-bit monitor, but it is definitely at the low end of the bunch.

Cons: The stand is all kinds of wobbly. Any subtle table shake will jolt the monitor which is incredibly unsettling. The viewing angle is decent, better than a typical monitor at this price point. there is a good bit of light bleed around the edge of the monitor. It's not obvious, but you will notice on black backgrounds.

Other Thoughts: So far things seem good. This isn't going to blow you away by any means, but calibrate this carefully and it will be impressive. The score reflects my first impressions, but I think in the grand scheme of things this will be a four-star.

5 out of 5 eggsBenq GW2450 monitor

Pros: Beautiful, big widescreen picture. Seems quite fast on motion. Nice, complete control set. Great price.

Cons: None. Could use a swivel base instead of just tilt, but I knew it didn't have one at time of purchase, so it's not really a con...more of a wishlist.

Other Thoughts: This was $100 off ($149 final price) and I had good luck with my other BenQ monitor. You won't find a higher quality 24" widescreen LED anywhere near that price.

Overall happy.
NO DEAD PIXELS!

Cons: Hardly a con but worth mentioning.

No HDMI (knew that before purchasing) I use DVI anyway.
Does not come with a DVI cable (I had one already)

Other Thoughts: For the price I would recommend it to anyone.
