Enjoyably bright with 10' wide image at 12' throw distance onto basic $175 pull-down screen.
Everything worked on first power-up, and adjustments to fit 10' screen for perfect 16:9 image took just minutes.
High quality look and details = great value for price.

Other Thoughts: I planned and installed this ceiling beam mounted projector in a new garage upper bonus room that also has an 18'w. opening garage door from which the screen canister hangs. The online BenQ planning tool was indespensable in locating the unit on a ceiling beam to clear a ceiling fan that itself had to clear the opened door. The result seems miraculously perfect, thanks to BenQ.

Pros: -1080P quality picture with great color reproduction

-Easy setup

-Great for Games and TV/Movies

-Amazing 3D(especially games nvidia 3d)

-Looks great in Day/Night with ambient light or light controlled room

-Fan is quiet with minimal heat output noted

Cons: -Takes a good room setup for it to really shine

-Obvious LOS with bulb to screen projection means DMZ :P

Other Thoughts: If you have the right room setup its great, but depending on many factors and what you want to do may be perfect for you or not.

Do some research, plan ahead, do u have room, do u need a short throw, ceiling mount, etc and you won't be disappointed if you buy this!

Pros: Picture quality is good. Colors are more into natural.

Cons: My projector was getting auto shutdown very first day(may due to heat, I am not sure). I checked and there was no sleep timer. I gets shutdown while playing moveis. I tried to refund and get higher model of Benq 1075. I was denied right away. I dont know what is meant by 45 days return policy advertised.

Other Thoughts: You should reconsider if you are buying any item based on good service from Newegg. Please read terms carefully. 45 days return policy is not what it looks in advertisements.

Living without a TV for two years... watching my movies and shows on my 21" computer monitor. I decided to take my first step into the 21st century. After researching for over a month of which projector I should get. This benq w1070 was it! Just had a movie night last night on my 106" screen. All my friends now want one. Guardians of the Galaxy with all its colors and VFX, I just sat back with my eyes wide open, shocked by the colors and the crisp 1080p at 106" no flaws.

Played Skyrim (Moded), Last of Us (PS3), and Counter-Strike GO on it. Runs like a champ. Thank goodness my room is so bright during the day, or I would never leave my apartment.

Cons: Set ups pretty labor intensive, but worth it in the end.

I wish there was a lens shifter from right to left.

Pros: Great projector, this replaced my TV so it's under heavy use and using the original bulb its still running great after 2 years. Works great for video games, had many Mario kart tournament at my house.

Pros: I've read raving reviews about this BenQ PJ. Super excited to get it set up.

Cons: ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. Either I'm an idiot for not knowing how to connect this or this is poorly constructed product that somehow past QA from BenQ/Newegg. I connected the projector to my laptop (Lenovo T430s via VGA) and tried turning on the PJ. The "Power" light flashes (according to the manual, this means its turning on). Then eventually the "Lamp" light turns solid red. "temp" light remains off. Then the PJ beeps twice before shutting down with "Lamp" still solid red and "Power" in solid green.

Other Thoughts: Worst of all, BenQ support is horrible. Bad documentation and forums is non existent (couldn't find any forums, maybe it exist?). They have a whole section on the definition of the lights, everything except the situation I mentioned above (LAMP = Red, Power = Green).

Pros: This projector is easy to use and has great color. I have connected it to external speakers so I cannot comment on the speaker quality. I highly suggest getting a grey screen rather than a white screen as this increases the contrast, and this projector is more than capable of compensating.

Cons: can be hard to plug in an hdmi cable -- just add a little elbow grease and make sure the plug is seated properly if there's a connection problem.

Pros: They say "things" can't make you happy, but this thing does. I was already expecting this to be good, but not this good. I am stunned by how sharp and bright the image is. I will never go back to being a normal person and using a regular screen.

Cons: Honestly can't think of any at the moment.

Pros: This projector has been fantastic. I bought it a little over a year ago and have been using it daily ever since. The picture is great, it is bright (I can use it during the day just fine as long as I have the curtains closed), and the screen can be HUGE without any noticeable loss in quality. Also, the response time is tiny on this projector (this is one of the main factors I used to determine which projector to buy when I was doing research) and it is perfect for playing quick, competitive games like Super Smash Bros. Brawl (emulated via Dolphin emulator so I can play in HD of course) and Mario Kart 8. No (noticeable) lag whatsoever. Even while playing Street Fighter 4 it is not noticeable.

I have not noticed the brightness on the bulb decreasing yet (although I'm sure it has a little bit). Whenever I do I'll look into replacing the bulb, but the picture is still really bright after a year!

Cons: This thing gets quite hot after a few minutes! But that is honestly par for the course. The fans are pretty loud, but it is not noticeable except for maybe when you watch a quiet part in a movie (and even then... I'm not so sure it is really that bad).

Other Thoughts: I highly recommend this projector. Well worth the price. Why pay $1,000 for a decent 60 inch TV when you can pay $1000 for a 12 foot projector screen??

Pros: I am someone who sees rainbow effect more than most others. I stepped up from an LCD 720p Epson (that I also really liked and purchased to avoid rainbow), and was fearful about rainbow effect going back to DLP. I guess the faster color wheel does indeed help, since, while still there, the effect for me remains very minimal...not enough to bother me like it was on an old infocus x1. The only time I really notice it is if there is something very white on the screen and I move my eyes side to side.
I'm very happy with the projector. I didn't know what I was missing until I finally made the switch from 720p to 1080p.
I haven't tried the 3d.
Also, it's quite bright, bright enough to use with the lights on in the room (though obviously much better with them off).

Cons: while I only see minimal rainbows, they do still exist. I haven't tried other current-model DLP projectors, but it is way better at hiding rainbows than the older DLP's I've used in the past.
