5 out of 5 eggsBest 144hz 1080 TN panel available

Pros: If you want the very best experience while gaming, you buy a BenQ TN panel.

Cons: None, I've owned this panel since Dec 2013, have no intentions on replacing it anytime soon.

Other Thoughts: BenQ panels are definitley not for budget gaming, they are the best when it comes to fps gaming.

1 out of 5 eggsVery Disappointed

Pros: Magic hertz, see them <--- they are right there.

Cons: Going from a beautiful Asus picture to this Benq was a huge step backward. I ran both displays side by side and the Asus had a better picture, but I kept the Benq for the higher refresh rate. Speaking of which, makes no difference to me (though I do leave it in 144hz during gaming to try to get some satisfaction for buying this monitor). I guess a certain segment of the population can see more hertz LOL. The controls are horrible, I can't tell you how many times I have turned the screen on or off by accident. The onscreen settings are a cluster. I don't have the time to go through them all. Powering up the monitor takes longer. I think my pc boots faster than the screen comes up on the Benq.

Other Thoughts: Switching from HDMI to DVI makes all my icons disappear. I have both so I can game with 144hz and watch Blu Rays in HDMI mode. This is another 'bonus' the Benq has presented. BEWARE hdmi can only do 60hz. Soon I will put this monitor on craigslist and try to forget the whole ordeal.

Pros: This TN panel is simply amazing!!
144hz
1ms
Lightboost
Motion-Blur Technology
Nvidia 3-D Vision 2
Some of the richest colors I have ever seen on a 144hz TN panel!!!
This panel is now discontinued but I paid 269.00 for it over a year ago.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitor!

Pros: I will never go back to a 60Hz monitor again after playing games and watching movies with this. It is kind of depressing. I find myself disgusted with all other monitors as they are too junk to even look at.

Cons: It had exactly one dead pixel off and to the bottom right after opening. It is totally ignorable and not a big deal.

Other Thoughts: This one is better than its ASUS competitor. Better colors, better, blacks. Movies play amazing on this thing. Fast games like CS:GO are even more amazing.

5 out of 5 eggsBenQ XL Series XL2420TE

Pros: Pretty awesome if I do say so myself.

Running it with a GTX 690, and everything is smooth.

Cons: None really.

Color quality is less than my other 2 monitors ( Asus VE248 ), but you're not buying this for the picture, but for the performance.

Other Thoughts: None

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitor!

Pros: Going from a 60Hz to a 144Hz monitor is unbelievable. Games are very smooth if you can get high enough fps. If you are an avid gamer you WILL see a difference. This was a great purchase.

Cons: The picture quality is noticeably less than that of, for example, a TV of the same size. There seems to be less color depth with this monitor.

Other Thoughts: Although the picture quality is a bit low, this display makes up for it with it's 144Hz display mode! Definityl not something you should be using for HD movies or professional photo editing, but for gaming, its well worth the price tag! Another thing to consider is that in order to harness it's full potential, you need to be getting 144+ FPS in games. Use "Fraps FPS counter" (free program) to measure your FPS in games before you purchase this monitor. Also consider that you will notice a difference between 60Hz and 144Hz, but 120Hz to 144Hz may not be as noticeable.

5 out of 5 eggsCRT is obselete!!!

Pros: Beautiful colors (for a TN Panel)
LED Backlight is Bright.
It really does 144Hz!!!
Worth Every Penny!

Cons: Takes a while to switch screen modes and come out of standby. (about 5 secs on DVI-D). Off the base, Screen seems kind of flimsy and 'squeaky'. They should have included a proper cleaning cloth instead of a PVC cover that sits folded up in the closet.

Other Thoughts: The base is heavier than the monitor. Ok if you dont go 'gorilla' on it. Really does what it's supposed to. Was going to dock an egg for the long wake-up time, but I have only tried DVI. The issue could be resolved by future firmware updates. Little remote thingy is useful, but somewhat redundant.
Really is as smooth as a crt at > 100Hz.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Nice, BenQ XL Series XL2420TE

Pros: Nicely built and packaged, great adjustability and once color is adjusted decent colors.
This is a nice monitor...best I have ever had.
I would buy another one!

Cons: I have not been satisfied with the 120-133hz. I have a I2600k and EVGA GTX780TI SC ACX (16GB Ram) and while it runs fine at a 120hz I still see little improvement from my standard 60Hz monitor. Probably not the monitors fault...maybe I need to reinstall my drivers or my Fios is the problem? Being I do not think it's the monitors fault I still will give it 5 stars.

Also, the buttons for changing the presets on the base are blocked by the fact my keyboard is in the way. I do not know how you could make it better though.

3 out of 5 eggsNot worth it

Pros: It is a big display, not something I was expecting but nice none the less. High refresh rate no taring. Sold build quality, and very configurable.

Cons: Poor color accuracy. I know this is true for most high refresh rate monitors but I expected better. 144hz is not as great as i expected. yes it looks better with more than 60 fps, but that luxury is not really worth the money. Also, it is hard for me to even hit higher than 60 fps with my GTX 680, though that of course will vary from person to person.

Other Thoughts: High refresh rate monitors are not ready.
