5 out of 5 eggsCSGO Supreme Master First Class Review

Pros: "EDIT: 12/28/2015 I just realized I forgot this entire time to enable 144hz on windows. Now that I did now I notice a huge difference! Wow, please remember to do this if you buy this monitor and you will have no regrets! 5/5 across all the boards!"

There are a lot of mixed reviews about how much better people are getting by upgrading to a 144hz monitor, so I hope I can be the best reviewer yet when it comes to the difference you will experience.

There comes a point in CSGO where you've gotten as good as you can be with your current config, reflexes, sprays, aim, and prefiring. I will say, that if you know for certain that you've mastered this in every possible way, and that you know your monitor to be more than 1 ms response time and your hz to be less than 128hz+ than you will notice a HUGE DIFFERENCE getting this monitor.

I was using a 60hz Acer 23" 1080 monitor 5ms response time, and getting 300fps on csgo. Of course the 240fps extra I get won't matter because of my refresh rate on my monitor. But ever since I got this monitor, I see the color in the game to its full extent noticing enemies across the map in perfect detail as they are moving or going anywhere. I can see exactly where my cross hair is going at any time even in cases where I need to turn a complete 180 in half a second, so I can lock on extremely easy.

Now the biggest difference I've noticed is that i'm finally able to 1 tap accross the map with ak without any problems. To Be honest I have an amazing spray and I can usually spray someone across the map no problem but that's not quick enough in most cases. Before with my old montior I would one tap to the head and it wouldn't register that well when they were moving. Well I figured it that had to do with the 5ms response time from my monitor. Now with 1ms response time with my reactions. I tap shoot to the head, and I get the dink nearly every time. I am dropping people extremely easy now as I can tap at ease and feel more comftorable about my shot placement. I am also more confident peaking around corners as I feel I have easily allowed myself some extra time to take a peak at the enemy as I can see what happening on the screen faster. I feel like now that I got this monitor I have a huge window now to improve my skills way farther than I ever had before. I can practice my aim in new ways, and master this 1ms response time and perfect visuals. I will improve more now with this especially in ESEA matches with 128 tik servers this will greatly benefit my aim as it encompasses 128 refreshes a second matching my 144hz frames per second coupled with my 300fps. AS far as if it will make you better, only get this monitor if you have the funds, or if you feel you are at that level where you know some new hardware is going to better your gameplay. Otherwise that, get a better mouse, mousepad, keyboard. Disable mouse acceleration, and watch youtube videos and pro matches to get better first before you consider a new monitor of this caliber.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I have so many good things to say I wish I had more time to write a better review for everyone here as right now the layout of this review is going to look unprofessional.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice!

Pros: -144Hz!
-LED backlight (perfectly evened lighting, no bleeding around edges of monitor)
-DVI, HDMI, miniDisplay ports, USB ports, aux jack
-Sturdy, adjustable stand in both the y and z direction
-great color quality
-no motion blur at all (even in fast-paced cs:go), so no need to even use lightboost
-Great QA (absolutely zero dead pixels. Screamed like a girl when I checked and saw that there were none. Also very good, protected, thick styrofoam + cushioned packaging.
-3 different "profiles" or globally saved settings to quick switch from + a remote to switch them if you want.
-Easily accessible and succinct menu
-Auto power off feature (this is great if you are watching a movie or tv show before bed, and in general to save electricity whilst afk)
-3 year manufacturer warranty included
-loving the red/black design of the monitor housing, but then again, I am looking at the monitor itself so it could be purple for all I care.
-absolutely no need for lightboost as there is no ghosting or blur
-Ordered it Saturday arrived the following Tuesday with standard shipping. Very fast, thanks Newegg, as usual! :-)

-I could go on and on, this monitor is just amazing!

Cons: -Not Gsync compatible but when I read reviews of 144Hz regular and 144Hz Gsync it's not a major necessity. IMO it doesn't seem to be worth an extra $200 for Gsync unless you want to get that "little extra", which is like having a Titan-X gpu instead of a 970 or 980. Just...not necessary. Save yourself the money!

Install CD isn't an Autoplay, but if you know how to navigate through folders this isn't a problem. You'll need to run the monitor.exe and the auto.exe (in separate folders just hunt a bit for them) to install stuff and calibrate it (I manually calibrated mine).

Other Thoughts: Basically put, this is a great monitor, and is a fair price.

make sure your graphics card is capable of displaying 144Hz before you buy a 144Hz monitor. Almost all new graphics cards are (nvidia 900 series, radeon 200 series)

Buy a 144Hz monitor if you're still using 60Hz and your eyes will immediately thank you. They will not dry up or get irritated from looking at a good 144Hz display

The added low blue-light is a great feature for late night web browsing. I wouldn't enable it whilst gaming as it isn't necessary and you'd have to completely redo the color balances, which would defeat the effectiveness of the bluelight

Use the DVI or miniDisplay port cable to get 144Hz. HDMI does not support 144Hz.

Also the mouse input lag for gaming gets completely eliminated. I have basically maxed out my skills in cs:go and it's just a matter of getting used to this monitor now. It is super smooth and I can get more points/kills now that the input lag is for all practical purposes, 0.

I have to reiterate that the colors, when calibrated and adjusted correctly look fantastic for cs:go.

To check for dead pixels set your desktop background to a pure white image and move all the icons in a single folder

Set both the monitor to 144Hz, nvidia(or ati) control panel to 144Hz, and launch commands to 144Hz. (for cs:go it is -refresh 144)

Thank you newegg and BenQ!

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome monitor

Pros: 144hz - just make sure to enable on your computer. (also make sure to use the DVI port and the cable provided otherwise 144 wont work as HDMI and Display dont support the 144 refresh rate)
I play CSGO quite often and could easily tell the difference between my 60hz and this 144hz.
Good picture quality
Easy to setup
USB ports on the monitor
Profile keys

Cons: A pain to swap between inputs. You have to hit the button just above the power then select menu, then display, then the input you want. No other monitor I have owned has needed to do so but no egg taken for htis
Using for consoles adds a extra step. If you need to use audio from your HDMI to lets say a headset or speakers you will need to use the audio port on the left side of the monitor as there is no built in speaker.

Other Thoughts: All in all this is a good monitor the only thing that could make it better is a better selection for what input you want to use.

5 out of 5 eggsThis is the perfect FPS gaming monitor

Pros: I'm so impressed, I don't even know what to say.

It's 144hz, and for the people who can't see any difference, need to go to a doctor as soon as possible. There is a huge difference. I can see a ULTRA HUGE experience in 144hz, even just by moving my cursor.

Out of box is sweet like my previous IPS monitor and no calibration needed. It is excellent out of the box (the colors). If you are looking for a beautiful color 144hz monitor, this is probably the best monitor out there.

Cons: Mines shipped with a tiny dead pixel, (1 dead pixel) in the middle of the screen. I can hardly see it unless I look very near into the monitor and it's still hard to find so I don't care about it. It doesn't ruin anything.

I can't feel any other cons.

Other Thoughts: This monitor, is amazingly beautiful. The colors are no different than the IPS panels (well for me) I lived with a 60hz IPS monitor all my life, upgrading to a TN 144hz panel have no color difference. I don't care if people see a difference in color-wise, but for me I play all the games, even see beautiful videos and pictures on google and it's beautiful the colors.

If you are on a laptop, need a cable that can provide 144hz, and if the laptop has mini displayport, just find any mini displayport to displayport cable. They ALL provide 144hz beauty.

Note: You need a Displayport Cable or a Dual link-DVI cable if you want to experience the rich, amazingly beautiful 144hz.

5 out of 5 eggsIt's very good. Like, wow.

Pros: Its image quality is very good when the settings are finally at their best on both the display and the graphics card. I haven't seen any problems in the image that I've achieved. That's impressive for this monitor since I've been striving for excellence in this exact area of tech use for over fifteen years. It's a great panel, despite being a TN. You should not have any fears about that issue.

I do not have any other problems with it, either. There are no dead pixels, no broken or poorly made parts, and the menu system is good, offering many options. The 3D is fantastic. I must admit, though, that the only other measure of 3D that I have is RealD at the theaters. I use it for gaming and Blu-Ray movies, all in 3D.

Cons: All I can think of is that it's not an IPS panel, which would have genuine full color support.

Other Thoughts: I do not have a use for the add-on S.Switch since I just use it for my PC and have achieved my preferred settings. I imagine, though, that it might be quite useful for using the display with other devices, like consoles and such, allowing for quick and easy switching of settings.

{All of the below settings are likely to change in small ways over time.}

My monitor settings:
Brightness: 40
Contrast: 37
(I have not done professional color balancing, yet.)

My nVidia settings:
Contrast: 77
Gamma: 1.00
Digital Vibrance: 74 (Color Saturation)
(nVidia's 3D glasses have a slight green color to them, so I lower the gamma of the green channel down to 0.94 when in 3D mode.)

5 out of 5 eggsBeautiful Monitor

Pros: Games look absolutely amazing and movies, anime and videos are stunning too. The 144hz 1ms Response time makes it visually flawless.

Cons: Out of box configuration is terrible. You need to configuration your monitor settings very well which can be a little difficult at first. Once you get the correct settings it looks amazing though. 5/5

5 out of 5 eggsBest Monitor to play CS:GO on

Pros: there are so many Pros to this monitor, lets name a few!!
- 144Hz Refresh Rate, you'll never go back to 60Hz
- Black Equalizer mode
- Settings in the monitor
- 24 inch is the perfect size

Cons: Cons.
- Kinda pricey (but for 144hz monitor they tend to be high in price.)
- the S-switch for the different gaming profiles can tend to get hit sometimes if you play CS:GO like i do with 1280x920 with your face smashed in the screen to see every pixel possible. if you don't need to switch profiles for games don't bother using it .

Other Thoughts: All around a great keyboard 100% the best monitor i've ever had the privilege to use 100% would buy another one or even two to triple screen my PC with such good looking monitors.
