Question 2

How does the monitor's picture quality look when it's on the desktop or surfing the web?

Only asking, as due to the pixel-density width being 2560 I would assume that images and text would be blurred, inaccurate, fuzzy, etc.. in appearance.

I am on the fence about purchasing this monitor and this question is the deal-breaker, as I am not gaming 24/7 on my PC, even though it's a gaming rig.

I haven't noticed any of those effects. Try to think of the 2560 just added screen, not stretched. This monitor looks like any other "high end" 1080p screen, just wider. I mostly game on this monitor and have not done any photo editing on it so far. The monitor is great for surfing the web, but the desktop icons do look a bit large. I put all my applications in the task bar so I don't have to deal with that.

I'm thinking about buying this monitor to use for both Xbox and PC gaming.  I especially love Destiny and want a nice unit for the upcoming Destiny 2 sequel.  Will this monitor run (with a great visual experience) both the Xbox One game at 30fps and the PC version at 4k and 60fps?  Assume for the answer that I have a rockin' video card but don't expect G-Sync.

This monitor is not for 4k gaming. It is a 2k screen. It also doesnt support G-Sync.  It can run any game on pcs (dependant on your graphics card) at 144 FPS and it will run anything on the xbox, just have to adjust your ingame settings for it.

I have read in order to get the most out of this monitor you have to use the display port, my question is, if I use a HDMI to display port cable will I get the same results as using just a display port cable? Both of my brand new graphic cards only have HDI output's.

what GPU do you own??? if they are brand new they should have DISPLAY PORT. And the answer to your question is, NO, only with display port can you achieve 144htz, HDMI only supports 60fps. Your only other option is to go with a DVI cable which does support 144htz penetration but no audio, external speakers will be needed which we all mostly use anyways. BUT IN THIS CASE THIS MONITOR DOES NOT HAVE A DVI INPUT SOURCE. Sorry dude, if you want this monitor and was more that 60fps then it will have to be through DISPLAY PORT input.

Yes it is. The curved screen helps when you want to sit closer than normal. I use it in my apartment so I didn’t have to bring in a space eating TV. Can see it fine from my couch.

Question 6

How is this unit for First Person Shooters? Is there an issue with ghosting? With neither Gsync nor Freesync do you notice screen tearing or the like?  I have a 1080ti so I should get great frame rates. Lastly how are the colors? Do they looked washed out like some TN panels? Thanks!

The 1080ti should produce high enough frame rates on most games to push the monitor towards the 144hz limit. At those framerates your FPS games will look amazingly smooth, and the curve really brings everything into your field of view. Its much much more than the mild gimmick I thought it was. I have noticed some tearing though, but this is in some higher end games on a 1060 like wildlands with settings set high and LOTS running in the background (many tabs, upwards of 1400 i believe).

I don't have a comparison for TN vs. other panels, but the colors look amazing next to other displays i've used for friends and family, even tv's. Honestly this is the best monitor i've ever owned and couldn't recommend it more unless it had gsyync.

Last note, be wary of the weight of this, the number of features do mean its packed to the brim, and its mass is definitely more significant than more barebones 42" tv's that feel like they weigh a mere 5lbs.

The bezels are not very large but the inside dimensions of the screen are 13.75" tall and 32" wide. The wide dimension was taken without accounting for the screen curve meaning it was measured straight across. This monitor is used for mostly gaming and I am very happy with it.

I have a 1ms response time monitor, I'm a competitive CS player. Will the +3ms make a huge impact?!

Yes, some people say that going from 1ms to 3ms makes a difference for CS. Do you already have a 144hz monitor instead of a 60hz monitor, because thats a huge difference as well. For most games you would never notice the difference in MS and its debatable if you can even in CSGO.

I have several BenQ monitors (24" and 27") and they are both very adjustable.  This 35" model doesn't seem to have as much capability to adjust.  How capable is it to maneuver into that "just right" position?

The position adjustments are extremely limited.  It tilts and that’s it.  No swivel, no height adjustment.  It does take up some real-estate on the desk top.  19 ½ inches high (on the stand) and 33 ½ inches wide.  If you want to get the full use of the 144 Hz refresher you will need a DisplayPort cable otherwise your looking no better than a 60 Hz refresh with HDMI.  The location of the input connectors makes it challenging to swap out the HDMI cables as you have to lay the screen forward to access the ports.  So, with all that I have above would I get it again?  SURE WOULD!  I have had it for just over a year (so mine cost MUCH more than they do now) and haven’t had a bit of trouble with it.  You will have to tweak the setting to your preferences but once you do it is a great monitor.  O’ and one more thing it has no built-in speakers, but it’s not a big deal as most who buy this will have some sort of surround sound connected anyway.  It does have a pass though so you can plug external speakers in the built-in audio jack.
