4 out of 5 eggsGood Screen

Pros: We use these exclusively at work. I usually order 5 at a time and probably have over 150 in service. Overall they are a solid work screen for regular users. The speakers are adequate for most desktop users as well. DVI/VGA inputs is a plus. Screen stays pretty clear when using VGA unlike some that get real fuzzy.

Cons: As others have mentioned, they're apparently reducing their QC and it's starting to show. I've had a handful of these die within the first year with various symptoms whereas our older purchases are still going strong. Any bad screens have been exchanged by Planar support without question.

The panel isn't the best for gamers or image buffs, there are better alternatives for the price.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Bought this monitor a little over three years ago directly from Planar because I felt that it was a better quality and came with a three year warranty.

Cons: Started to have intermittent cutouts just after warranty expired.

Other Thoughts: Not worth the extra price paid for this product.

5 out of 5 eggsGood 4:3 19" monitor

Pros: Good picture, low power consumption, no dead pixels. Auto-tune worked fine to center the picture edge to edge, everything else looked good at the default settings. It has a 4:3 aspect ratio, so it looks better with "classic" software and video cards.

Personally I like the 4:3 ratio better anyway, you have to have a bigger wide screen to have the same readability.

Cons: I've only had it a few days, so I can't report on longevity.

Other Thoughts: The built in speakers are for basic business use while keeping the desk uncluttered. Don't expect them to be equivalent to a typical speaker set.

1 out of 5 eggsWay too many deaths!

Pros: Were good monitors w/ a good warranty

Cons: We have purchased approximately 70 of these screens. The original batch that we purchased over three years ago are still working, about a year ago they switched up the design and their quality whet with it. We have sent in approximately 20 - 30 of the last major purchase for replacement. The display just stops working and the LED blinks green / amber. We have tried their "Reboot" with very little success. They have been good about replacing them but quite frankly we are tired of messing with them. Long story good they WERE good monitors but recently their QC is horrid. Do not expect these to last any length of time.

2 out of 5 eggsDisappointed

Pros: Bright.

Cons: Brightness is not uniform. The center is brighter than the rest of the screen.
Color is way off.

Other Thoughts: If you are using this monitor you are missing a great deal of image detail!
I'm comparing to a Dell 1905FP which I've been using for a few years now.
This PL is replacing the Dells at my office, and I'm not happy about it.
My company is so disappointed with this monitor we're sending them all back.
I wouldn't recommend this monitor to anyone.

5 out of 5 eggsWOW Very Nice Monitor!

Pros: I did not buy this from Newegg, but i bought this from a guy on Crxxxslist for $xxx and and even though the molding are kinda ugly, but it does what it does! i had a LCD before it was westing house. Don't buy from them it so troublesome. and made the right choice in getting this on instead of westing house.

Cons: Ugly molding, not actual con but just my preference.

Other Thoughts: Price but i got mines for $xxx! ^_^

3 out of 5 eggsNot worth the money

Pros: Has adjustable refresh rates, built in speakers work and there's a front panel audio jack which is convenient.

Cons: It's not widescreen, has limited resolution range.

Other Thoughts: The lack of any drivers and the fact that the text quality are laughable compared to lesser priced Acer widescreen models make me wish our IT department had someone who actually used things prior to purchasing.

5 out of 5 eggsGood basic business LCD

Pros: We've bought quite a few of these to use in a dual-screen configuration on existing PCs and in a single screen configuration on Wyse V90 thin clients. In both cases they work extremely well. We pair them up with the EVGA 256-A8-N313-LX for dual screen operation (One screen connected via DVI the other is analog, HD-15). The built-in speakers do fine for typical business uses. We haven't had any failures or DOAs with almost 30 units installed so far.

Cons: It isn't the most attractive LCD you'll ever see. The plastic moldings are not the best ever, but that doesn't seen to have any functional effect.

Other Thoughts: We will keep buying more, and more, and more...

2 out of 5 eggsHad it with Planar bad quality

Pros: cheap

Cons: too bright (contrast marketing gimmick)? Can not find a comfortable viewing setting.

Other Thoughts: Lasted only 3 months before it went dark with the power light alternately flashing amber, green, and off. 2nd Planar to fail in less than a year.
