Pros: I have one of these running on Ubuntu GNU/Linux. It doesn't support the full 10 point touch but it does single touch out of the box. Really doesn't do much unless you get the Easystroke Gestures app but when you do you can do a lot of cool stuff!

Cons: No multi-gesture support out of the box on Ubuntu GNU/Linux.

Pros: Single touch works out of box on Ubuntu (GNU/Linux) 13.05.

Cons: Dual touch, or the full 10 finger touch does not work out of box. I haven't figured out how to get it to work yet.

Other Thoughts: I bought this as a compliment to my Thinkpad W510 touch (dual/two finger touch) when I dock it at work. I used to have a non-touch LCD and everytime I would dock and just use the single screen I would get frustrated by lack of touch, it made for a very lousy workflow.

This at least lets me do most of my single finger gestures for navigating workspaces and annotating on screen.

I will likely by another one for my home workstation when I get a dock for that too.

Pros: Works very well. Has great response to touch and good color. The stand works well and the viewing angles are really good. Has usb ports on the monitor.

Cons: The camera is not good. They say it is HD and it may be, but it looks horrible. The usb ports are where you connect your HDMI cable which is nice for fixed usb devices or items, but not helpful for thumb drives, etc.

Other Thoughts: I am interested to see how the Acer 27 inch monitor works. It has a better response time 5ms versus 12ms for this monitor. It also has usb ports on the side. Still I know planar comes up as some of the best touch monitors on the market and so I bought this. Just be aware anywhere you buy this monitor is cheaper than Newegg. The price they are charging is outrageous compared to the competition.

Pros: WEBCAM, Mic, and Monitor all working great now that replacement has arrived.

Touch Calibration is spot on.

Newegg was great with the return of the defective unit. First time that I've had to return something to Newegg in the years I've been ordering from them.

Cons: The 3 day shipping took 4 Business Days. No idea why, as the item sat in Phoenix for 36 hours before being forwarded to local UPS distribution point. No fault of Newegg.

Other Thoughts: The replacement PCT2785 arrived today. Installation was seamless, and both the WEBCAM and Mic work per the Specs.

Display is awesome and touch point calibration is very accurate.

I had ordered a 27" Dell XPS 27, but the ever increasing delivery times resulted in my cancelling that and just buying this Touch Screen Monitor. It is probably the best thing that could have happened, as now I can upgrade or replace the basic computer and retain the Touch Screen capabilities.

Since I am just a general user, I doubt that I will ever notice the difference that the 2560X1440 Dell display would have made over the 1920X1080 of the PLANAR.

I am finding that there are many situations where the touch screen is very handy, as an example when viewing a document it is intuitive to be able to use the touch feature to scroll through the document. Other activities are still better handled with my Trackball, but it's like having the best of both worlds.

Now, back to playing with the new toy.

I definitely recommend this Monitor for anyone that desires the Touch Screen capabilities.

Pros: The monitor is huge, it looks really nice on the desk.

Windows 8 seems to get along with it just fine, it detected the touch, webcam and audio over hdmi.

Video and games look great on it.

The touch works well for poking at tiles and those touch-centric casual games.

Cons: It took a lot of messing around in the OSD to get it looking decent.

The built-in camera / speakers are basically junk.

The touch overlay isn't always responsive and smooth, and really lacks the precision I was hoping for. Sometimes there are areas of the touchscreen where it doesn't even register input at all. Dragging your finger(s) across the screen isn't frictionless and smooth.

When running an app with a lot of whitespace like word or excel or something you can see the touch grid, not a big deal really but kind of annoying.

My videocard really wants to underscan the display (over hdmi), so I had to mess around in it's control panel to fix that.

Other Thoughts: I guess I'll have to keep looking for something that brings that great tablet/phone feel to the desktop, this monitor will get you there and makes Windows 8 less horrible to use, but still falls short is certain areas.

Pros: Very quick reply from PLANAR to my message to Support.

Cons: The message referenced an attachment, but there was no attachment in the message. They basically quoted info in the Manual, which I had already read. Also referred to the "Mic Port" on the Monitor, BUT there is no Mic Port, only "Audio In" and "Earphone Audio". I will send a picture of the Input Panel with my next message to PLANAR. I'm beginning to think that there is no WEBCAM in this Monitor, though the Specs state that there is one.

Other Thoughts: Again, I'll update as info becomes available, and hopefully be able to upgrade the Egg Rating.

Pros: Basic installation was plug and play. Default touch calibration is perfect. Good audio for monitor speakers.
Using on Windows 8

Cons: WEBCAM is not found by Windows 8. PLANAR does not even list this model in their Support section. Email sent to PLANAR.

Other Thoughts: I'll update when issue resolved
