4 out of 5 eggsSketchy at first but it got better

Pros: It is amazing to have an ultra wide monitor, after using one, you will never want to go back to 1920x1080!

Makes games look way more awesome and you can see more. This is an advantage when playing competitive FPS's like Counter-Strike: GO.

Great for a workstation, you can have all of your tools and property windows and everything open.

The color is really nice

Cons: When I first hooked it up, there was a tearing effect exactly in the center of the monitor. It stayed there for maybe a week but it went away somehow.

There was also a noise coming from the monitor, maybe the speakers? That also went away.

Just today, I noticed that when you get close the the monitor, on the sides there is a shadow, but it disappears when you are about 2 1/2 feet away from it.

Also just noticed the the screen is sticking out on the top left, it isn't flush like the rest of the edges.

When I lightly squeeze the screen on the bottom right it makes a clicking sound.

It seems that my screen wasn't put on completely correct. Oh well, at least it works I guess.

Other Thoughts: Overall, I would recommend this monitor to anyone. Or even a newer version like the curved version. Everyone should have an ultra wide!

5 out of 5 eggsBeautiful and functional upgrade! (2K display)

Pros: 1. Extremely wide screen and can be split easily. EX: coding, modeling, and video.
2. NO bleed issues for me. Make sure you update your software first then CALIBRATE the monitor. Calibration is ignored by too many people.
3. Crisp detail for renders. Great for rendering/content creators.
4. Works well with GeForce NVIDIA 980 ti 6GB FTW graphics cards. Video is great with no lag at all.
5. Joystick is a breeze to use.
6. Several options for connectivity and they're finally placed where you can reach them without worrying about tipping over the monitor.
7. Easily replaces one small monitor with enough space for three monitors (for me). I upgraded from a 22" widescreen.
8. Fits my workspace perfectly! Measuring before you buy cannot be overstated here.

Cons: 1. Not clearly labeled 2K but much more affordable than a 4K display when I purchased it. This was a seller's issue, not a Newegg issue. Customer service gets 5 Eggs for helping me out.
2. Seemingly cheap plastic stand that looks like metal. Not a deal breaker but seems weird when you feel the display and it's frame. You know where the money went! The stand is sturdy despite the material it's made from. Attaching the display uses just two screws.
3. Poor work space planning will bite you in the rear. Measure first where you're putting it. Not an issue for me but this won't fit some small corner desk.

Other Thoughts: 1. Great if you can't afford 4K just yet.
2. Check for it on sale and save up. Use the price alert.
3. The connectors are farther up and behind the screen instead of an awkward position.
4. I bet it's great for gaming but I'm working in content creation so if you really want to check a 4K texture then get the 4K display.

4 out of 5 eggsLove it

Pros: Freaking WIDE
Plenty of inputs
LG makes great LCD's so why buy a rebranded to Dell or HP?

Cons: WIDE..take a little time to get used to but after you do..you'll never go back

5 out of 5 eggsI like it

Pros: I did some reading on the reviews on here, and although the bleeding would be an issue for me I have none to speak of. I matched it with a 980ti and I'm playing Rainbow six siege on ultra in 3440x1440. It's amazingly smooth. Getting back into PC gaming and this had made my experience better for sure. The detail is nice and eventually I will get another card and a 4K tv. Until then this will do nicely. Also, the ps4 really sweetened the deal so I would definitely buy again.

Thanks newegg

Cons: I'm not sure if it's bios settings or what but using the display port the monitor does not "wake" until Windows has loaded. Maybe it's the card. I haven't tried other ports to test but it does work great once the drivers are loaded and Windows is at the desktop. I just don't see the Windows loading screens.

Other Thoughts: A nice addition to my household

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice monitor for editing and gaming

Pros: I picked this monitor for a new build. I looked at and researched several and was about to purchase this one, when to my surprise, when I was ready to commit and purchase it from newegg, there was a bundle deal including the PS4 Uncharted bundle. I couldn't believe it. Both the monitor and PS4 arrived in great shape. There is some backlight as other reviews have stated, but it isn't that bad and I've seen degrees of it in every monitor I've owned. Very happy with purchase, and the free PS4!

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I received an incredible deal.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Monitor

Pros: I'm very happy with this LG monitor. HUGE screen with vibrant colors. No dead pixels at all. Better game immersion. No lag (60hz) Got a terrific deal from Newegg as well Hello 3440X1440, goodbye 1080 !!

Cons: None !

Other Thoughts: Make sure you have a decent video card with 3-6 gigs of RAM. I have a Geforce 780 and it works well with just about everything set to very high. Ultra settings really push my 780 to its knees though.

3 out of 5 eggsBeautiful Panel but too much backlight bleed

Pros: Man I wanted to love and keep this beauty. This is a very good looking display. Color, contrast, and viewing angles are great.

Cons: I know people whine and complain about backlight bleed when in reality IPS panels glow by nature. HOWEVER, this monitor exhibits waaaaay to much bleed, were talking noticeable washout in the corners even on a non black background. After much research I found this to be a very common issue. I suggest looking into the other guys brand first.

2 out of 5 eggsWas awesome for about 3 weeks..

Pros: Very beautiful display! Vivid and crisp colors. The software is pretty awesome for snapping multiple windows and controlling different PCs on multiple inputs. Big, big screen. Works wonders for photo/video editing. Gaming is pretty cool on this monitor especially FPS.

Cons: Right off the bad, I noticed some pretty bad backlight bleeding. Even when the brightness was turned significantly down. I was on the fence about it but decided to keep it.

Then about 3 or 4 days before the 30-day return policy would have ended, the display port quit working. During a start up, the entire right side of the screen quit working. I rebooted and displayport showed no signal. I tested another monitor with displayport and it worked.. So the Displayport died in 3 weeks of use. Unacceptable.

Had to return the monitor because of the displayport issue. I'm not paying $800 for a monitor with a broken input and backlight bleeding. I'm really disappointed in LG's quality control and will have to carefully consider purchasing LG products in the future.

Other Thoughts: Ultrawide support is... not very good. Netflix and all the other streaming services will render you with black bars on the side of the screen. The only content that did the 21:9 format were some movies that I downloaded a long time ago.

If you're a hardcore gamer, you need a powerful GPU for this monitor. I have a 4gb GTX 770 and I had to turn GTAV and BF4 down to medium settings just to get a measly 60fps. Where as I can get 90+fps on the same card on 1920*1080 on very high/ultra.

Honestly if you're set on a ultra wide 3440*1440 I would go for the Dell. It has a good warranty, the curved version is constantly on sale for ~$800 and you can overclock most of the Dells to about ~75hz. I went from a 144hz monitor to this and I must admit the 60hz was definitely noticeable and undesirable. If you're used to and love having high refresh rates I would re-consider your choices and go with a G/Freesync 1440 monitor.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Amazing for MMOs (FFXIV for me) because you get a so much wider field of view.

Cons: If you currently play at 1080 on games and don't have a newish video card, this monitor is going to make you really want a new card. All the extra real estate really taxes older cards. My 660ti has been holding on for dear life, didn't realize its 2.5 years old so a 290x is on the way now.

Other Thoughts: It's a really nice monitor, but it does have a big price tag. At regular price I would probably skip this and get a pair of 2560x1440 or 1600 instead, but on sale for 750 was good enough to change my mind. it really is amazing what the extra width in the aspect ratio can do for games, seeing 1080 now makes me feel like I'm playing on a pc from the 90s.

5 out of 5 eggsUltra wide is ultra awesome

Pros: Screen real estate and resolution.
Price on open box

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I purchased this on an open box special for $679. From the way it was packed it looks like someone returned the monitor and Newegg never checked the contents. Everything was there, no issues whatsoever, but it was obvious it wasn't packed with love. :)

I knew it had been returned in order for it to be an open box and I was expecting the back light bleed to be on a Texas Chainsaw Massacre type level. I had planned on sending it back to LG for a swap out, there was no need, the screen is perfect in every way.

When you buy open box Newegg threatens that everything that is normally included might not be there. Not the case here, I got everything I had coming to me.

It's the best monitor I ever had and I got it for a ridiculously low price. I'm very happy with the purchase. If you haven't experienced a 21:9 monitor yet I would suggest checking it out somewhere first, it takes a little getting used to. All in all it's a great monitor with a really sharp picture. I wouldn't trade it for anything.
