5 out of 5 eggsEven with Nvidia, this was a great buy.

Pros: -This monitor is wide. So very wide.
-Fantastic colors.
-Bright!
-Easy stand assembly. The stand looks amazing as well. It's black on the 29 inch model.
-Matte screen. Much better at handling things like sun glare than glossy is.
-Easy to navigate the settings menu. The easiest I've ever seen on a monitor.
-Came packaged extremely well. Perfectly pristine upon arrival.

Cons: -None

Other Thoughts: I have an Nvidia card so I can't take advantage of the freesync, but I still love this monitor. I have so much more real-estate in games now. The screen is beautiful.

Going from anything below 25 inches to this is very easy. You basically keep your height (it's about the same height as a 24 inch monitor screen-wise) but get much more width. It might be a bit harder if you're coming from a taller monitor, since you could feel squished. I, for one, will only be buying ultrawide in the future.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks out of the box, no dead pixels

Pros: No dead pixels, worked perfectly out of the box for me (good color, contrast, etc). Windows 7 made all default adjustments properly. Delivery far faster than expected.

Cons: None. Other reviewers do note that the height of the screen is not great compared to the width, which is noticeable. I wanted a wide screen specifically and was not worried about height lost, so this does not affect me.

Other Thoughts: I was a little hesitant to buy a monitor and have it delivered due to fear of damage in transit or dead pixels and the hassle of returns. Went with the LG because the quality is higher from what I can see than other brands. This did not disappoint.

5 out of 5 eggsIt's a window to heaven

Pros: ULTRAWIDE FOR LIFE
Great image quality
Sturdy build

Cons: Can sometimes be a problem to get games to display 21:9 - You need to download the program flawless widescreen, it's free and works perfectly for most popular games

5 out of 5 eggsWOW So wide

Pros: Did i mention Wide? haha
It's not as tall as you imagine
the screen is about 11.25" high but just over 26" wide

The quality is very nice (free-sync) is flawless. I read that other users thought there was bleed and to be honest when i first plugged it in I saw it, but after adjusting the brightness and contrast etc it went away.

Cons: The speakers kinda suck but i didnt really plan on using them anyway I use headphones mostly.

It's so wide sometimes you feel like you have to move to get a better look haha

Other Thoughts: At first i hooked up to hdmi and it didnt sync or look that great, so I tried with both dvi-i-dl and display-port and i think the picture looks best on display port. just fyi I also accidently used a dvi-i-sl cable and the monitor actually told me that the cable wasnt dl and so the picture would not look optimal which I thought was cool.

4 out of 5 eggsMacs need a certain cord!

Pros: Bright
Allows multitasking
Great color
Great overall

Cons: Under-documented
Macs need a certain cord
It goes into sleep mode and often will not recognize the computer input when coming back
Energy save mode makes the monitor go into sleep mode even while you are actively using a computer (I believe it's on a timer)

Other Thoughts: Please see above for pros and cons.

I would like to note that I researched FOR HOURS and picked this one because the other similar competing models had unenthusiastic reviews, while this monitor had great reviews. I could not find anywhere any mention of its compatibility or any issues with Macs (I use a MacBook Pro and MacBook Air).

At first, I wrote a one-star review for this because NONE of the cords/cables I had would work with my MacBook Pro 2011. This included - RGA, DVI, mini display port to HDMI. I had thought I had covered my bases with three different options.

With the above three, it basically just stretched out a square display across its extremely wide screen or didn't work at all. Things looked fuzzy and horrible.

Then, I read something someone else posted on an Apple discussion forum about a different monitor, but one that was widescreen. He said the only cord he could get to work was a mini display port to display port cord. I ordered one and IT DID THE TRICK!

It works now and is great. Except for some annoy sleep and energy save issues (see "cons"). I took away one star because there should be better documentation somewhere that Mac users need to buy a specific kind of cord, and because of the sleep issues.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat picture, not as big as expected - requires DISPLAY PORT cable for FreeSync!

Pros: Colors are amazing, Blacks are blacker than coal.
Sound is actually pretty good considering the speakers are in a monitor, lacks bass but can't complain
Game play that supports this ultra wide screens is awesome. It really adds more to the field of view. But if the game doesn't support it, it just stretches it out or not, based on your settings.

Cons: 21:9 ratio is like sticking two 17" monitors together. My 27" monitor has about 4" more height so it was a shock to lose that height perspective.
Bought this for FreeSync with my Radeon graphics card, turns out FreeSync doesn't work with the HDMI cable provided. Need to order as separate DisplayPort cable. That needed to be posted somewhere in BOLD. I had to really dig around the internet to find that little gem of information.
The monitor settings control is horrible. A single thumb button on the bottom of the monitor to control all the setting along with power on/off. very unintuitive.

Other Thoughts: Bonus... watching movies was like being in the cinema. Watched Interstellar in it's original format and gained about 3" of screen left and right that doesn't show up on BlueRay on a regular 16:9 monitor.
Not sure I would buy it again. A 27" monitor gives far more image real-estate. I was fortunate to buy this for less than half price when it was on sale before Christmas along with a rebate. In that sense, it was worth it, but not at full price.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Gaming Monitor, but NOT for Everyone!

Pros: I've had this monitor for a couple of months now, and I love it. I love the 21:9 aspect ratio, the freesync is great with my R9 380x. It doesn't have the response time of a TN panel, but if you're not doing super hardcore FPS gaming, it's not a big deal. The colors are great.

Cons: Ultrawide is NOT for everyone. Most games don't properly support 2560x1080, (however, Oblivion, a game from 2006 mind you, does) even when you set the resolution in the ini files. Not for everyone, but if you don't mind a little working around it, it's a great resolution to play at.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Screen

Pros: Nice and bright with good contrast.
Really like the matte instead of the gloss.
The user interface is easy to use.

Cons: Not so far.

Other Thoughts: Does need a special DVI cable that does not come with the monitor, but the supplied HDMI works fine.
Wish I would have bought another.

5 out of 5 eggsWow!

Pros: I've been using budget 1080p 20" monitors for as long as I can remember. I got this monitor for sale on Black Friday for $250, and man am I pleased! I love the menu features and settings, and the navigation knob is so much better than trying to blindly click buttons on the sides or bottom of a monitor to navigate through the menu. Best monitor I've ever had. 1440p gaming is a night and day difference from 1080p. The picture quality is awesome.

Cons: Stand it comes with only has two height adjustments which require unscrewing and remounting to adjust. I can't justify knocking an egg off for it though since it's just a minor inconvenience.

Some games aren't 1440p friendly and might require some mods or ini editing to work properly. Fallout 4 is a perfect example. I had to edit the ini file to get the right resolution. This isn't the monitors fault though, just something to keep in mind.

Other Thoughts: I wouldn't buy this at full MSRP, but if you can get it on sale, it's definitely worth the purchase.
