4 out of 5 eggsGreat budget monitor

Pros: low price.
Color accuracy was better than expected.
lightweight.
no dead pixels.

Cons: no DVI port
only 1 HDMI port
non-standard power cable

Other Thoughts: Great for what it is.... an inexpensive monitor. Don't expect to do any intense photo, video, or gaming with it though.

4 out of 5 eggsIt's a decent monitor

Pros: I got this on sale for $150, normally $170-180. Nothing fancy, just a big high definition 1920x1080p monitor. Very power efficient, so no heat vents needed.

Cons: I found the 3-foot power cable far too short. The transformer "brick" was built into the end of the cable, which may effectively block other ports on a power strip or UPS. LG should know better. If you put a brick on a power cord, don't put it on the end with the plug...put it in the middle so it can rest on the floor. Or better yet, build it into the monitor.

As it was, I had to buy new $20 power cable to reach my UPS, eliminating any savings from the sale.

Newegg, please post length of power cord as part of specs.

5 out of 5 eggsImpressively good for the money spent

Pros: Huge screen size, it's easy to change settings, brilliant contrast, excellent viewing angles and resolution...you cannot beat this monitor for $150 delivered. Did I mention the huge screen size is ideal for my aging eyes? Considering buying another one for my spouse for that reason.

Cons: No DVI input, the stand could be more stable, the height is slightly more than as described in the specs.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this for home use to replace a 6 year old 23' monitor that I purchased from the same seller at the same price point, and the new LG is far superior to the old monitor. Yes, I knew DVI was not a feature on this device but I happen to like having that input available as my PC video card has that output. The stand is not one of the best, be very sure you are placing this LG on a stable desktop or you will end up with slight wobbling. For me it's not a big deal as my desk is big and heavy. The specs that list the height are wrong as mine is about 1/2" higher than listed, may not be a big deal for some people but I had to move my shelf light over to make room for the extra height, and I measured very carefully prior to ordering this monitor. This is my first experience with an LG brand monitor and It will be interesting to see how it holds up over time.

4 out of 5 eggsReally nice product!

Pros: Colors are nice and bright! This is a very good monitor for the price. Very easy to overclock too! Perfect size for gamers.

Cons: Power connector is very big. It blocks one of my outlets on my surge protector.

Other Thoughts: I love this monitor. I would recommend you buy it!

5 out of 5 eggsA great replacement for my 27EA33

Pros: Contrast / Blacks
Colors
Price
Quality
Non-reflective

Cons: Large frame that feels cheap
Stand isn't great - I've always used mounts anyway so I don't care

Other Thoughts: I've had samsung and gateway monitors in the past and they were pretty good, but I'll probably never buy anything again but an LG. I've had my 27EA33's for years and they're the best. I wanted to add 2 monitors to my setup, and these were a great match! They have the same exact look and feel, but aren't discontinued lol.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitor For the Budget Enthusiast !!

Pros: This is a great monitor overall. Great for gaming, Video Editing, and all of your all purpose daily use. I purchased one back on black friday and at the time the price was almost a steal. I was kinda skeptical at first because of the 5ms before it was shipped to my house, but when i set it up and did some testing, it runs just a smooth as a 1ms monitor. No motion blur, or Ghosting with this monitor! Its also anti glare so it doesn't tired your eyes after hours of use. I video edit and i also play games such as dota 2, so pretty much im on the computer 24/7, and with my old monitor, my eyes would tire after hours of use.. so i can definitely see and feel the difference of this monitors anti glare feature. I also like the fact that its a full 27" monitor, not cropped factor, and has a 1080 hd resolution. I ended up buy two more and now i have a three monitor set up. This is a sexy set up and glad i stumbled across these monitors. plus its LG.. What more can you ask for!! Get yours Today!!

Cons: I can't really say this is a con but, these monitors come with a vga output (called D-sub) and a Hdmi port. It doesnt come with a DVI port as stated in the specifications features listed on the page. They should update that so that people are not misled.

Other Thoughts: I would highly recommend this monitor for people looking to upgrade for something bigger and better.. and, in my opinion, this is the best monitor for its price range. I would suggest get one or a few now before the rates go up!!!

1 out of 5 eggsWorthless monitor! Expensive to return.

Pros: Relatively cheap

Cons: Very dim with incredibly dark shadows even at max brightness and all eco garbage turned off. Unusable for any sort of photo or video work. The color and picture look horrible next to my acer 24" that is several years old now. Also, the monitor turns itself off and has to be turned back on with the switch on the front. It will not wake up when you move the mouse like any of my other monitors do. I was very dissatisfied with the monitor and newegg charged me almost $40 in shipping and restocking to send it back. I bought another acer 27" monitor that only cost about $20 more from another popular online vendor and it has none of these problems plus they won't charge me 30% to return it if it is a piece of junk.

4 out of 5 eggsA few complaints, but overall very happy with the monitors.

Pros: I bought 3 of these monitors for myself and my husband for Christmas. These apply to all 3 monitors:

- Good quality picture for gaming, movies and text once settings are adjusted (see cons)

- Matte screen - no glare at all even in my southern California home with a massive wall of windows. I use dark themes in my development environment and got a lot of glare on my previous glossy monitor, to the point that I couldn't work. No glare is a beautiful thing.

Cons: - Menus: There are actually 2 menus, one under "menu" and one under "func". Both of these menus contain color settings. The "menu" button contains individual brightness/contrast/gamma etc... and the "func" button contains preset cinema/gaming/text etc... It would be more intuitive if these were combined, and would probably solve a lot of user frustration.

- Calibration: Right out of the box, the default settings made the colors look washed out. A little tweaking and this monitor display is as beautiful as I could expect.

- The "smart energy saving" feature caused one of the monitors to have a very annoying repetitive bright->dim->bright->dim swing while my husband was watching some video as it adjusted to the changing brightness in the show. Once the smart energy saving was turned off, the monitor functioned perfectly, but it required some time hunting and testing in those unfriendly menus.

- The power cord is short. It's not terrible, but it could use another 2-3 feet of length.

Other Thoughts: I bought these monitors because I need a few things that I knew the LG monitors deliver:
- great picture quality for graphic art and gaming

- Anti-glare: I cannot stand any kind of glare on my screen and the 3H finish on the LG monitors delivers on that promise, even with windows all around and a big, bright high-light aquarium behind my right shoulder. I could watch my fish swim almost as well as if I were looking at the tank with my old monitor, but with these I am never distracted by glare. Thank you LG!

- Good build quality. My husband dropped my other 27" LG monitor on it's corner on the driveway when we were moving, hard enough to do quite a bit of damage to the bezel. It still works flawlessly.

NOTE: Another review states that these monitors do not have HDMI ports. That is wrong, the specs are correct.
